Dr. Penley and her staff are dedicated to providing you with a pleasant visit. Our administrative staff is ready to help you with questions about scheduling, financial policy and insurance, to make that part of the process as simple as possible.
We would like to take the opportunity to partner with you for all your dental needs; let us keep your mouth healthy with dental cleanings, veneers, 6 Month Smile Ortho, etc. A healthy mouth leads to a healthier body.
We also know that many patients are too apprehensive to even come to the dentist. Dr. Penley understands that this apprehension is an obstacle for some to over come and are happy to offer nitrous oxide and oral sedatives.
Welcome to Penley Family Dentistry. I am Dr. Adrienne Varnado Penley. It is great to be back in my hometown of Picayune, MS. Growing up I attended South Side Elementary and Picayune Memorial High School. My parents are Richard Varnado and Grace Varnado. I am married to my wonderful husband Emmett Penley, who is also from Picayune.
My love for Dentistry started while Emmett and I were stationed in Yokosuka, Japan with the United States Navy. During this time, I had the opportunity to volunteer as a dental assistant with the American Red Cross. While assisting dentists, I witnessed the powerful results of a caring doctor-patient relationship. The fulfillment I gained when seeing the change in patients outlook that can accompany proper dental treatment instilled in me the desire to pursue a career in dentistry.
In 2010, I graduated from University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Medical Dentistry. My past experiences include volunteering with the American Red Cross, clinics that just focused on children and general family practices.
As a general dentist, I enjoy treating kids and adults. At Penley Family Dentistry we offer a wide variety of services to our patients; some of which are, Oral Sedation and N2O (laughing gas) to help ease anxiety, 6 Month Smiles Orthodontics, crowns, veneers, partials, dentures, implants and much more. I went to see Dr. Penley because a piece of tooth broke off and was causing me excruciating pain; however, since that tooth was going to be removed by Dr. Daho - (IN ONLY 12 SHORT DAYS - SO WHY COULDN'T I POSSIBLY PUT UP WITH A LOOSE PIECE OF TOOTH THAT CAUSES EXCRUCIATING PAIN EACH TIME MY TONGUE TOUCHED IT?) Afterall. It wasn't their mouth in pain!! Dr. Penley's fit me into her schedule within a day or so. Upon arrival an assistant took me in an exam room and I was treated as though she WAS WORKING FOR ME. AS THOUGH SHE WAS THERE TO TAKE CARE OF ME!!! She made me feel as though I truly had nothing to worry about.

I had bad experiences with dentists!!When I went to Dr. Penley's it was amazing the way everyone at that office treats you! You never have to wait and Dr. Penley is so gentle she never hurts you! You are very well taken care of!!!!

It pains me to share this because I really do like the staff and the dentist but I cannot in good conscience not say something. Prior to going to this dentist I was being charted at every appointment and had mild periodontal issues that I was in treatment for. I went to this dentist and thought I was fine because they said nothing and NEVER charted my teeth. I requested they chart my teeth today and the condition was WAY worse than I have ever charted. 1-3 is normal and I had a spot that was a 6. I have never had worse than a 4 and now I'm dealing with worse conditions because of what I can only describe as a lackadaisical approach to dentistry. I hope that this review helps the practice to tighten down on its standards and begin charting patients regularly so that more patients dental care doesn't go downhill like mine.

I have been to lots of dentists in my life, and Dr. Penley is one of the best! I had a dental implant with a partial plate attached, and I haven't had a single problem. She is very knowledgeable and congenial and her staff are very friendly and helpful as well. I highly recommend her and look forward to my continuing dental care there.

First and foremost, I AM TERRIFIED of dentists...! Because of a traumatic experience as a teenager, I am haunted every time I have to go, today was no different! BUT...it WAS different...! Upon learning of my fears, Dr. Penley and her staff made my experience, AMAZING...! and because of my fears, Dr. Penley voiced every step of my extraction, what she was doing, the sounds that I will be hearing and what to expect during my extraction. She was gentle, compassionate and her main concern was making sure I was comfortable, before I knew it, my tooth was out...! Oh I forgot one important thing, I didn't feel when she gave me the shots...! My only regret is not finding her sooner...! To Dr. Penley and her staff THANK YOU FOR MAKING TODAY'S EXPERIENCE THE BEST...!!!

Dr. Penley and her staff are amazing! This was my first time to visit Penley Family Dentistry and I felt right at home. Dr. Penley was so kind and thorough. Before the procedure she explained to me what I could expect and that helped to put my mind at ease. During the procedure she was gentle and very reassuring. After the procedure she took the time to answer any questions or concerns that I had. Dr. Penley truly cares about her patients, because she even went out of her way to call me after office hours just to check on me and make sure I was doing ok. I HIGHLY recommend Penley Family Dentistry and I can't thank them enough for going above and beyond.

Very welcoming office. The staff are super nice and friendly. Dr. Penley is very professional yet still treats you like family. I would recommend her to everyone.
