Originally from Sarasota, I completed my dental training at New York University College of Dentistry and went on to do a General Practice Residency at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. After working as a General Dentist for a year in the Tri-State area, I then moved to Boston for training in the Post-Doctoral Periodontal Residency program at Boston University School of Dental Medicine. I returned back to the southwest Florida area with my husband, Dr. Rajeev Prabakaran, who is a Fort Myers native working at NCH. I reside in Bonita Springs and have two young daughters, Ela and Kaia, and a fur-child named Sebastian.
My focus is on all aspects of periodontal therapy, including the treatment of periodontal disease, dental implants, site preparation for dental implants (bone grafts, sinus lifts), gingival grafting for treatment of recession, dental crown-lengthening, and extractions. My passion lies in the oral-systemic connection and I hope to open a line of communication between dentists and physicians with regard to our patients.
I was born in Cincinnati but moved to Sarasota in 2010 where I learned the true meaning of paradise! I am intrigued mainly with Periodontics but understand and love all aspects of the dental field. My husband Garrett and I have 3 dogs, Marley, Rowdy and Scout. I enjoy saltwater fishing, crafting and you can find me cheering on Garrett at the local racetrack every Saturday!

Thank you to Dr Vani and her staff.....it all starts with Morgan who is a very pleasant receptionist. The experience is very professional from the start.... I was referred by Dr Martin of Punta Gorda because reoccurring gum issues from Implants and unfortunately my own personal Dental hygiene and being in my 70's I needed some guidance . Dr Vani suggested that she could help me regain control on my issues by following a few simple daily changes.....like a water pick and a proper brushing procedure in the evening before retiring. My mouth continues on a road to recovery thanks to all the staff at PerioHealth Much Appreciated Bill Paris

I was referred to PerioHealth by my oral surgeon for further evaluation. Morgan, the receptionist, was most accommodating from start to finish. She greeted u with a smile and was efficient. Dr Vani was so kind , caring, compassionate, and concerned for me. Office area very clean and neat in apearance. I would recommend PerioHealth to anyone needing their services. Super staff and Drs.

I highly recommend Dr. Vani and staff for all your Perio needs and bonus cosmetic injections as well. I could not be happier finding the perfect place and it doesn't hurt. I went to a dr in Pennsylvania and there is no comparison much much better here.
