After graduating from the University of Michigan Dental school I was a dentist in the United States Air Force. Being the youngest in my dental class I thought two more years of experience would be nice.It was in the air force that I got my additional training in root canals. For over 40 years Ive really enjoyed treating multiple generations of the same families of patients.Treating and sharing stories with patients and then their children and their childrens children has been amazing.My wife Illene and I have been married for over 48 years. Michelle, our daughter is my partner. Jeff is physician with a specialty in internal medicine and pediatrics. Brad is an environmental attorney. My life outside of the office revolves around my six grandchildren, playing golf, traveling, University of Michigan Football and spending every minute with my wife.
After graduating from the University Of Michigan School of Dentistry and being inducted into OKU the dental honor society, Dr. Michelle Rochlen continued her training with a dental residency at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Her favorite days are when a patient who was once embarrassed by their teeth looks in the mirror and is able to smile with pride at their transformed teeth. She enjoys working with children and teaching patients about long term health for their teeth.
When Dr. Michelle is not at work she is likely with her family. She and her husband Paul have two daughters, Alexa and Madison. When she finishes running the girls around to their activities she likes to take time to relax. They like to spend time traveling, shopping, reading and baking.
We keep up with the latest advances in dentistry by attending continuing education courses and seminars every year. Membership and association with organizations such as the Michigan Dental Association, American Dental Association,Macomb Dental Association, Oakland Dental Association, Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity.
Hortensia: Patient Care Coordinator I have been on Personalized Dentistry's team since 1985. Over the years, I have worked in the clinical area assisting Dr. Rochlen, but I feel that I really found my home while working in the front office as a patient coordinator. I love being able to efficiently answer the questions of our patients, and enjoy being able to help out wherever I can to make patients feel more at ease and comfortable. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Jeff since 1987 and have two daughters, Jaclyn and Bryana, whom are now in college. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, bike riding and traveling as much as I can. I love the fact that I can communicate with the local Hispanic community to translate their needs. I have been married for 26 years and have three children. Andrew is engaged and is asafetyengineer. Christopher is in the United States Navy. Lexi, who is still in high school, has been bowling for ten years so in my free time, you will find me cheering competition on in a bowling alley in or out of state. I do a lot of traveling with her and enjoy every minute!
Maryann: Dental Assistant My career as a dental assistant began here at Personalized Dentistry 21 years ago when I was in high school! I enrolled in a dental assisting class inschool,and knew that this was going to be the career for me. I have met so many patients over the years and always make sure they are given personalized care. I love making sure every detail of a patients treatment is addressed. From the time we meet a patient up until the last time the patient walks out the door with all of their care completed, I am on the details and the behind the scenes aspects too. I follow through and remember every detail. The rest of the staff love to tease me that I remember every little detail of every exchange. I have been married to my husband Leon since 2008. I have a soft spot in my heart foranimals,and currently have two cats. In my freetimeyou can find me playing Texas Hold Em, relaxing on the beach, or my personal favoritesleeping!
Kia: Dental Assistant When I started as a dental assistant 11 years ago, I never imagined that I would have fallen in love with dentistry the way that I have. I started at Personalized Dentistry in 2012 and have never looked back. The part of my job that I love the most is when I can make a patient feel comfortable and at ease and to watch their smile transition and their confidence flourish. I have been married to my husband for 13 years and have one son, Eric. I also have to include our four-legged baby, Twix. When I am not working, I love to travel, make flower arrangements, and nap!
Amy: Dental Assistant It's hard to believe that I have been with Personalized Dentistry for 10 years already! I have been a dental assistant since I graduated from high schooland have participated in many different specialties of the field, but find that I love general dentistry the most. I love to see patients with dental anxiety and with the help of the doctors, make them comfortable and at ease. My husband Bryan and I keep very busy with our 3-year-old twin boys and 9-year-old daughter. When I am not at work, you can usually find me chasing after the boys with the help of my daughter. When I have a little bit of time to myself I love to shop, and take a nap now and then.

Margaret: Hygienist I joined Personalized Dentistry in 2006 after being in practice for 5 years. I am a 2001 graduate of U of D Mercy School of Dentistry. Dentistry has always been my passion. The spark ignited in me my sophomore year of high school, where as soon as I could, I obtained a co-op job as a dental assistant. I knew that I wanted to advance myself in the dental field, thus deciding to attend hygiene school. My love for providing care bloomed from there. There are so many things that I love about being a dental hygienist, but I would have to say one of the top reasons is the relationships that I build with the patients that entrust me to provide their care. One of the many other reasons is the process of care that I can provide to those who may not have had dental care in many years, and watching that trust build, and confidence grow with a beautiful smile. When I am not providing dental care, you can find me home with my husband John, our son Nicholas, and our two dogs.
Tracey: Hygienist I graduated from Baker College of Port Huron in 2001, which is the same year that I started here with Personalized Dentistry. I have a passion for dental hygiene and helping people achieve and maintain their optimal oral health. My husband Loren and I have been married for almost 19 years and have two children, Brooke and Brett. Our dog Beau is considered one of my other children and keeps me on my toes! In my time away from work, I enjoy scrapbooking, snowmobiling, camping and traveling cross-country and admiring the beautiful scenery that reveals itself from coast to coast.
