Your teeth are not the only important part of your mouth. Your gums are essential to oral hygiene as well. We can provide periodontal cleanings and treatment. Oral health is especially important when considering cosmetic dentistry procedures such as dental crowns and porcelain veneers.
For long-term maintenance and periodontal (gum) care, our team of outstanding and gentle dental hygienists is trained in traditional methods as well as the latest non-surgical and laser-assisted periodontal therapy (LAPT) techniques.
From the moment you enter one of our private treatment rooms, our dental assistant team will help you to feel relaxed. During treatment, relax in our comfortable dental chair while listening to music or watching TV or a movie. Warm neck pillows further aid in your total comfort. After dipping your hands into a soothing paraffin bath, we wrap you in a warm blanket to complete your feeling of well-being.
When your treatment is completed, warm lemon-scented towels are given to freshen your hands and face. Throughout your treatment, the assistant team will work with our doctors to help you remain comfortable.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, she graduated from Stanford University majoring in Human Biology. Her degree in dentistry from the prestigious University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco was earned with Honors. Dr. Shile did her post-doctoral General Practice Residency at the VA Palo Alto and Stanford Hospitals where she gained advanced dental training in prosthodontics and surgery. Dr. Shile is an active member of the California Dental Association and the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society.
Dr. Joseph Field is a native of the Bay Area. He loves all its beauty and diversity and is delighted that his career path has brought him home to the peninsula. Dr. Field is a respected leader in the field of cosmetic and implant dentistry. He is a caring provider unafraid to tackle extreme smile makeovers, and capable of compassionately guiding anxious patients to a smile that changes their lives. Care is the cornerstone of Dr. Fields vision and practice. He is dedicated to providing the highest quality care that focuses on the patient experience, meticulously and individually designed for each patient.
Dr. Fields dental education and experience are both vast and specialized, spanning two dedicated decades. He earned a B.S. in Physiology from Brigham Young University. His first exposure to dentistry came while on a service mission to Columbia where he observed the work of Operation Smile dentists. There he saw lives changed for the better and he came home intent on helping to do the same.
Dr. Field continued his studies at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. In sunny southern California, Dr. Field acquired a love of USC Football, a hatred for L.A. traffic, and most importantly, trained at a perennially top ranked U.S. dental school known for pioneering new techniques and conducting groundbreaking research. Dr. Field distinguished himself during his studies, winning awards and scholarships, and being elected president of the highest national leadership position in dental education.
Upon graduation from USC, Dr. Field was thrilled to return home to Los Altos and partner at the Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Fields education, experience, and focus on patient care ensure client comfort and optimal clinical outcomes with a wide range of cosmetic dental services and procedures, including smile makeover, implant reconstruction, full mouth reconstruction, Invisalign, and Zoom! whitening treatment. Patients agree that Dr. Fields advanced dental care has transcended beyond services and procedures to an artform where anxieties are eased, and stellar dental outcomes are expected in a caring, professional, and spa-like setting.
Dr. Field counts himself lucky to call Los Altos home, and even luckier to care for people in a community he loves. Outside his work hours, Dr. Field spends time with his beautiful wife, Meg, and their four busy kids. He enjoys playing basketball, attending sporting events, and breathing the pure mountain air on the slopes, water, and golf courses of Lake Tahoe.
Background And Specialties Dr. Supal grew up in Detroit, Michigan and is a graduate of the internationally, distinguished University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Karl is a perfectionist who focuses on providing predictable results for his patients by practicing evidence-based dentistry.
Dr. Karl takes pride in explaining treatment options in a way that his patients can understand, so they know exactly what to expect from their treatment. He prefers to streamline treatment for his patients, making it as efficient as possible to fit their schedule. He likes to spend his free time working out, playing basketball, hiking, skiing, and watching sunsets.

Stephanie is great. Explains everything very well, is friendly and very proficient at her job. I've been going here for 8 years and have always had a great experience. Strongly recommend. Good luck getting an appointment though - they have long wait times. :)

I have been going to the Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry for seven years since I moved from Texas to Los Altos, CA. Stephanie Houston my Dental Hygienist and Dr. Joseph Field my Dentist are both kind and amazing, and have made my teeth perfect. Also, by the way, Dr. Field is one of the top Cosmetic Dentists in Silicon Valley.

Such an amazing office! I am so thankful for Dr. Shile & Angie for doing such an incredible job on my front tooth crown. Dr Karl is the best. I had an intense tooth ache and contacted them at 7AM. The staff was considerate of my request to schedule an appointment at 8and my bad tooth was removed by 9. Overall amazing service and highly recommend it.

A month ago I came for a consultation with Dr. Karl Supal. Got my procedure done last week for a Crown and two fillings. I can't appreciate how much patience and care from Dr. Supal and his team are. They make me feel very welcomed and gave me a bag of welcome dental goodies (Strawberry flavor floss, Chapstick, brush, toothpaste)! I was very thankful they are able to do IV sedation where you are under twilight sleep sedation. I have very high anxiety and gag reflex. Everyone has been super supportive and made me less anxious to get my procedure done. Gave me a couple of reminders and answered all my anxious questions. Amazing team and can't wait to come back next year for another planned procedure in 2023. No pain at all! Thank you so much!

I had an amazing experience from start to finish with everyone at PCCD! I've been thinking of getting my smile makeover for several years and have consulted with several cosmetic dentists, but I'm so glad I finally decided on PCCD. I had my final installation of my 20 veneers yesterday 8/31/20 and absolutely LOVE the outcome. I was pretty particular with what I wanted and Dr Fields and team went above and beyond to give me even more than I expected with my final outcome for my smile makeover! Would recommend them to anyone that wants the best of the best! Their cost is definitely worth the results!

I finally found a Dentist who helped me over come my anxiety and dental fear. Dr Fields is so calm and understands how to make the patient feel at ease. He created a stunning and beautiful smile by suggesting the color and shape of Veneers. I had two dental implants and didn't want Sleep Sedation. I had Nitrous Oxide and Novocain which kept me pain free and relaxed. The procedure was over in 30 mins. No high pitched drill and impressions are done using a computer. The 4 min set up waiting for the substance to harden was torture for me in the past. I drive 80 miles one way to be a patient at Peninsula Cosmetic Dentistry. Its a relief knowing I found the best Dentist for my needs. Staff and office decor is like being in a spa.
