Dr. Lyndsay Langston (Board Certified) received her dental degree from the Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry in 2005 and her Masters Degree in Science in 2009. She completed her graduate training from the United States Army Advanced Education Program in Periodontics in 2009. Dr Lyndsay joined Drs. Sugarman, Brunner, and Langston in June, 2012. Before joining us, Major Langston was Chief of Periodontics, Fort Drum, N.Y., where she was responsible for the periodontal and implant diagnosis and treatment of the soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division in the United States Army. Dr. Lyndsay and her husband, Dr. Brett Langston, an Atlanta prosthodontist, are the parents of two daughters and a son. While the kids activities occupy most of their parents time, the Doctors Langston do enjoy swimming, tennis and waterskiing. Dr. Lyndsay is a dedicated professional who enjoys working with the many long-term patients of our office and new patients seeking periodontal and implant treatment.
Having grown up in a family of dentists, Dr. Zach Kashlan received his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2015. He completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2016 and then returned to Atlanta to practice general dentistry. While practicing general dentistry, he developed a passion for periodontics while pursuing further training through continuing education courses in Implantology. Driven by the desire to perfect his craft, this passion grew further to become a pursuit of a full-time Periodontics residency training in 2018 at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. After completing the program, he and his wife returned to Roswell to reconnect with family. In his free time, he enjoys fitness, MMA training and traveling with his wife across the world. Dr. Kashlan was attracted to Perio Atlanta due to its prestigious reputation. He enjoys getting to know his patients and treating complex cases in periodontal and implant dentistry.
Dr. Richard Sugarman joined his father and brother in practice in 1978 after completing graduate training in Periodontics at Boston University. Dr Richard served as an instructor in periodontics at Emory University School of Dentistry from 1978 to 1982. He enjoyed organized dentistry and served as president of the GeorgiaSociety of Periodontists and on the Executive Council of the Hinman Dental Society. He was an Honorable Fellow of the Georgia Dental Association, a Fellow in the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists,and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He loved donating his services to the Ben Massell Dental Clinic where he was on the ExecutiveCommittee. Dr. Richard truly enjoyed the patients he had the privilege to help over his 40 years in practice. His patients appreciated his humorous chair-side manner along with his excellent care. Dr. Richard was warm, fun, and funny, an avid Atlanta sports fan who also loved hiking and travel. Dr. Sugarmanpassed away in September 2017 surrounded by family after sufferingfrom an unexpected illness. He is remembered asthe nicest guy, with kind heart, quick wit, and extraordinary memory to bring joy to family, friends, and patients.
Dr. Edward Sugarmanhas been an integral part of our practice for over 50 years. After completing his graduate training in Periodontics at Columbia University in 1966, Dr. Edward joined his father, Dr. Marvin. Between private practice, being a faculty member at Emory University School of Dentistry and a guest lecturer to many dental societies throughout the World, Dr. Edward stayed engagedin organized dentistry. He served as president of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation, the Hinman Dental Society, theGeorgia Society of Periodontists and the Emory Dental Alumni Association. Treating his many fine patients, has always been his honor and a privilege. His patients loyalty to his practice has always been a source of great pride and gratitude. He is looking forward to abusy retirement, spending more time with family, also playing tennis, bridge, reading, and travel and continuing his volunteer work at the Ben Massell Dental Clinic and with Second Helpings, providing unsold food to homeless shelters in the Atlanta area.
Dr. Marvin Sugarman (1915-2010) established this dental practice in 1938. He practiced dentistry enthusiastically and with great regard for his patients for 71 years until his retirement in 2009. He was a mentor and role model to us all.
Sandrais a dental hygienist who has practiced with the office for an extraordinary 38 years. She is a native Atlantan who attended Grady High School. She continued her education at the University of Georgia and then Loyola University in New Orleans to get her B.S. degree in dental hygiene. Sandra enjoys time with her children, her extended family, and her labradoodle, Abbey. In her spare time, she enjoys staying fit and traveling. She credits her longevity to the offices authentic interest in the best care of their patients. She says that the doctors treat their patients the old fashioned way. Sandra epitomizes the caring attitude towards both her patients and colleagues.
Nicolejoined the practice in August 2007 after relocating from Brooklyn, N.Y. where she worked for a periodontist in Manhattan for 11 years. She is a proud mother of Danielle (19), and Christopher (15), and takes care of her niece Alyana (9). Her three cats Mosby, London, and Miley are an important part of the family. Nicole lives in West Georgia and is enjoying every minute of the great outdoors that Georgia offers, which reminds her a little of her native island of Trinidad and Tobago, the land of the steel pan and calypso. She is extremely happy to have joined such a wonderful team of Doctors and staff and hopes to remain a valuable part of this family for many years to come.
Michelleis a proud member of our team. Originally from California, Michelle moved to Atlanta from Seattle. She has been in the field of dentistry for over 20 years. Her hobbies include cooking for friends and walking. She also enjoys watching football and caring for her two puppies, Tipsy and Peyton.
Shenitais our wonderful Office Manager. She joined our office as a dental assistant in 2006 after completing service with the U.S. Navy. She is the mother of four boys and enjoys spending time with family, reading, hiking with her husband, her 2 dogs and exercising. She enjoys our friendly environment with wonderful patients. The knowledge and history of the people here surpass any place that Ive been before. This is an office where patients are cared for and valueda place of ethics, morals and tradition.
Kim is very caring Patient Relations Specialist who has been with the office since 1992. She has an amazing ability to always make our patients feel welcome and comfortable. Kim is from Thomson, Georgia and has one son. She enjoys old movies, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She attributes her longevity here to the people with whom she works and to our patients.
Dianeis our receptionist and hygiene schedule coordinator. She has been with the office for 40 years and has served in many capacities (dental assistant, secretary, bookkeeper). Diane is a native of Atlanta and a proud mother of a son and a daughter. She enjoys traveling, attending football/baseball games and volunteering in her community. Diane has recently found great joy in caring for her grand puppy, Major. She credits her amazing longevity to the many relationships she has built over the years with patient and her peers. Diane has always lived by the famous Winston Churchill quote We make living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
