Dr. Jason Cataldo is a Board Certified specialist in Periodontology, and an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Periodontology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Cataldo has been in practice for close to 20 years, and his professional associations include the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, and many others. He also served as an Army dentist for 9 years.

Dr. Cataldo specializes in Periodontics (gum disease), provides dental implants that can replace single or multiple missing teeth, and performs cosmetic dentistry procedures to aesthetically enhance your smile in a comfortable and relaxed environment. He also provides oral sedation to aid relaxation during procedures.

The symptoms of Periodontal disease can include persistent breath odor; bleeding while brushing or flossing; red, tender, or inflamed gums; root exposure; loose or separating teeth; and sores in the mouth, but usually no pain. Periodontal disease is the main cause of tooth loss and can have detrimental systemic effects.

Dr. Dillon Atwood is one of two Board Certified Dentist Anesthesiologists in North Carolina and is a Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He studied at Davidson College and attended the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry before completing his postgraduate training in Anesthesiology at Lutheran Medical Center in New York City. During that time he practiced pediatric anesthesia in Arizona and special care anesthesia at Helen Hayes Hospital in New York. He works with Mallard Creek Family Dentistry to provide in-office general anesthesia and sedation services to our patients. These new services help us to provide any level of anesthetic care that our patients need while putting patient safety and comfort first.

Jennifer completed the Dental Assisting program, with honors, at Alamance Community College in 2007. Jennifer began working for Dr. Cataldo in 2008. She is currently assisting Dr. Cataldo at both his Durham and Raleigh locations. Jennifers dedication and loyalty to her patients, makes her one of a kind. Her chairside manner and ability to multi-task, has helped the practice to grow over the years. Jennifer has two children, Chris and Lorri. She is now a proud grandmother to her grandson Wyatt. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Stacie graduated from the Medical Assisting program at Alamance Community College in 2001. After graduation, she went on to work for a family medical practice in Hillsborough for 3 years as a Medical Assistant in the continuity clinic and the onsite urgent care, and later became a Patients Account Supervisor and Referral Coordinator. In 2004 she became interested in an esthetics practice and began working for a local cosmetic facial plastic surgery office in Chapel Hill, Aesthetic Solutions, as a Scheduling Coordinator. Known as Girl Friday at Aesthetic Solutions she helped manage the spa as well as assisted in the Study Coordinator often administrating treatments. In 2006 Stacie attended the Allergan Aesthetic University in Newport Beach California and received her Administrative Assistant Certification. In 2011 Stacie found interest in the dental field and became our Scheduling Coordinator. In a few short years she changed positions here at our office and is now our Financial Coordinator/Practice Coordinator.

Megan joined our team in 2014 as our Scheduling Coordinator. Megan has over 10 years experience in retail management customer service. Her favorite part about customer service are the relationships she has made over time. Megan was born and raised in the small town of Hillsborough, NC. She is happily engaged with her fianc Bryson and has two Children, Skyler and Kinley ages 12 and 5. Outside of work she enjoys most being a mother! She also enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, cheering on her son in basketball and soccer, shopping and riding four wheelers.

Jana Completed the dental assisting program at Alamance Community College in 2005. She has over 10 years of experience as a dental assistant. Jana currently assists Dr. Cataldo at his Durham and Raleigh locations. Jana lives in Saxapahaw, North Carolina with her fiance Tyler, son Mason, and daughter Mila. She enjoys vacationing at the beach and mountains with her family.

Christian Mazilu is a registered dental hygienist from California. He graduated with honors in 2007 from a private school of hygiene, San Joaquin Valley College. He is married and has two children, Timothy and Annie. He and his wife Tonia decided North Carolina would be a very good place to raise a family and moved to NC in 2015. Christian is passionate about dental hygiene and enjoys helping his patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family. His hobbies are golf, tennis, and snowboarding.
