Dr. Paul Petsche was born and raised in the Florida Keys and is the youngest of six children.After graduating as valedictorian of Island Christian School, he attended Florida Atlantic University and earneddegrees in chemistry and mathematics.
He obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1999, graduating with high honors and research honors. In the same year, Dr. Petsche started his clinical orthodontic careerat the University of Nebraska Medical Center residency program, where he also earned his Master of Science and certificate of specialization in orthodontics in 2001.
Orthodontics appeals to Dr. Petsche for several reasons. He enjoys the mechanical nature of the orthodontic process, along with solving challenges of complex bite problems. The father ofthree children as well as coming from a very large family, he enjoys working with patients of many ages and building relationships with themand their families.
The orthodontic dental specialty is a rewarding field, in whichcorrecting jaw misalignment andcreating beautiful smiles arerealized on a daily basis. The completion of orthodontic treatment is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and in many cases willdramatically improve a person's self-esteem. To stay abreast of the latest advances in orthodontics, Dr. Petsche is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the Florida Dental Association, and the Marion County Dental Association. A published author, he has had articles featured in theArchives of Oral Biologyand theInternational Journal of Prosthodontics.
We are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! In many cases, orthodontic treatment can take two years, so our relationships with the families in our practice are nurtured over this time.

TEN YEARS ago, Dr. Petsche did my braces, sealed my teeth, and put in a permanent retainer. It was a lot of work TEN years ago. Today, I'm happy to report I have zero cavities and zero issues related to my original teeth because of this amazing doctor. I just walked out of my first dentist appointment in years being told the worst I have is some plaque build up. Thank you to Dr. Petsche, his wife, and the staff of Petsche Orthodontics. I have had numerous appointments with Dr. Petsche. Every time I go, it's no less than a positive experience. From the cleanliness of the office, to the friendliness and professionalism of his staff, the minimal wait to be sent in - you really cannot ask for more. Oh, the most important thing is that Dr. Petsche's work, knowledge and skill is obvious. He is precise, meticulous and clearly takes pride in his work. No sloughing off here. They do an amazing job here! My son and daughter had braces for 1.5 years. Their smile is perfect! My daughter needed her teeth shaped after getting the braces off and I'm so impressed with how they turned out! Both my kids loved everyone on staff and Dr Petsche always treated them like young adults, very professional and courteous. So thankful we chose Petsche!

My 10 year old daughter has been going to Dr. Petsche for about 2 years and she as well as my husband and I absolutely love this office and staff! Very professional, clean, punctual, and kind staff all around. Yesterday my daughter came home from her appointment and she said "Mom I just love Dr. Petsche's office, I can just walk in there by myself and it's safe no one will steal me and everyone is so nice like Dr. Petshce!" LOL...Ok first of all she does not go in there by herself but I do let her get a few steps ahead of me so she can go check in with her fingerprint by herself because she absolutely LOVES that part. As for her whole "stealing" opinion that comes from me always telling her to never leave my side because someone may steal her lol... BUT from a 10 year old's insight Dr. Petsche's office has really created an environment where kids do feel safe and even loved by their kindness and that goes a LONG way in today's world. Most kids do not like going to the dentist and my little one just walk's into Dr. Petshce's office like they are neighbors and it's time for her to catch up with her friends there. Dr. Petsche is very kind and knowledgeable when it comes to picking the appropriate time for braces at a younger age. His team always greets us with welcome arms and smiles.
