Dr. Stamey is from Aiken, South Carolina. He graduated from Aiken High School, and then attendedPresbyterian Collegeto complete hisB.S. Degree in Biology. Upon graduating from the MUSC College of Dental Medicine, Dr. Stamey spent several years practicing dentistry in the rural, underserved areas around Chester, Charleston, and McCormick, S.C.
In 1994, Dr. Stamey purchased the existing practice of Dr. John Young in Pendleton, S.C, and has enjoyed serving the dental needs of his patients under the office name of Pendleton Dental Care. Over the ensuing 28 years, he has been very proud to see the practice continue to grow and flourish.
Dr. Stamey and his wife, Patty, have one son, Matthew,who is currently a student at Clemson University. They are all active members of Trinity United Methodist Church in nearby Anderson, SC.Dr. Stamey enjoysbicycling, hiking, snow skiing, boating, canoeing, and travel of any kind. Dr. Stamey enjoyed coaching youth baseball for many years and has served as an assistant Boy Scout leader. He has a passion for Clemson sports and the Atlanta Braves. Dr. Stamey recently completed the SC Upstate Master Naturalist Class throughClemson Universityand the SC DNR and is now a part-time tour guide (kayak and pontoon boat) with Jocassee Lake Tours. Since opening his practice, Dr. Stamey has actively supported local schools and civic organizations and enjoys sponsoring or participating in community activities.
Dr. Stamey is a member of theAmerican Dental Associationandthe South Carolina Dental Association.He currently serves on the Board of Directors at the Clemson Free Clinic and Tri-County Technical College's Dental Assisting Program's Advisory Committee.
