Matt Penz, DDS, and Penz Dental Care staff are committed to providing you and your family with quality, honest care.Dr. Penz grew up in Rochester, Minn. He is proud to return home to serve his community. Dr. Penz enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but he has a particular interest in biomimetic restorative dentistry.
Our services include:dental cleanings, sealants, fillings, extractions, root canals, restoration of dental implants, Invisalign, dentures, crown and bridge, veneers, teeth whitening, custom mouth guard creation, and more.
Dr. Penz is a graduate of Mayo High School in Rochester. He graduated cum laude from St. Olaf College in Northfield with a mathematics major and a biomedical studies concentration. While there, he played quarterback and served as captain of the Ole football team. To earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, Dr. Penz attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Upon graduation he received the 'Quality Care in a Caring Matter' award from the dental school faculty.
While Dr. Penz enjoys all aspects of dentistry, he has special interests in cosmetic and sports dentistry. He stays current with the ever-changing field through continuing dental education. Dr. Penz is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Minnesota Dental Association, and Zumbro Valley Dental Society.
A proud St. Olaf football alumnus, Dr. Penz participates in its club and fund raising events and follows the team's progress each fall. He is a fan of all Minnesota sports teams, especially the Vikings.
Annas professional demeanor will make you feel comfortable and cared for from the moment you sit in her chair. Rest easy knowing that Anna is doing everything she can to improve your dental health. Shes detail-oriented and thorough yet gentlequalities that come with years of experience as a dental hygienist.
When Anna isnt caring for patients, shes spending time with her husband and chasing after their three young children (AKA the most active family youll ever meetrunning, boating, golfing, and even slip-n-sliding together!). Her husband owns a construction company in Goodhue, Minn., and somehow they find time to work on projects on their early 1900s farmhouse.
When Cathy chose the dental field 22 years ago, she quickly learned that fear and anxiety often accompany patients while visiting the dentist. Her goal is to make patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared forlike they are family.
Cathy has called Rochester home since age 10. She loves to watch the citys development, especially in its art and outdoor activities. In her spare time, she grows a graphic design business, works on art projects, and trains for triathlons and running races (PDC Run Club, anyone?). Cathy and her husband Andy have two beautiful and spunky daughters, Piper and Parker.
Cathy is excited for the opportunity to join the PDC team and get the band back together. Having worked with both Dr. Penz and Anna in the past, she said, I love their approach to patient care and work environment. I am looking forward to the close-knit family feel of the practice.
Penz Dental Care has reignited my passion for what I do. Patient care will always come first here. Technology/technique advancements are also a priority in order to ensure the best is being offered to our patients.
Jess enjoys being outdoors, including kayaking, biking, running, hiking, snowboarding, and traveling. Shes married to Joel, and they have three dogs: French bulldogs, Padde and Ruby (both rescues), and a Chihuahua named Cowboy.
Kate is our go-to for marketing and patient communications. From the website to the waiting room, her priority remains the same: to make everyone who encounters Penz Dental Care feel cared for and welcomed.
A dental assistant since 2008, Lindsays love of making connections with her patients is immediately apparent. Often patients remark on her kindness, passion for high quality care, and desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
Lindsay enjoys learning and growing in her dental knowledge, especially as it relates to Penz Dental Cares emphasis on Biomimetic restorative dentistry. Lindsay says that she is excited to grow and provide care alongside this stellar team of dental professionals. We feel the same!
Lindsay and her husband Josh have two adorable children, Luna and Luka, along with two puggles, Bo and Maverick. In their spare time, they enjoy spending time with family at their cabin in northern Wisconsin. She also enjoys photography, a good workout, and solo Target runs.
Mindy will welcome you before your dental procedure with Dr. Penz and stay with you the whole way through. She has a calm, caring demeanor and a positive attitude that will make you feel relaxed. Her attention to detail means you will receive excellent care each time you're in the dental chair.

Brought daughter in for her cleaning and x-rays. We are brand new to Penz Dental. Everyone from Dani at the front desk, to Jess the hygenist to the Dentist was happy and very cheerful. My daughter left and said they were so nice. Happy to support a small family business as we are also small biz owners. We'll be back!

Dr. Penz has created a team and a dental experience like none other. I'm no longer nervous going in for an exam or procedure. I had my first visit today and it was fantastic! All of the team members were friendly and comforting. Cathy, hygienist, was thorough and gentle. I have met all the doctors and they are excellent! Dr. Wold completed my exam today and was knowledgeable and kind, he even smoothed off a small chip I had on a tooth while I was there. I will recommend their office to anyone looking for an amazing and professional dental home!

I had my first visit with Dr Penz for a second opinion and general check up. I found him and his entire staff to be very professional, extremely accommodating, and very thorough in the exam. After having been going to a corporate dental center for the past several years, I am so glad to be back with an provider. This is the best general dental practice I have ever experienced. Dr. Penz is smart and caring, the staff are gentle, and quite competent, efficient, and honest. They follow through and truly use the Mayo mantra "The needs of the patient come first." They are warm and friendly....it feels like seeing extended family members....who are happy that you've come for a visit ! They accept some dental insurance and have very fair pricing as well !

Outstanding staff! My dental care isn't those most straightforward and Dr Penz and his team handle my teeth so well. Always thoughtful about recommendations, very considerate of prior experiences, very supportive of my decisions in care. And they couldn't be more perfect with my son, making appointments with him a breeze!

I moved here I. January unexpectedly so I needed another dentist. I'm so very glad I found Penz Dental as all the staff and Dr. Penz are extremely professional and thorough. Anna provided one of the most thorough check ups and cleanings I have ever had. Dr. Penz was explained his findings and X-ray results carefully and gave me a treatment plan for two issues needing addressing. I have found my dental care home.
