Dr. Darren Loew feels that orthodontics is the greatest profession on earth. It allows him to have a unique relationship with children at a very important time in their lives. It also enables him to help adults achieve better oral health and often do something they have always wanted but could not afford to do previously: show off a beautiful smile!
Dr. Loew attended Bucknell University where he received a Bachelor's degree in psychology and education. He completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, and his orthodontic residency was completed at Children's Hospital.
He serves on the faculty at Washington Hospital Center, where he teaches the orthodontic residents. This is a great way for him to keep up on the latest that orthodontics has to offer and give back to the profession he loves. Dr. Loew also attends many continuing education courses throughout the year.
Dr. Loew is very involved in the community as a local business owner and loves knowing, seeing, and interacting with so many wonderful people in and out of the office. He has been involved in the Rotary Club for many years and recently held the title of president of his chapter. He visits local schools and speaks to the third-grade classes about their dental health during Children's Dental Health Month in February.
Dr. Loew is married to his wonderful wife Liz, whom he met in college. They have four amazing children - Sarah, Katie, Meredith, and David - with whom he loves spending time and enjoys watching grow. When he has free time, he enjoys physical fitness, skiing, traveling, and of course, playing golf.

Orthodontics isnt always about attaining a pretty smile. Crooked, misaligned, and crowded teeth can often lead to additional dental problems and bite disorders. Also, when you straighten your teeth, you lower your chance of getting cavities, gum disease and TMJ disorders.
Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

I took my daughter here for the first time the other day. The office is so pretty and clean. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgable. I used to be scared going to the dentist when I was young, but my daughter had a great time and told everyone that she went to the dentist that day. She got a balloon on her way out and was all smiles. Great place.

All around amazing! I feel like a commercial saying this.but my 11 year old.daughter actually.likes going!!! She had severe anxiety with other dentists and refused to even open her mouth for 2 of them. And the third was able to do x-rays but only by holding her down (i wasnt allowed in the room due to Covid.or I never would have allowed it) and then they told us never to come back. It was bad! But then we found Pennington Ortho and they have been a Godsend!!!

That's worst experience, I took my two kids to do the cleaning, the Hygienist is really nice and good. However, the dentist is really bad, she told me my girl has 9 cavities and my son has seven cavities and need to extract two teeth, the treatment need ~$3000 after insurance payment. I take my kids to little teeth, the owner at little teeth can only found one cavity from my daughter and my son don't have to do the teeth extraction and do the root canal and crown. The worst thing is the dentist in Pennington Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry is practicing dentist, they submit the claim with the practicing doctor name as provider, not Pennington Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, my insurance denied, the dentist is under practicing and non Nonparticipating Dentist. Then they submit second time with Pennington Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, my insurance can not accept they submit claim twice, and only pay 20%. Now I should pay almost all of the clean fee. But actually the Pennington Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry is in the network from my dental insurance. We saw dentist many times, first happened. If I can, I will give 0 star

Everyone was amazing and very informative at the office. I brought in my four kids and they were able to see them all at the same time. Very clean, organized and kid friendly. My kids loved all the games and toys that was offered in the waiting room. Dr. and hygienist were thoughtful and really did an amazing job. I would recommend to anyone with kids!

AMAZING. From the front desk, to the office staff and hygienist to the dentist. Exactly the type of clean, friendly, supportive environment I was looking for, for our 2 year old with cavities. I felt such a relief leaving this office knowing our baby is getting the best care. Thank you guys

The biggest complaint i have is 99%of their clients are kids in school. The orthodontists are only here on Tuesday and Thursday ... latest appointments available are normally 4:00 (which is always taken). Be prepared for alot of missing school, half days. It would be nice if they would at least add in evening hours and more then two days a week.... Or even an occasional Saturday. Would like to add, 1 year in and the women whom puts the brackets back on continues to " blame" my son for causing them to fall off. He is just about on a puree diet and is VERY careful with what he eats and does. Seriously when we paid you $10 k the contract said ALL visits covered..... cant wait until we are done here....

There is a new receptionist there that is quite annoying. I understand that she may be trying to gain a good repertoire with patients and their families but it is overkill and very unprofessional. She talk extremely loud. Not everyone in the waiting area needs to hear anyones phone numbers, dates of next appointments, treatments, etc. Her laugh is very loud and excessive. Very annoying. Seems like they have been having some staffing issues. If this one stays, someone needs to tell her to keep it professional snd keep her personal comments to herself.

My toddlers first ever dentist visit and I couldn't be happier with the overall experience. The waiting room is clean and FUN for my toddler to hangout while he waited for his appointment. The dental hygienist was phenomenal and great with my son (he let her brush and floss with no problem) , the dentist she was just as incredible! After his cleaning and teeth examination they gave him two special prizes. Safe to say my son had a great first dentist visit and has been telling everyone he sees that he went to the dentist. We look forward to growing with them!
