For more than 35 years, Dr. E. Dale Behner has provided superior dental care to residents of central Indiana. In 2000, he began practicing at his current location in Fishers, Indiana where he offers the most advanced oral-health technology and techniques. While he is considered an excellent cosmetic dentist, he offers a wide range of dental services including family dentistry, implant dentistry, and sedation dentistry. Sedation dentistry focuses on creating a relaxing and pain-free environment for dental patients.
Dr. Behner received his doctorate of dental surgery degree from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1984. As a general practice resident at Indiana University Medical Center from 19841985, Dr. Behner introduced conscious sedation techniques, both intravenous and oral, to the program, and then continued to teach these methods as an assistant professor until the program closed in 1988. Dr. Behner is a graduate of the nationally recognized Pacific Aesthetic Continuum (PAC-Live) and is a fellow with the Academy of General Dentistry. He maintains a private practice in the Carmel area with an emphasis on sedation, implant and cosmetic dentistry and is on the active medical staff at Eskenazi Healths Department of Dentistry. With this knowledge and expertise, Dr. Behner is available to speak on a variety of oral-health topics. He has been featured numerous times as a TV Guest, Lecturer & Consultant.
From its inception in 1998, Dr. Behner has volunteered for the Smiles for Life Foundation. The Smiles for Life Foundation is the childrens charity organization of the Crown Council. Each year over a four-month period, Crown Council dentists participating in the Smiles for Life campaign offer teeth whitening at less than their normal fee and donate 100 percent of the cost to childrens charities across the United States and Canada.
In addition to volunteering with Smiles for Life, he volunteers his time with Esperanza International providing dental care to the underserved areas of the Dominican Republic. Dr. Behner also helped rebuild a church that was destroyed by a hurricane in Honduras.
He is a member of the Indianapolis District Dental Society, Indiana Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, American Dental Association, Charter member of the American Academy of Oral Systemic Health, Crown Council, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, Fishers Chamber of Commerce, and Kiwanis Club of Cicero Indiana. Dr. Behner is a charter board member of the International Business College School of Dental Assisting. He is also proud to be a charter member of The Alliance of Fishers Dentists. The mission of the newly established charitable organization is to bring local dentists together in order to collectively give back to their community. He is a member of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, the First Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce since 1999.
Dr. Pence is a Noblesville native and a 2005 Noblesville High School graduate. His dental career started over ten years ago when he was accepted into the dental hygiene program at Indiana University School of Dentistry earning an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 2009 followed by a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene Public Health in 2010. After practicing clinical dental hygiene for 5 years, Orey resumed his studies at Indiana University School of Dentistry receiving a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in the spring of 2018. Some of you may have had the opportunity to experience his comforting manner and excellent skills while filling in as a substitute dental hygienist in our Fishers, IN, office.
Dr. Pence, DDS, is excited to be here at Pence Family Dentistry so that he may help patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health. He strongly believes that oral health is only one component of a more holistic approach to overall well-being and strives to accomplish that for his patients through minimally invasive dentistry.
Dr. Pence currently resides in Fishers, IN, with his beautiful and loving wife, Christy, and their two mischievous pups: Pickles and Rudy. They both enjoy spending time with friends and family. Dr. Pence abhors all things related to exercise, is a proud Hoosier, Colts fan, and wannabe gearhead.

These are not only the most caring people in dentistry, but they also work miracles! Nearly 20% of my wisdom tooth broke off completely and they were able to REPAIR it. Not crown but repair the tooth! Didn't even need novocaine or sedation (and I'm a very nervous patient). Do not hesitate to put your trust in Dr. Pence and his staff!

I love the staff so much! You feel like part of the family. Cher always welcomes me with a big smile and asks about the family. Julie is so pleasant and does a great job cleaning my teeth while chatting with me about life. Brittany is the sweetest and has such an amazing attitude. This is the first time in my life I have actually looked forward to going to the dentist.

My wife and I have gone to Dr. Behner/Pence Family Dentistry for more than 20 years and can't imagine going anywhere else. The staff is incredible! I once had an issue with a tooth and Dr. Behner came in on Saturday to help me. Their dedication to their patients is incredible. We would highly recommend them.

I've been going to Dr. Pence and his practice for several years and they have ways been fantastic. They treat me like I am the only patient they have, always work with my schedule and are the most gentle and careful dental office I've ever been to.

My family has gone to this dentist office since I was in high school back in the 80's. Dr. Behner was incredible and Dr. Pence is great. He's doing a great job taking over for Dr. Behner after he retired. All the girls in the office are incredible and they feel like family. They have always taking incredible care of us! The very best dental experience i have ever had (if there is such a thing). Had crown work done and was painless. The invent of that topical numbing before shots is the greatest thing since the 30 pack. The staff is extremely professional but also personable and fun. The new dentist (Pence) is very good and a great bedside manner, treats you like a person and not just a paycheck. I highly recommend this practice. Great staff very professional and just like family. I enjoy every visit. I have been a patient of Dr. Behner since 2011 and now I am being seen by Dr. Pence. Both dentist are very good at what they do. Hats off to the whole team from the receptionist, hygienists and dentists.
