This place will make you sign very unreasonably high price and when insurance will not pay such high price, they will send you bill in mail. I had my son's two teeth removal at this place and before surgery they looked my insurance and charged me $225 as copy. After 3 weeks they send me bill of $482.3 in mail, when I asked about clarification PA Oral & Maxillofacial Surg. told me that your insurance didn't pay the it. Insurance paid @ $140/tooth removal @ 30% coverage. PA Oral charged me @ $350/tooth, $700 for two tooth and Exam - Limited for $95 each and insurance paid them @ $32 which is market rate.

He fractured part of my jaw bone during a wisdom tooth removal and in addition to months of pain I now have periodontal disease in that one location only. I hope his skills have improved in the ensuing years but based on that one negative experience I can not recommend Dr. DeSalvo.

Across our family there have been six extractions and one implant, and I/we have been very pleased with the quality of Dr. Desalvo's work. His office isn't fancy, but his skills are excellent and his staff is competent.

EDIT I've left my original review as I'm still annoyed at how long it took for them to get back to me (I was recovering on July 4th ):< ), BUT Dr Desalvo did a great job on my teeth and does not deserve a bad review due to his staff! His office is very clean and does not feel at all unsanitary. For the actual procedure, I was asleep very quickly, he didn't make any mistakes in my mouth, he got me on the medications I needed to recover, and scheduled a follow up appointment right there in the office. The stitches were nearly perfect and held nicely until it was time for them to fall out. The after care sheet I was given was clearly written, which made things easy post procedure. All in all If it wasn't for the staff I'd recommend Dr. Deslavo to anyone who needs to get any oral surgery done, just not in a timely manner. I've been trying to get my wisdom teeth removed by them for over a month now. The receptionist keeps saying she's checking my insurance, and she'll call me within the week. First off, my insurance called them under my request since this is such a problem. I've waited several weeks for a phone call and never got one. I called them 3 times with that response. My jaw is in terrible pain from these teeth. If you want to be taken seriously like any client should, don't go here. This place is a joke.
