A native of the Bay Area, Dr. James strives to give his patients the highest quality of patient care. He strongly believes in customizing treatment to each patient's individual needs in a warm and caring environment.
Dr. James received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. He moved back to the Bay Area after completing his orthodontic residency also at University of Pennsylvania, where he served as the class president.
Dr. James is a specialist in orthodontics who prefers to time treatment so that patients do not need to wear their braces longer than necessary. Dr. James respects his patients' time and almost never keeps his patients waiting.
Alexis was born in Boston, Massachusetts and was raised in the East Bay where she graduated from Irvington High School in 1997. After receiving her Registered Dental Assistant license in 2001 she has been applying her knowledge at a pediatric and orthodontic practice for the past twelve years. She currently resides in South San Francisco with her husband, Jaysen and their three children, Janae, Jeramya, and Alani. Alexisand her family enjoy the outdoors so you can always catch them biking, hiking, camping, or playing at the park.
Alexis was born and raised in San Jose, CA abd graduated from Silver Creek High School. She is the mother of two boys, Joseph (8) and Aizik (5). Alexis is a dedicated baseball mom and spends her evenings and weekends on the baseball field with her boys. In her spare time, Alexis enjoys watching baseball, working out and spending time with her boys, family and close friends.
Amber, our scheduling Coordinator, was born and raised in San Bruno and currently lives in San Carlos. While Amber is brand new to the dental field, she is excited to learn the ins and outs of dentistry. She graduated from Capuchino High school in 2011 and is currently attending Canada College to finish up her general education. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her boyfriend, playing with her dogs, Buddy and Levi, and spending time with family.
Charissa was born in Palo Alto and raised in Redwood City. Charissa entered the dental field in 1999 as a treatment coordinator, she enjoyed it so much she went on to Dental School at Silicon Valley College where she graduated in 2004 and became a RDA. Charissa went back to school in August of 2013 at University Of The Pacific to further her education and graduated in May of 2014 as a RDAEF2. Charissa is the mother of two girls, Crystal and Delicia and on her free time she enjoys jogging outdoors.
Haileigh, our Clinical Supervisory, was born and raised in Tulsa Oklahoma where she began her orthodontic career in 1993. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Haileigh loves being a part of a team dedicated to providing the most advanced treatment options for patients. She enjoys cooking with her husband Danny while listening to rock music with her four children. She loves doing anything crafty, which is why orthodontics is the perfect job for her.
Kayla, our Financial Coordinator, was born and raised in San Mateo, California and currently lives in Redwood City. Although new to the dental field, Kayla is excited to learn lots of new and interesting things. Kayla graduated from San Mateo High School, where she discovered her passion for dance. She is an energentic person who likes adventures, spending time with friends, playing softball, or playing at the beach with her dog.
Rosa, our Treatment Coordinator, was raised in San Jose, California. She graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1990 and received her Dental Assistant certificate that same year. In 1998, Rosa received her Registered Dental Assistant license and has been in the dental field for over 20 years. She currently resides in San Jose with her dog Chico. Rosa is a proud mother of her son, Gary, who lives in LA. Rosa enjoys working out and hanging out with her son, family and friends.
Yvette was raised in and resides in San Mateo, California. She graduated from San Mateo High School in 2008. Yvette received her Dental Assisting certificate from College of San Mateo in 2010 and received her Registered Dental Assistant license that same year. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son, Adrian, and family.

I never needed braces as a child, but my bottom teeth crowded together over time in my adulthood, until they were so crowded that it hurt and my lower front teeth were literally breaking from bumping into the uppers. Dr. Tsau prescribed Invisalign for me, and he and his staff monitored my progress for 18 months. Now my teeth are PERFECTLY STRAIGHT!!! My gums are healthier too, because my teeth aren't so packed together. I HIGHLY recommend this procedure and also Dr. Tsau!!

Dr. James is awesome, always very carrying and makes you feel at home. Always explains the next steps and takes his time with you. Denise is so sweet always explains the process when helping with my daughter braces. The whole staff is very nice and helpful. I highly recommend Peninsula orthodontist.

Amazing experience for all five of our family members. "Dr James" and his staff are friendly, caring and professional. We had successful experiences with both regular braces and Invisalign. Highly recommend!!!

Very friendly, efficient, organized staff in a lovely office. I would recommend Dr. James and his team. As an adult doing Invisalign, I appreciate that I was not treated at a teenager getting braces for the first time. Dr. James had to make some changes along the way to get my teeth just right, and I appreciated his attention to detail.

Dr. James N.Tsau and his assistants are wonderful! I wish I could give them 10 stars! They are super professional, competent and so welcoming! It is such a happy place! I have had braces for a year and a half now and I love all the work Dr Tsau has done so far. I highly recommend this place.

FREE retainer replacement for life! Seriously. That sounds like the best reason to see Dr. James, right? There are more reasons to go to Peninsula Orthodontic Group. Dr. James Tsau is not only a nice person, but he's genuine. His staff is awesome! Both of my kids got their braces from Dr. James and they love him, too. He always takes the time to say hello. He remembers personal tidbits about not only his patients, but their family members as well. So much has changed with orthodontics than when I was younger. I remember many stories of friends and family having teeth pulled in order to have braces, well those days are gone (for most people). Do not wait until middle school for your kiddo to get evaluated for orthodontic work. Current practices allow for many people to keep their teeth and provide a 2-stage approach to keep roots healthy and strong. I highly recommend Dr. James Tsau.

Still, I ended up doing a consultation with Dr James where we discussed my options, potential timelines, and pricing, after which I quickly decided to go for it and committed to a full treatment with metal braces. Fast forward to today, i.e. three years later, and I can't list a single bad experience - my treatment, while lengthy, went very well and was mostly painless, and now I have a smile that I am proud of (and that is meticulously maintained by the retainers which I have to wear full-time for a few months). Everybody working at the office was always timely, informative, careful, and overall very positive, so I can't recommended having your ortho work done here enough.

Whether you are an adult patient or the parent of a child seeking orthodontics, you would be wise to select his office for either braces or Invisalign. His office is really modern and high-tech. It's obvious that he is simply a really good person. I can't imagine why anybody would go anywhere else.

My daughter had so much crowding, no room at all, I was really committed to preserving her teeth, no extractions. Dr James is amazing, we live his care and his careful treatment if patients but even better, we are done early and her teeth are all spaced evenly, and straight!!
