Dr. Micah Vermeer is a 2009 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He is a native of Sioux Center, Iowa and graduated from Central College in 2005. It was during his time at Central College that Micah became acquainted with the Pella Family Dentistry team. Dr. Micah began his career with Pella Family Dentistry immediately after graduation from dental school in 2009.
Dr. Micah enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but has a specific interest in oral surgery, restorative dentistry including replacement of missing teeth, and cosmetic dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association and the Des Moines District Dental Society. At various times throughout the year, Dr. Micah serves as adjunct faculty for the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where he mentors fourth-year dental students during their clinical rotations at Broadlawns Dental Clinic in Des Moines, Iowa.
Dr. Micah is married to Liz Vermeer, who is a physical therapist at Kinetic Edge in Pella. They have four daughters: Sophia, Claire, and twins Nora and Eve. With any free time, Dr. Micah has many outdoor hobbies including golfing, cross country skiing and ice fishing.
Dr. Maegan Scott is a 2010 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and a 2004 graduate from Simpson College with a biology major and chemistry and theater minors. She is originally from Stratford, Iowa.
Dr. Maegan enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but especially enjoys restorative and pediatric dentistry. As a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Maegan has been recognized for excellence in care for the geriatric and special needs population.
Dr. Maegan lives in Pella with her husband, Jeremy, who works at LDJ Manufacturing. They are parents to Quintin, Stella and Camden. Dr. Maegan loves spending time with her kids and family, but in her free time, she enjoys camping, biking, riding horses, gardening, reading and Hawkeye football. Go Hawks!
We are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. Our staff is trained and skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Each member of our treatment team is a registered assistant, and our office staff has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the latest in technological advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.
Barb has been a part of our team since February of 1993. She resides by Lake Red Rock with her husband, Duane. They have two grown and married daughters, Katie and Lisa. She loves being a grandma to Mason, Brynlee, Olivia and Allison. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, biking, and spending time with friends and family.
Deana has been part of our team since May of 2003. Deana and her husband, Chuck, moved to Pella with their three children, Andy, Cassie and Jake, in 1996 after her husband retired from the Army. Deana enjoys crafting with her Stamp Club, canning and spending time with friends and family, especially her two grandsons, Oliver and Elijah.
Julie has been part of our team since May of 2009. She is married to Shawn, they have two children, Whitney &son in law Jake and Colton along with her grand pups Mille & Hank. In her free time, she loves to cook, travel and spend time with family and friends.
Lynn has been a part of our team since March 2021. She is married to Tom and they have two grown and married children, Brian and his wife Becca along with their daughter Kristin and her husband Kyle. In her spare-time she enjoys relaxing at home with family and friends, being outdoors and cooking and trying new recipes.
Kelsey has been a part of our team since November of 2021. She and her husband Wes, reside outside Montezuma, where they farm and own livestock. She spends most of her time keeping up with their two sons, Tripp and Hank. In her spare-time she enjoys spending time taking her boys on adventures, hunting for treasures at flea markets, and spending time with family at the Iowa State Fair every August.
Carrie has been a part of our team since December of 2000. She lives northeast of Pella with her husband, Mike, and their two daughters, Ashlyn and Isabel. Carrie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening and working on their hobby farm.
Krysta has been a part of Pella Family Dentistry since July of 2013. She lives in Lynnville with her husband Logan, and their two sons Rhett and Bridger. Krysta enjoys walking their family Golden Doodle Tucker, playing outdoors with her sons, and going to hobby lobby!
Bailey has been apart of our team since August of 2019. She is from the little town of New Sharon, IA, she got her dental assistant education from DMACC in Ankeny. In her free time she enjoys boating, being on the farm, spending time with friends and family, and cheering on the Iowa state cyclones!
Becca has been a part of our team since November 2018. She is originally from Sully but currently resides in Oskaloosa. Outside of work she enjoys attending country concerts and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, especially her niece and nephew, and her dog
Katie has been a part of our team since June of 2012. Katie grew up on a farm in Minnesota and is a 2012 graduate from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She is married to Jason who is a high school business teacher at Knoxville High School. Katie takes pleasure in playing with and raising their Daughter, Cece, binge watching TV shows,and sitting on the patio.
Kendra has been a part of our team since August of 2018. She resides in Ottumwa with her husband Jeremy, their children Evelyn, and Conrad. Im her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cheering on her children in their various sporting events, or catching up on the latest TV shoes and movies.
Candace has been a part of our team since January of 2019. She grew up in Chillicothe, Missouri, and is a 2017 graduate of the University of Missouri Kansas City. Outside of work Candace enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to concerts, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones!
Erin has been a part of our team since September of 2020. She was born and raised in Alaska and moved to Iowa in 2017 to pursue her dream of becoming a hygienist. She resides in Pella with her son Carter. Outside of work she enjoys cooking, traveling the United States and spending time with friends and family.

Highly recommended! We are new to the area and took a chance that the excellent reviews of Pella Family Dentistry were on par with what we would experience, and 100% they were. I cannot emphasis enough how impressed I was with my experience. I have been getting regular cleanings and check ups for over 40 years and this was the best experience I have ever had at a dentist office. The entire staff was friendly, took time to answer my questions, and experts at their jobs. The equipment was cutting edge, the facility was extremely clean.

My daughter chipped her front teeth over Memorial Day weekend playing in a hotel pool. Pella Family Dentistry got her in first thing on the Tuesday morning after (thanks to a cancellation) and within an hour and a half her teeth looked like new again.

Make sure you double check what the estimate they give you is with your insurance company. I had 3 cavities I needed filled, and they gave me a quote to get them filled after insurance which was around $180. That was fine with me so I got the work done. When I got finished, they charged me around $186 and said that if there was any more I needed to pay they would send a bill in the mail. A month later, I got a bill for $140 on top of what I already paid. If it was $20, or even $40 more than the estimate, no big deal.. but this was almost double. I called the insurance company, and they told me they only cover a certain amount per cavity. When I called the dentist back, they basically told me that their estimate is a complete guess based on other people's insurance, not what I had. Then I was told that if it were an in house insurance company, they would have had to pay the difference, but since my insurance was not in house to them, they wouldn't pay a dime. I felt like i should have been notified that the estimate was not based on my personal insurance, and that I needed to contact my insurance for a more accurate estimate. I will not be using this dentist again.

I had been seeing Dr. Meghan Scott for several years, but when a job change moved me out of town, I switched to another dentist. I had a few issues with my new dentist, so I ended up coming back to Pella Family Dentistry. Dr. Meghan and her staff are kind, courteous, and professional. and I enjoy every visit.

I had been seeing Dr. Meghan Scott for several years, but when a job change moved me out of town, I switched to another dentist. All the staff was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly! I also really appreciated how the set-up was kid-friendly and how the hygienists talked to my kids about ways to brush their teeth better. My toddler hasn't stopped brushing his teeth since we got home. Dr. Vermeer also talked with me about each child and answered my questions.
