Born overseas, Dr. Thousand has always been an avid traveler, but has called Colorado home since 1997. He attended undergrad at the University of Colorado, Boulder and graduated with a degree in Integrative Physiology in 2010. While attending undergrad his love for health and sciences fully developed. After his graduation, he spent a year studying the molecular concentrations of powder on the slopes of the Rocky Mountains while assisting in dentistry to fund his outdoor science project. Dans family has long been involved in healthcare, so at an early age he knew that he wanted to serve in the healthcare field. His father has been a general dentist for thirty-five years and has served the greater Denver area for over twenty. Additionally, both his uncle and brother are practicing periodontists in St. Augustine, Florida. Dan graduated from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in 2015. After graduation, he continued his education for an additional three years at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine to receive his post-doctoral certification in advanced periodontal, implant and surgical dentistry.
Besides dentistry, although it is often part of his trips, Dan enjoys enriching himself in cultural diversity. He has been to six of the seven continents and has visited over twenty-five different countries, but his favorite travel experiences usually involve rock climbing. His most recent trip took him to Southeast Asia where he traveled to Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore for climbing, surfing and scuba diving. In his free time Dan enjoys skydiving, paragliding, rock climbing, paddle boarding and recently he has picked up mountain biking. He also enjoys skiing and snowboarding in the winter as well as camping and fishing in the summer, making Colorado an ideal place for him to reside. He is passionate about providing the best patient care possible and is excited to begin his new career serving doctors and their patients as a periodontist in the Denver area. From the initial contact to the completion of my gum treatment (gum graft), the experience with Dr. Thousand and his team has been consistently positive and excellent. Dr. Thousand is incredibly thorough and accurate. Any questions are answered patiently and thoroughly. Periodontal Associates of Littleton has been great to work with. I just can't say enough about how great my experience was with Dr. Thousand and the staff. The facility was immaculate, the staff were professional and caring, but also had great senses of humor, which really made for an exceptional experience. Going to get gum grafts isn't fun to begin with, and Dr. Thousand has a phenomenal surgical hand, which is only surpassed by his bed side manner. Periodontal Associates-Littleton will be my new periodontal service provider for as long as they are in business. Again, I can't say enough about how amazing the whole process was. I highly recommend them.

Periodontal Associates - Littleton is the best place for your periodontal needs. They are friendly and reassuring, taking the time to answer all questions you might have about your procedure. Everyone, from the front desk to Dr. Thousand are efficient and kind. My gum surgery was quick and even though the recovery wasn't overly pleasant, it was quick and my results are excellent. I'm so glad I visited Periodontal Associates!

Dr. Thousand treated for me for gum recession. He and his staff were terrific. They carefully explained the procedure, giving me choices about the amount and type of sedation that would make me most comfortable and confident with the process. My outcome was very good. The difference between the before and after pictures was amazing!

My experience with Periodontal Associates of Littleton was outstanding. Dr Thousands practice is very professional and personable. He explained everything clearly and easy for me to understand.
