Being a dentist holds me to a higher standard. I always want to do the best work possible. I take pride in seeing dentistry that I did 25 years ago hold up through the test of time. I love it when a patient looks in the mirror and smiles at their newly repaired or improved teeth. These smiles are the reason I look forward to coming to the office each day, since I know theyre connected to a group of people I am honored to call my friends.
I began my journey to become a dentist at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1985. Since then, I have earned the distinction of becoming a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. To achieve this, I completed more than 1,000 hours of continuing education and passed a written exam. My additional affiliations include the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, and the Patuxent Dental Society.
Originally from Wheaton, Maryland, I have lived in Riva for the past 20 years. My wife, who is also a dentist, and I have two sons and one daughter. My free time is happily consumed watching my two boys play sports, and attending music and drama events with my daughter. As a family, we also love going to the beach and cheering on our Redskins and Ravens!
Being a dentist comes with great responsibilities, but it is also a rewarding and fulfilling profession. We have a unique opportunity to change a persons perception of what a dental visit should be like. It is a great feeling to watch the transformation from a fearful patient to a relaxed, happy patient after a pain-free visit. We now have a patient who can maintain their oral health at home and is enthusiastic about returning for cleanings and exams every six months!
I earned my bachelors degree in biology with a minor in business management from Boston University before continuing on to Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. As a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, I am required to take continuing education above and beyond state minimum requirements in all areas of dentistry.
I am also a mentor for CEREC doctors classes, which enables me to stay at the forefront of dental procedures, materials, techniques, and research. This is important for patient care because it allows me to provide the highest quality, most dependable dentistry. My additional affiliations include the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, and the American Association of Implant Dentistry.
I was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia and currently reside in Crofton, Maryland. I am married to my wonderful wife, Suba, and we have been blessed with three children: our sonSachin, and two daughters, Sarena and Shyla. In addition to my love of traveling with my family, I also enjoy training for triathlons, cooking, playing with the kids, and watching football.

Ive been married for 25 wonderful years and have three children. I love being involved in my childrens school activities and sports events. As a family, we love to camp and go on vacations as much as possible.
I work with our patients to help them understand the importance of maintaining good oral health. As a dental assistant, I work with Drs. Peterson and Reddy, as well as our hygienists, on most dental procedures. I love being able to make my patients feel comfortable when they come to our practice. Each one of my patients is important to me, and I always make sure to give them the undivided attention they deserve.
In my spare time, I like to do theater, and have been in a bunch of shows at the College of Southern Maryland. I also am a very musical person: I like to sing and play piano, and Im trying to learn the ukulele and guitar in the free time I have.
