Dr. Caroline Peterson has been working for Rockridge Smiles since 1982 and took over the practice in 1986. Dr. Peterson has lived in Berkeley most of her life. She earned her bachelor's degree in physiology from UC Berkeley, and her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with honors from the Washington University School of Dental Medicine. She continues her dental education with regular seminars and study groups. When not at work, she loves hiking with her husband and dog, baking bread, and spending time with her grandkids.
Dr. Melinda Chan joined the staff of Rockridge Smiles in 2000, and became a partner in 2008. She grew up in the Philippines, where she graduated from dental school at the University of the Philippines. In 1993, she moved to the Bay Area and completed the International Dental Student Program and Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program, both at the University of the Pacific. She feels lucky to work in a practice that fosters a culture of learning and personal growth.
Dr. Audrey Peterson joined the staff of Rockridge Smiles in 2009. The daughter of Dr. Caroline Peterson, Dr. Audrey was born and raised in Berkeley, and spent a lot of time at Rockridge Smiles growing up. She completed her bachelor's degree at UC Santa Cruz and continued on for her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at UCSF. She loves using technology and research to improve her love of preventative and conservative dentistry. When not at work, you can usually find her hanging out with her family, gardening, or in the kitchen baking.

Happy to report that "much needed crown work" was not needed after all. It has been solid for the last 4 years, and my new dentist also agreed. Greed is never healthy!

We love Dr. Audrey Peterson, Dr. Caroline Peterson, and everyone else at Rockridge Smiles. They are great with our kids, and have been fantastic helping me keep my teeth and gums healthy. They have fixed a bad crown done by another, less capable dentist, and have steered me in the right direction for treatment for my gum recession. I fully trust them on all things dental. They also have wonderful safety precautions in place and I've felt very safe going their during Covid times.

Caroline Peterson has been my dentist for decades, her daughter, Dr. Audrey Peterson was my late husband's dentist. My son and daughter-in-law are also patients at Rockridge Smiles.
