I have always modeled my philosophy of care after this quote, but coming from a family full of engineers the shoe just didnt fit for me. What do I want to people to know about me? I'm a local boy, born and raised. Graduated from the University of Washington and completed my doctorate of medical dentistry (DMD) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine Went on to complete an advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) in Spokane and returned home to found Petrie Advanced Dental.
Petrie Advanced Dental was opened in 2013 and was transitioned over from a wonderful physician, Dr. Daniel Gallacher. His sense of practice, diagnosis, and care was immediately in line with my own philosophy of treatment. Personal, professional, progressive care is my immediate priority. Healthcare is very personal business, so should be the relationship you establish with your dentist.
Petrie Advanced Dental is also a progressive office where we implement the latest proven materials and techniques in the care we render. I have a sworn oath to care and heal my fellow man, brother, and community. Call it the physicians oath. I consider myself not just lucky, but blessed and privileged, to do what I do. I place my heart and soul into the people I care for and work with. The work we do and the team I work with are exceptional.
Outside the office, travel, nature, and history have always been my passions. I most enjoy boating, snow skiing, running, mountain climbing, wake boarding, and motorcycling (when I am able to). I am excited to be back in the PNW to fish and crab again and show my children the way of life I grew up with. Cheers!

My name is Ashley and have been in the dental field for over 12 years. My ultimate goal is to be an asset to a dental practice by providing my community with the proper care that they deserve to place their best selves forward. I am always on the search for holistic ways to achieve a balanced mind, body and spirit.
Although I grew up in the south, the Northwest scenery has stolen my heart. I love to be out in nature, spend endless hours in the kitchen whipping up new vegan recipes with my partner and spending all my free time with my family and friends.
Hollie is a dental hygienist who has been working in dentistry since 2001. She completed her training in dental hygiene at Pierce College in 2004 and continued her education by earning a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from Eastern Washington University in 2011. Hollie loves the relationships she has built over the years with her patients and has enjoyed working with many patients to overcome their dental fears.
Hollie is married and has two sons who are quickly approaching their teenage years. She currently volunteers a lot of her time with Boy Scouts of America and serves as a dentistry merit badge counselor. Hollie enjoys trying many different sports, including ice hockey, scuba diving, and yoga, and most recently she completed a 5K mud run.
Jaime started her career in dentistry as a dental assistant and found a passion for helping patients feel more comfortable while having treatment. She decided to follow in her mother's footsteps and further her education to become a dental hygienist. Jaime enjoys working with her patients to give great care in a comfortable setting and discuss the best ways for them to achieve optimal oral health at home also. Working alongside the team at Petrie Advanced Dental has been fun and rewarding because we work closely together to give our patients compassionate care at all times.
Jaime enjoys being outdoors as much as possible with her husband, dog, nephews and friends. They enjoy snowboarding, hiking, camping, traveling, reading and sometimes lounging on a beach. Jaime has also been passionate about helping others by being part of a dental mission in Nicaragua since 2004.
Jazmyn is one of our dental assistants. She has been working at Petrie Advance Dental for over 2 years. Jazmyn has been in the dental field over 10 years, starting in 2011. She is going to school currently to become an Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary(EFDA), and will graduate soon!
Our patient care coordinator, Kim, joined our team full time in May of 2015. Kim worked previously with the wonderful Dr. Daniel Gallacher for five years in this practice before his retirement. She has more than 15 years of dental administrative experience and has thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I have a true passion and belief that information and communication is key to a healthy dental existence and am more than happy to help in every way possible.
Kim moved to Washington more than 25 years ago from the South and is loving this Pacific Northwest weather. She is a MAJOR Seahawk fan and has been a season ticket holder for 12 years. She is married to Mike Johns, who is a partner in the Gig Harbor law firm Robert, Johns, and Hemphill.
Kristi graduated from Pierce College Dental Hygiene Program in 1993. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, she strives to work alongside her patients in a collaborative effort to help achieve not only a healthy, confident smile, but sustainable overall health.
What she enjoys most about working at Petrie Advanced Dental is 'The office has the most sophisticated technology and current information to help provide comprehensive oral care in a fun, relaxed atmosphere, where we all truly enjoy each other and care about our patient 's well-being.
When Kristi isn't in the office, you can find her hanging out with her family, where not long ago they welcomed their first grandchild. In addition, she loves spending as much time as possible in the outdoors gardening, hiking, biking and kayaking.
Melody graduated from Pierce College with her degree in dental hygiene in 2004. She has continued her education by earning her Bachelors degree in dental hygiene from Eastern Washington in 2011 and regularly participates in a local dental study club. What Melody most enjoys about working in the dental field is having the opportunity to build relationships with her patients and taking the time to help them to achieve optimum oral health. She believes that receiving dental care should be a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
Melody is a native to this area and grew up in Tacoma. She is married and has a super-cute baby boy. Photography is a passion of Melodys, as is enjoying the outdoors, spending time with friends and family, and playing with her dog, Duke.
Malgosia started working as a dental assistant at Petrie Advanced Dental in late 2013. She graduated from the dental assistant program at Bates Technical College in 2008. Malgosia was born in Poland, and came to the U.S. in 1996 after getting married. She has a Masters degree in nutrition from the University of Warsaw, and worked as a pharmacy technician for ten years at Olympic Pharmacy in Gig Harbor. For the past five years she worked for Dr. Joseph Ostheller in Gig Harbor and Dr. Nabil Al Krumly in Seattle.
Malgosia cares about our patients and their health and looks forward to coming to work with a smile and a positive attitude. Her main concern is to make each patient feel comfortable and safe. She appreciates Dr. Petrie's willingness to do the very best for his patients and go the extra mile, which makes her job very rewarding.
Malgosia volunteers for Great Shape Inc., an organization that provides free dental care and education for children in Jamaica. She enjoys baking European pastries, gardening, and spending time with her two wonderful daughters, Zofia and Maria. Phares is Pacific Northwest born and raised and has been in the Tacoma area for a couple of years now. She loves being a part of the Petrie Advanced Dental team and loves to help take part in taking care of our patients. Phares loves to spend her free time trying new restaurants and exploring new places with her husband and two dogs!
