Dr. Jacob Pesis loves helping his patients lead happier, healthier lives using his dental knowledge. Like the other Dr. Pesis, he prioritizes continuing dental education to provide the best possible service to his patients. Dr. Jacob regularly takes courses through the Oakland County Dental Society and Alpha Omega, the worldwide dental fraternity. Outside of the office, he spends a lot of time with his wife and children, and enjoys various sports and wood carving.

I have always believed that education is the path to a high level of patient care. I take numerous hours of continuing education courses through the Oakland County Dental Society and the worldwide dental fraternity, Alpha Omega. I am also a member of the American Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association.
I am a proud Farmington Hills native, and live here now with my wife Clara. We have two children, Felicia and Brian. Spending time with family and friends gives me much personal satisfaction, and when I have time, I enjoy playing racquetball, biking, and wood carving.
I love helping people achieve an ideal level of oral health through the ever-evolving technology in dentistry. I believe that a truly successful practice is based on building long-term relationships and earning the confidence of my patients in my skills and abilities. After 35 years in the dental field, I still enjoy seeing all the smiles on my patients faces when they finally achieve a healthy, beautiful smile.
Dentistry excites me, and I love to stay abreast of all the newest and most innovative technologies. I have completed many hours of continuing education in the areas of endodontics, pharmacology, orthodontics, temporomandibular joint syndrome, cosmetics, practice management, treatment planning, and medical emergencies. My extensive training in cosmetic dentistry, completed at the University of Pacific Dental School, allows me to provide my patients with more options and better results.
I am a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and Alpha Omega, and a past member of the Michigan State Board of Dentistry. I am currently a Commission on Dental Competency Assessmentsmember, so I am involved in giving the DDS license exam.
I am originally from northwest Detroit and currently reside in Milford. My wife Sherry is the office manager at Pesis Dental Group and a graduate of University of Michigan Dearborn. Between us, we have three children. Our daughter, Christina, is the mother of our two grandchildren, Alyssa and Mason. Our sons, Albert and Steven, are both dentists who practice in Philadelphia. Albert is married to Breanne and they have two boys,Elnatan and Leib.
When Im not in the office, I am known as a Mr. Fix-it among my friends. I can get lost for hours working on many things around the house! I also spend a tremendous amount of time with my wife, family, and friends.
Dr. Ungar developed his passion for dentistry at a young age - while he was a patient at Pesis Dental Group! The Ungar and Pesis families have been good friends for over 50 years. In fact, Herschel's mother, Leah, also works at our office as a registered dental hygienist.
Dr. Ungar received a Bachelor of Arts from Wayne State University while graduating summa cum laude. Between his undergraduate and graduate studies, Dr. Ungar worked as a dental assistant and a middle school teacher. While applying to dental school, Herschel would frequent our office to shadow Dr. Solomon Pesis. Eventually, he graduated dental school from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry where he was on the Dean's List and part of their research program.
Dr. Ungar was born and raised in Oak Park, Michigan, which is also where he currently resides with his wife and three children. He enjoys playing and following sports of all kinds. His favorite team is the Detroit Red Wings. He also loves reading and doing arts and crafts with his children.
We are confident Dr. Ungar's warm personality and gentle touch will ensure our patients feel comfortable in the dental chair while they receive the best possible care. We are excited to have found the perfect match for our team and hope you get a chance to meet him soon!

I just had my first visit at the Pesis Dental Group, and it was great! Everyone here is super energetic and happy with their jobs. Everyone was also super kind and talkative, I didn't even feel like a new patient! (aka NP ) I had Dr. Solomon Pesis, and he seemed very knowledgeable. My wife and I definitely plan on coming here for all of our future dentistry needs!

Had my first appointment today, and I am very impressed. The staff is very friendly and personable, but they also seem very knowledgeable and professional. I have had some horrible experiences with my previous dentist in a different city, so I was a bit nervous going into my appointment today, but everyone was amazing. They answered questions, they already showed me that they care about my teeth and overall health, and as I mentioned, they are all very good at what they do. I am very happy with this office and we will continue to use them now that we are permanently in Livonia!

I came in with teeth untouched by a dentist for more than a decade, but everyone was kind and understanding and didn't make me feel bad for needing work done and answered all my questions. Sometimes Dr. Pesis needs to go easier on new assistants, but like me he demands excellence from anyone who puts his name on their work, and I can hardly fault him. Overall a great experience, I'll be coming here for all my dental needs!

I started seeing Dr Sal in the mid 1980s due to a really bad tooth ache. Sal took me in and did a root channel and crown. I have been going there every since. My family and extended family also go here. Today I was in great pain and Sal took me in, identify the issue and immediately fixed it. Wonderful team at Pesis.

Clean office and room. Masks were worn by all staff. Very cfriendly staff. All instruments were unwrapped in my presence. Cleaning was thourogh and painless. Just a super personal officer that cares about me.

I used to hate going to the dentist. Dr. Pesis has done what most dentists have not, make me want to go to the dentist. I can say he is almost pain free with the way he calms me down. The whole office is professional. I have recommended many people to this office and most of my family now use them.

I have been going to the Pesis Dental Group for over 20 years. I have moved twice in that time so I no longer live near their office but I continue to return to them because everyone there is very helpful and knowledgeable and friendly. I normally see Dr. Jack and I have been extremely happy with his care. They have always been accommodating the few times that I have had an emergency.
