Dr. Pfab has a long list of impressive accomplishments and credentials that he has accumulated over 25 years in his pursuit of becoming the best dentist possible for his patients. His list of post-graduate continuing education courses in advanced dental techniques include just about everything and lots of it! His emphasis has been on saving teeth and making them gorgeous using his training in smile enhancement and reconstruction. Dr. Pfab feels comfortable treating the most demanding of dental problems with his background in orthodontics; jaw and bite disorders, implants and porcelain smile makeovers.
In his efforts to give something back to the community, Dr. Pfab supports many local charitable organizations and teaches other dentists as a consultant. Since the mid 1990s, Dr. Pfab has been on the faculty of theVCU dental schoolas an Adjunct Professor. He has authored dental articles and is a Fellow in theAcademy of General Dentistry.
Well, Patients love Dr. Pfabs laid back Chairside manner the most. He wants to create a low stress and light-hearted visit to make things easier on you. Lets face it, having dental work done isnt on the top of anyones fun list, but having a caring dentist with a sense of humor goes a long way to making your visits more enjoyable.
When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Pfab becomes a Sweet-pea for his lovely wife Rachel. Together, they enjoy spending time with their children, Catherine, Anthony, Joseph, Nicholas, Jonathan, Evan, Christina, Brendan and little Jacob.
Dr. Raika is very caring and gentle with a strong clinical background in Aesthetic and General dentistry. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from theMedical College of Virginia,Virginia Commonwealth University, one of the top dental schools in the country.

I am very pleased with Dr. Pfab and Dr. Raika at Pfabulous Gentle Dentistry. The office was very clean and the staff was friendly. If you are looking for a dentist in this area, I would highly recommend going here. I am so happy I switched to Pfabulous Gentle Dentistry and wouldn't go anywhere else now.

I had a great experience here! As a new patient, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Dr. Pfab explained every procedure and made sure I was comfortable. The facility was very clean and I felt safe they were following COVID protocols. I usually hate going to the dentist but Dr. Pfab put me at ease after this visit.

As a business owner I can appreciate a friendly staff and a clean facility, not to mention a dentist and dental hygienist that really cares for their patients. This first class facility and has earned high praise from me.

Very helpful switching dentists. They contacted my old dentist to get my records when they did not send them over for me. The dentist was open and honest about the health of my teeth ans gums. They gave me all the information I needed after my cleaning. They showed me my x-rays and explained what I was looking at. They were all very friendly any my teeth look awesome.

Although I was pleased with my initial visit to Dr. Pfab, I decided to try a bigger office that was recommended by a friend. They have the latest and most advance technology and so I thought this would offer more options when receiving care. I severely regret my decision. I have had extensive work done by both practices. The other practice left me with residual teeth sensitivity that can not be corrected without having to redo the entire procedure. I have not ever had an issue with the work preformed by Dr. Pfab. Don't let the shiny new equipment distract you. Nothing will replace an experienced and very skilled dentist like Dr. Pfab.

I haven't been to the dentist in years and was looking for a new dentist who I could stay with for a long time. I had heard great things about Pfabulous Gentle Dentistry and went there for the first time last week for a check up. The experience was amazing! The front desk was friendly, efficient, and helpful - even checking my insurance right there to see what was covered for me. The entrance was super cute and the entire office was updated, clean, and beautiful - something you don't always get at a dentist office! My teeth were cleaned to perfection and thoroughly checked by the new Dr. Pfab who really took his time. It was certainly the most pleasant dentist office experience I have ever had. Glad to find my forever dentist here! Also, I live in the city and going out of my way to drive here is absolutely worth it - they are that good!

I have never in my life experienced such unprofessionalism and horrible patient care from a dentist in my life. He negated that my son was in immense pain from a mouth infection with an abscess and even after calling Mr. Pfab back to let him know my son was crying, he belittled me on the phone saying I should have brought him in earlier if I new he was in this much pain. Please keep in my we literally just moved to the area (my husband is in the USAF, so we move around alot) and I got him in as fast as I could.. please, please if you are a parent, I would NOT take your children near this man.. I could never imagine being so dismissive to a child that was literally crying after taking around the clock motrin and tylenol.. he literally said "studies show that if you alternate between ibuprofen and extra strength tylenol then that is good enough for moderate to severe pain"... sorry Mr. Pfab, not all people respond the same to medication especially when they have an infected tooth with an abcess.. he just gave him an oral antibiotic and said he doesnt drain abscesses and to see an oral surgeon.... thanks alot.. never will go back here ever, and I would advise the same for anyone else who wants to go here... think twice... your health or children's health is worth too much then to go to someone who truly doesnt care.... so disappointed.

The staff and Dr. Raika are very nice, but I had many issues with a filling being overfilled and reporting it several times to Dr. Raika. Dr. Raika kept telling me to see "how it feels" and to keep coming back when I told her the filling was overfilled. Needless to say, the third time I went in, she proceeded to tell me that because she had overfilled the filling that I now have a cracked tooth and would need a crown. I am beyond angry as I don't understand why she didn't listen to me when I was in her chair asking for it to be fixed the first time, or even the second time, and that she had overfilled the filling. Not only do I have more damage that needs to be fixed due to this issue, but this issue will ultimately cost a lot of money to fix and require more of my personal time. The one thing that was consistent with Dr. Raika and my time at this practice was that I always felt rushed when I had an appointment and she wouldn't finish the job completely with her always telling me to come back after I try seeing how the "area feels". I have never had this experience with any other dentist as other dentists make sure their work is complete at the time of service.
