From his early days as a dentist, Dr. Ferrara remains true to his philosophy .to do whats best for his patients, to make it work for each individual. Believing that earning a patients trust and respect is the cornerstone of a good professional relationship, Dr. Ferrara combines this core value with his 38 years of experience and proficiency in all phases of dental healthcare. With the support of a staff whose members share the same values, Dr. Ferrara offers preventive, restorative and cosmetic dental care and welcomes the opportunity to serve new patients of all ages.
On a personal note, Dr. Ferrara enjoys sharing family life with Chris and their four adult daughters, time with friends, especially on the golf course, indulging in his passion for art, and playing the guitar.
After graduating from NYU College of Dentistry with high honors, Dr. Ferrara was awarded a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Manhattan Hospital for Veterans Affairs. Upon completion, she began working in private practice in both Manhattan and Connecticut.
The youngest of four daughters, Dr. Ferraras interest in dentistry began during childhood, as she witnessed her fathers passion for the field through his work at his practice in Westport. She then decided to pursue dentistry, which encompasses her love of both science and artistry, and also her passion for helping others. She excelled both clinically and academically, having been inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) society for national dental honor at NYUCD, and completing a Senior Honors in Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular disorders (TMD).
Darcey brings 22 years of experience to her role working at the front desk and chairside as a Dental Assistant. Darceys interest in dentistry make her a perfect fit for our office, and her gentle nature makes her a favorite with patients and her fellow team members. She enjoys the opportunity to help our patients with all their needs.
Beginning with the support she offered early on as her husband began his freshman year at Georgetown University School of Dentistry, Chris has continued to work with Dr. Peter Ferrara throughout the years in dental office operations. With 38 years of experience, as well as a shared philosophy with Dr. Ferrara of treating both patients and employees with the utmost respect and consideration, she is happy to be part of the staff in the new practice in Shelton. Spending time with her family, a good book (and book club discussion!), and any opportunity to be outdoors are among her most favorite activities!
Christel graduated from the University of Bridgeport with her Associates Degree in the Science of Dental Hygiene in 2011. She always ensures a pleasant and comfortable experience for her patients. While always staying on top of current trends, Christel makes her patients oral health her top priority. Her time at home is spent taking care of her two children and spending time with her husband.

I would give 10 STARS if I could! Amazing and talented crew. My experience was the BEST dental experience I have ever had and the results are already life changing! - - I have been fussing and struggling with two adjacent teeth for over ten years. My previous two dentists told me that there was nothing they could do for me. They both recommended extreme measures: either extractions and implants or crowns and a bridge. Friday at noon, one of these teeth finally gave up and broke apart. My wife called Darcy and made an emergency appointment for me and just 2 hours later, I was in the chair. Dr. Margaret and her crew not only repaired the one broken tooth, but also fixed the adjacent tooth. I don't know much about dentistry, but I can say that it seems like I have two brand new teeth!!! They are amazing! No more fussing and suffering after a meal! I can't thank you enough for your excellent concern, patience and expertise. It is obvious that you all care very much about your patients. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new dentist or if you are even remotely unhappy with your current dentist, you will be happy you switched to this office. I plan on convincing all of my family and friends to consider switching! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

The professionalism and kindness shown by the staff and both Dr.Peter and Dr. Margaret is surpassed by none . My only regret is that I did not go to them years ago.

I needed an extraction which Dr Margaret performed. She was so friendly and professional. Highly recommend her, just not the extraction. Look after your teeth kids.

Dr. Ferrara and the entire staff go out of their way for me every time I go, making sure I am comfortable, receiving good care, that I am educated about how to best care for my teeth at home, getting insurance to pay for the things I need, etc. I was very impressed (as was my dad when he went and he is NOT an easy man to please! He loves the digital X-rays and insisted my entire family go and get a full set...).

I'm writing this review 6 years too late. As a teenager, I had one of my front tooth knocked loose. It eventually "reattached" but as a result of the trauma it was discolored and darker than the others. For years I had been to numerous dentists who either couldn't fix it or suggested full bridge replacement so that it would "match". I happened to notice Dr Ferrara while I was in the building for another reason. So I stopped in to ask about my tooth. You can imagine my relief when he assured me that he could fix it. He thought out of the box and it worked!!! I say out of the box because the procedure he did was never even SUGGESTED by all the other dentists throughout the years. And 6 years later, my tooth is still white!!

Amazing staff and service, read all the amazing reviews about this office before visiting, Darcey was very pleasant and helpful in the setting up of my appointment and getting me squared away with ease. Then the day of my appointment being seen by Christel and Nicole who both were of great help to me and knowledgeable, of what I needed going forward. Dr. Margaret Ferrara was also very polite and made the rest of my exam very easy. Lastly, upon exiting your made my let future appointments with Susie who was a delight and was able to accommodate my busy work schedule and set everything out for me. I highly recommend this office!
