Dr. Russell Turner established this dental practice in 1978 and has been providing the best dental care in the Pelham area for over forty years. Dr. Kentros is excited to continue the legacy of high quality care.
Pelham Dental Care provides comprehensive general dentistry. Our services include cleanings, fillings, root canals, crowns, bridges, cosmetic dentistry, and solutions to replace missing teeth, such as dentures or dental implants.
He completed a Bachelors of Science in Biology at The University of Alabama in 2011 and received his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2016. Dr. Kentros furthered his dental education by completing a General Practice Residency at the UAB hospital in 2017.
Dr. Kentros is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Alabama Dental Association, and the Alabama Academy of General Dentistry. He is also a member of the Pelham-Alabaster Rotary Club.
In his free time, Dr. Kentros enjoys traveling with his wife, Dr. Megan Kentros, who is an Optometrist at Inverness Eye Care. His other hobbies include playing the drums, lifting weights, and spending time with his dog, Flint.
Dr. Russell Turner has been practicing dentistry in Pelham since 1978. He attained his dental degree from the UAB School of Dentistry in 1976. While attending undergraduate studies at The University of Alabama, he met his future loving wife Linda and they were married in 1973. They have two adult children, and when he isnt busy caring for his patients, one of his top priorities is spending quality time with his extended family, including four beautiful grandchildren.
A few of his hobbies are boating and fishing, hiking, and just being outdoors. On certain saturdays in the fall, you may find him cheering on The Alabama Crimson Tide. Dr. Turner and his wife Linda enjoy traveling and are excited for the opportunity to travel more in the coming years.

I would give Pelham Dental Care, Dr. Kentros, and his staff six stars if possible. I broke a tooth and they arranged to have me taken care of quickly. The new technology of the 3D scanner and 3D printer allowed Dr. Kentros to quickly and accurately make me a replacement temporary crown in his office that day which felt wonderful. Dr. Kentros gave me a detailed explanation of the process and patiently answered my questions. I was fortunate to have not broken off a larger portion of the tooth which would have required an implant, but it was reassuring to find out that Dr. Kentros does dental implants as well. One of the dental assistants was telling me they had all ready performed two dental implants that morning. His entire staff was knowledgeable and courteous. I will be returning to Pelham Dental Care for future needs.

This was the best dental experience I've ever had. The staff were courteous and it was the most efficient medical office I've ever been in. From the time I checked in to the time I left was about 30 minutes. I was really impressed.

I normally HATE going to the dentist. I usually put off going because the hygienist is usually so rough I am sore for multiple days. HOWEVER, that was not the case at Pelham Dental Care. My hygienist Erica and Dr Kentros were so friendly and comforting. I never hurt not one time. The office staff was very friendly as well. I may no longer hate going to the dentist.

If you are new to the area and need a dentist, I just had the most amazing experience at this clinic. I hate (yes, hate) going to the dentist (even though I've gone every 6 months for probably 45+ years) and this was by far the best experience I've ever had! Everyone was so kind - so kind, so gentle - so gentle, and just all-around top notch. We moved here from Southern California right before the pandemic shut the world down and knew no one. It's been so hard finding new, well, everything after having the same nurse practitioner (who I loved so much) and dentist for 25+years in Southern California. We love Alabama. People care. And, this office is fantastic! Just wanted to share.

Today was my first visit and everyone was great! Anna was my hygienist and did a great job and Dr. Kentros was thorough and so kind! They went over my dental plan for the future and explained everything!! It was a great and pleasant visit!! Highly recommend
