Although technically her job title is Financial Concierge, most know her as chief office ninja as she practically runs our entire front office singlehandedly and with ease. Dawn has been a part of the team for almost 10 years (time flies!) and our patients love her! Dawn is the proud parent of Trevor and Cory and 2 Boston Terriers and wife to David.
Melissa is one of the friendliest and most welcoming people you will encounter and has a superpower, the ability to turn a frown into a smile instantaneously, as soon as they walk in. Melissa specializes in dealing with insurance companies and in helping patients to understand their insurance plans. Outside the office, she is a well-known football mom can be found spending time with her husband Josh and her two adorable little boys, Trace and Graysen.
Although JoAnn is new to orthodontics, she has a real gift for relating to patients and making them feel like they are at home. Its what she does! JoAnn loves family, and her and her husband Dave have 9 wonderful children, and 2 grandchildren, Charlotte and Danny. JoAnn enjoys bike riding, baking, and gardening and is a freakishly good cook.
Everybody loves Janet. Janet is our rockstar coordinator for new patients, giving them a warm and easygoing first visit. Janet has an impressive amount of experience working as a part of this team for over 20 years in addition to working at several other offices on the East coast before that. Janet and her husband Dave enjoy spending time with family, traveling, cheering on the Detroit Tigers and dining out.
Carla is known in some circles as the Yoda of orthodontics and has been kicking butt as a technician since 1980, working here at our office for over 20 years. Her and Kevin live in Almont, and love traveling and spending time with family. Last but not least, they have an adorable Schnauzer named Matilda.
Stephanie is a talented technician and Invisalign master. She is sweet, cheerful, competitive and really good with her hands. Prior to working at Petrous Orthodontics, she had experience working in family dentistry. Stephanie is a former college athlete and loves keeping active- in other words, you dont want to go head to head with her on the volleyball court or softball field! Steph is an animal lover, her and her husband Jake have 2 dogs, Costa and Isla.
Those who know her will tell you that she is super relatable, easy to talk to, welcoming, and super chill. Brittney has amazing clinical skills and even worked previously in an oral surgery office. Her and her fianc Seantez enjoy experimenting with new restaurants and catching up on their favorite Netflix shows. Brittney is also a legit talented creator and designer, specializing in custom wigsher side hustle.
Becky brings a positivity and enthusiasm second to no one and that is just one of the reasons that our patients love her! Shes worked in a variety of dental offices, having experience in general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics and now orthodontics! She loves pushing herself with tough cardio workouts, but can handle her own when it comes to eating pizza. She loves scary movies, enjoys the occasional Netflix binge, and enjoys traveling.
Olivia is a clinical master and her orthodontic skills are off the charts. Then throw in her easy to get along with personality, her sharp mind, and her soft touch and youll see why shes known throughout these parts as a patient favorite! Outside of the office, Olivia is a cat whisperer and is mom to 2 cats, Blanca and Bigfoot. Shes a talented artist with a preferred medium of sketching, she loves concerts and likes to spend time at the lake.
Dr. Jerek Petrous, a Southeast Michigan native, completed his undergraduate work at the University of Detroit Mercy as a biology major in his three years of study. After which, he continued his studies at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry to receive his dental degree, finishing among the top of his class. He returned to the University for a 2-year full-time residency program in orthodontics obtaining his Orthodontic Specialty Certificate. During his orthodontic residency, he completed additional study and original research to earn a Post-Doctoral Masters of Science degree. Dr. Petrous research interests express the passion he has for bringing orthodontic treatment to those who are less fortunate.
Always eager to learn, Dr. Petrous attends numerous continuing education courses each year keeping him current of the latest trends and techniques in the field of orthodontics. Dr. Petrous is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is an active member of several well-known national organizations including the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
Dr. Petrous has been featured in several local, state-wide and international publications including the Journal of the Michigan Dental Association, the Macomb Dental Society Newsletter and the Leading Edge. Dr. Petrous was also featured on the cover of the international trade magazine OrthoTown which highlighted Dr. Petrous devotion to his patients, his commitment to providing a higher standard of care and service, and his charitable work throughout Metro Detroit. In addition, Dr. Petrous has been recognized by his dental community peers as a Top Orthodontist in the Metro Detroit region in the well-known magazine Hour Detroit for the past 5 years in a row.
Dr. Petrous has a heart for serving others whether it be locally in the Detroit area, or as part of medical/dental teams throughout the world. In his free time, Dr. Petrous enjoys spending time with his best friend and wife Lauren. Together they love exploring the Detroit restaurant scene (as hard core foodies), traveling and experiencing culture, and serving with their church community. Dr. Petrous speaks Spanish and a bit of Arabic, has a deep rooted passion for studying Philosophy and Apologetics, and is a die-hard Detroit Lions fan.
