Went for tooth cleaning today. Paperwork spoke of $40 fee for cancelling with less that 24 hrs notice. No problem, I said, IF I get a $40 credit if they cancelled me similarly. I was met with a stunned and perturbed look by office staff. They rejected it immediately. I asked they consult the Dr, which they did. Rejected. In my experience, this is only the 2nd Dr of any sort who refused to abide by their own rules in 7 states and over 4 decades. So I walked. In my experience, Drs who not not understand I value my time like they value their own seldom are worth the effort. Mutual respect is lacking when one cannot live by their own rules. This is not my definition of professionalism. It is an outdated elitist concept in which a Dr's time is more important than a patient's. I have lost thousands of dollars of time/leave from late Dr cancellations or no-shows. Walk the talk.

Years ago, I had a molar crack and it was horribly painful. I was referred to Penrose Dental. I called on a Saturday morning and Dr. VanAcker met me at the office and extracted my tooth (it HAD to go)! I've been a patient ever since! (My daughter is a patient, as well.) The staff at PDC are awesome and kind! And Dr. VanAcker is amazing (and has great taste in music)! I highly recommend Penrose Dental as they REALLY care about their patients!

I am so pleased with the care I received at this office! I am terribly afraid of the dentist and I was made to feel very welcome and safe here! Being 37 weeks pregnant and needing an emergency extraction, they excepted me last minute and got the job done! Everyone was kind and professional. Special thanks to Courtney and Dr. VanAcker! You both were great and I appreciate everyone in your office for getting me in quickly and taking good care!

I am so pleased with the care I received at this office! I am terribly afraid of the dentist and I was made to feel very welcome and safe here! Being 37 weeks pregnant and needing an emergency extraction, they excepted me last minute and got the job done! Everyone was kind and professional. Special thanks to Courtney and Dr. VanAcker! You both were great and I appreciate everyone in your office for getting me in quickly and taking good care!

I am from Colorado Springs and feel it is important to share my experience. I was referred to him by a family member that has attended his practice for 20+ years. His office is 1.5hr commute from my house so I knew from the start it might not be the best fit for me. Dr. VanAcker is indeed an AMAZING dentist and his staff was for the most part very kind and professional! He assisted me with a filing problem that was performed in Colorado Springs. He did an amazing job, and refused payment for service. I felt indebted and agreed to continue my cleanings there as a form of thanks for his kind actions. Again very much appreciated and these days unheard of! Thanks Dr. VanAcker! I kept my word and had a cleaning done by one of his hygienists which was also AMAZING! I feel it is important to share the next bit of information to prevent a problem for others, His office is a 1.5 hr drive from my residence as aforementioned. Again probably not the wisest choice admittedly so! I scheduled an appointment - had a family emergency arise and was unable to attend the appointment. I completely overlooked the fact that I should have called and canceled with sufficient notice. I accept full responsibility for this and feel absolutely terrible for any inconvenience I caused Dr. VanAcker or his staff. I understand Dr VanAcker's and staff's time/schedule is very valuable and respect that very much. I phoned the office today in an attempt to schedule an evaluation and reminded the office manger that I had missed an appointment and there was some question as too wether they would allow me to seek continued dental care at their office. She knew exactly who I was immediately! Hmmmm? The office manager explained she would speak to Dr. VanAcker and let me know what he suggests. Another amazing job and positive mention! The office manager did do just that! She phoned me back with in the half hour and explained that Dr. VanAcker refused to EVER see me again for my dental care. I accept my responsibility and own up 100% to my mistake of missing my appointment or canceling with sufficient notice and affecting the practice scheduled operations. That being said and considering todays climate we all could be a little more forgiving and considerate of others. Dr. VanAcker I am sorry to hear about your decision to never see me again! Thank you for assisting me in the past! I am your biggest FAN! I wish you, your family and your practice continued success in all your future endeavors! I am a healthcare worker myself often going the extra mile when it is not warranted! At my health care facility we continue to see people that miss appointments/ and don't have money to pay their bills. We continue to see people that don't treat us well, we go above and beyond for each and every patient each and everyday! We took an oath to do just that! That is what healthcare is all about! We forgive mistakes/shortcomings and send positive messages to others. We help others improve through education and teaching. We offer continued care to those who need and request it. We offer hope in hopeless situations. We smile when we want to cry and offer hugs even in challenging situations! This experience has motivated me to do even better each day for all those I care for. Thank you!

Alex is an amazing dentist. I have had a ton of work done in the last year and never any pain! I never have to sit and wait for my appointments. He is always right on schedule! His assistants are amazing also! They help make you feel very comfortable. For someone who a year ago was deathly afraid of the dentist and hadn't been in years, I can now walk in and joke and feel totally comfortable with Alex and his staff! His prices are also much more affordable than others! Just all around great! Would recommend to anyone for regular dental work, to implants, to dentures.
