Dr. Aeschliman has been providing exceptional dental care at Perio Central since 2002. Created with a goal of compassionate, gentle dentistry, Perio Central is now known as the first choice for periodontal care and dental implantology.

Dr. Steve was born in Belgium and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 2. He grew up in the mountainous region outside Albuquerque, the first son of Dr. Daniel Aeschliman and Mrs. Wendy Aeschliman. He spent most of his childhood in the gymnasium, for which he received a gymnastics scholarship at the University of New Mexico. In addition to countless hours in the gym, he studied during off hours, and was honored to receive a full Academic Presidential Scholarship, as well as a partial music scholarship to play clarinet in the UNM symphony.
After receiving a BS degree in Biology and dual minors in chemistry and music performance, he attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he achieved his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1999. He was then accepted into the UMKC Periodontal residency, from which he received his Certificate in Periodontics in 2001.
He currently maintains a private practice in the specialty of Periodontics in Spokane, and has been an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Western Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, The ADA, and the WSDA. He has two children, a son Porter who is 11, and a daughter Sophia who is 9.
Dr. Steve has been published in the Journal of Periodontology, and teaches when possible for multiple groups and organizations. He was recently asked to be the Periodontist for a large study group in central Washington, for which he accepted, and presents for this group of colleagues about all aspects of periodontal treatment and its connection to systemic diseases. He was recently nominated and then acted as the head of continuing education for the Spokane District Dental Society.
Dr. Steve Aeschliman is committed to ongoing dental education. Continuing Education (CE) credits are required for maintaining licensure and staying current with new treatment therapies as well as existing skills, and he takes this responsibility very seriously. Dentistry is an ever-improving field of medicine, and the dental team at Perio Central is committed to providing exceptional dental care to their patients by continually learning and adapting to new information. He teaches other dentists, dental hygienists, and other groups on an ongoing basis.
Dr. Aeschliman has served on, and continues to be a reference for the Executive Committee of the Spokane District Dental Society (SDDS), and was the past head of continuing education for SDDS. He is actively involved in furthering the dental and medical education of dental professionals all around the inland Northwest. Dr. Aeschliman gives presentations to many different dental groups and organizations, and heads a study group for both dental hygienists and dentists in the area.
