Dr. Ryan Anderson was born and raised in a rural area of Northeast Ohio. After graduating Valedictorian of his high school, he went on to study Biology and Chemistry at Duke University and received a Bachelors of Science degree in 1998, cum laude. He returned to Ohio to study dentistry at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2002, magna cum laude. Dr. Anderson then completed his periodontal training and received his Certificate of Periodontology in 2005 from the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center.
During his periodontal residency, Dr. Anderson received extensive training in all facets of regenerative periodontal therapy, dental implant placement and bone regeneration for site preparation. As the profession has evolved, Dr. Anderson has pursued continuing education, learning minimally invasive mucogingival surgical techniques and advanced options for reconstruction using dental implants. He routinely attends American Academy of Periodontology and the European Federation of Periodontology meetings to stay abreast of the most modern techniques and materials. In 2019, he trained at the prestigious Istvan Urban Regeneration Institute, learning advanced techniques in vertical bone regeneration for severe cases, earning a certificate from the University of Szeged, Hungary.
A Board Certified Diplomate in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery (2018) and a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology (2006), Dr. Anderson is an active member in a number of professional organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association and the Lynchburg Dental Society. Dr. Anderson also believes in giving back to the community and he volunteered at the Free Clinic of Central Virginia for 16 years. He continues to pursue educational opportunities and has lectured for multiple different study clubs in the central Virginia area.
Dr. Anderson has been married to his wife Alessandra for 6 years. They have 1 child and they enjoy traveling together, frequently visiting Guatemala, his wifes country of birth. In his free time, Dr. Anderson also enjoys playing the piano, going to concerts and art venues, and working on cars.

Dr. Diaz was born and raised in Camaguey, Cuba. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a Biology major in 2007 from the Vocational Pre-university Institute of exact Sciences Maximo Gomez. She began studying Dentistry at the University of Medical Sciences, Carlos J. Finlay, Camaguey. There she was a Periodontics Fellow for three years, and she developed several scientific papers, participating in national and international Congresses and Forums. Her scientific papers were published in the Cuban Journal of Stomatology and in the Argentine Journal of Periodontology. In July of 2012, she graduated Doctor in Stomatology at the University of Medical Sciences of Camaguey with honors.
After graduation, she moved to Venezuela and enrolled in the one-year GPR training at the Latin American School of Medicine.While in Venezuela, Dr. Diaz worked in areas classified as 'Red Zones,' which are highly violent and worked with people living in extreme poverty.
She moved to the United States in 2018 and started studying at theUniversity of Rochester Eastman Institute for Oral Health. There she obtained further education and received her certificate in Periodontics and Master of Science degree. During her time in Rochester, Dr. Diaz focused her research on Implant Fixed Complete Dental Prostheses' biological complications. Dr. Diaz was selected to become the chief resident in Periodontics and teach General Dentists basic periodontal and implant surgical techniques.
In addition to all facets of comprehensive periodontal therapy, Dr. Diaz has received training in IV Sedation, use of lasers for periodontal and implant regenerative procedures, minimally invasive mucogingival esthetic procedures, advanced bone regeneration procedures for site preparation and complex dental implant treatment planning.
Dr. Diaz is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the New York Dental Association. She was nominated to be the American Academy of Periodontology (A.A.P.) Student Ambassador at the University of Rochester.
