We are periodontists which means we specialize in treating the gums and bone around the teeth. Because we specialize in the gums and bone that means that we can provide you with everything from the best possible dental cleaning to a full mouth reconstruction. We are currently and always have been a majority referral-based practice. This means that the majority of our patients come to us because they were referred by their general dentist. We rely on San Diegos top dentists to trust us to care for their patients. We also have many patients who have been with us since the beginning and continue to receive their cleanings and yearly exams with us. We look forward to providing you with the quality of care that residents of San Diego have come to expect from us for over 35 years.
Dr. Christopher Peterson has been a part of this practice for most of his life. Even before attending dental school he worked in almost every other position in the office, from receptionist to maintenance man. He is very grateful to have the opportunity to work with his father Jon Peterson and continue to provide the quality care that this practice was founded on.
Dr. Christopher Peterson works hard to stay at the cutting edge of dentistry and attends as much continuing education as possible. He is well versed in everything from full mouth surgical restoration to soft tissue plastic surgery.

I had Dr. Abe do surgery on my my receding gums. The work performed prevented new loss. Since the surgery the hygienists in his office has kept things in check. I am very satisfied with the profession services provided.

Dr Bruce Abe was referred to me a few years ago from a friend. I was a bit skeptical about going because I live in Orange County. In my mind, SD is a long drive for a dental procedure. But after some research on him, I pulled the trigger and made the appointment. Dr Abe is very informative and gives you al the information you need before proceeding with the work. And surprisingly, he's not one of the "scary dentists"... Very nice guy. He'll treat you more like a friend than a patient. And most important, his work is top notch. The staff is awesome as well. Receptionists are nice & friendly. Dr Abe's assistants, Barbara & Vicky, were kind and happy to assist whenever needed. I highly recommend him if you need some work done. I drove 1&1/2 hrs... I'm either a dumb**s or Dr Abe is a real Picasso. I say its the latter.

Dr Abe is an amazing periodontist! He is patient and has a calm disposition. Most importantly, he has excellent surgical techniques and wonderful outcomes. His dental assistants are very pleasant and reassuring particularly during the surgical procedures and post-op. Last but not least, the always very kind reception staff are immeasurably helpful with expediting appointments and insurance authorizations. Highly recommended!

I was referred to Dr. Abe...The first visit went well. Dr. Abe consulted with me after x-rays we're done and I agreed upon a treatment plan. I am going to move my dental care to their office. The office staff are courteous and professional.

Dr. Peterson did my gum grafts at the recommendation of my dentist (who said he is tops in San Diego). He was extremely professional, competent and kind, and this experience was a breeze from start to finish. The only pain I experienced was when the shot to anesthetize the area was given, and that's just a normal dental experience. I had been putting this procedure off because it sounded scary, but it was absolutely NOT. I think that Dr. Peterson is the best in the business, and am recommending him to anyone I know who needs a periodontist. Also, the office staff is really good! Everything flowed, from setting appointments, to coordinating insurance, to follow up after the procedure. What a wonderful office this is!
