At Pediatric Eyes and Smiles, its our mission to provide specialized, comprehensive, and compassionate eye and oral healthcare for infants, children, and adolescents. Our vision is to positively impact a childs vision and dental experience to promote a lifetime of flourishing health. As a locally owned small business, we seek to be integral to the fabric of the close-knit community we live in, serving families both inside and outside of our office walls like we would our very own and keeping kids at the center of our care.
At Pediatric Eyes and Smiles, we believe in helping our local community. That is why we have partnered with the Greater Urbana Area Food Bank, Soles of Love, and other local organizations to provide free dental and vision care to children in need. We do not ask for money for our services, only their time in 'Paying It Forward' by volunteering and helping others in the local community. By spreading these acts of kindness, we hope to create a more caring society.

Dr. Ashley Wong is a local girl, born and raised in Maryland. She is a passionate pediatric optometrist and mother of two adorable kiddos. Dr. Wong takes pride in helping children enjoy life with healthy, beautiful vision and developing meaningful relationships with families in the community she cherishes most.
Born and raised in Northern California, Dr. Steven Tans love for dentistry was first sparked when he shadowed his local dentists and observed firsthand the power of a smile. Today, he knows he has the most rewarding job changing the lives of children as a pediatric dentist. In his spare time, you can find Dr. Tan being a dad, playing with his Shiba Inu dog, and following up on everything sports related!

Fantastic place to bring your kids. They've got so much to accommodate and help children (and adults) be comfortable and enjoy their time there. I absolutely love the uniqueness of this establishment! Need a dental checkup for your child? This is the place. Need an eye exam for your other child? Got you covered as well! It's great to be able to come to the same place for both things and make good use of your time. Doctor Tan, Doctor Wong, and the staff are amazing with children and would highly recommend PEAS!

Dr. Tan takes care of my kids well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The clinic is very clean and equipments are well sanitized and stored.

Finally a dentist that we all look forward to seeing! Dr. Tan and his team are awesome with kids and parents. From their professionalism and knowledge to explaining and letting the kids touch the tools before the procedure, they make everyone feel at ease which is a big plus with kids. When you first walk into the door, you're greeted with friendly staff with a smile then led to the back. Dr. Tan explains what will be done, shows the kids which tools he'll use and what sound it makes. He also puts the tool on the kids' hands to let them feel how it feels like. This helps a lot with my kids because it explains where the noise comes from during the procedure. They also explain all the procedures and bills with parents which is awesome. It's really refreshing to hear from my kids that they look forward to seeing Dr. Tan and his team. The kids get to pick a movie to watch and talk to about what prizes they want to pick from the prize wall. At the end of the treatment, my kids have smiles on their faces, not tears. It's tough to find a great doctor with friendly staff but PEAS managed to do both! If you're looking for a patient, knowledgeable and professional pediatric dentist, I highly recommend PEAS. PS. The office is so clean, colorful and inviting!

My husband and I took our newborn here to be looked at for tongue and lip tie. Dr. Tan was amazing with him and with us as first time parents. Such a kind person to work with, you can tell her really cares and is a great person which is what you want for your child plus he is so knowledgeable in his profession. He made sure we knew what was going on every step of the way. Would recommend for anyone! We both left the office raving about him. Will bring Manolo back for sure when he's older!

Just went here for my son's first dental check up. He's 13 months old and needless to say that I was worried how it's gonna go, given that it's challenging even for me to get into his mouth sometimes. I had no idea how the dentist will be able to make any assessment and do the cleaning. Also, I really wanted to make sure that his first experience is positive, as you really can't undermine the importance of regular dental check ups.. Thankfully, none of my fears came true! The entire appointment was a breeze! Dr Tan took his time to get to know us and walked us through the next steps. I really appreciated all the tips and advice he has given us on toddlers' dental care. His holistic approach really resonates with me and I liked how this was not just a formal question/answer type of conversation, but a very engaging dialog. The actual cleaning took just a couple of minutes and it was important for me that Dr Tan established contact with my son first and only then slowly and carefully proceeded, explaining everything he does. I am their patient for life and will definitely recommend to everyone I know!

Dr. Tan was superb. I came to this center for a second opinion regarding my daughter's dental issue. Dr. Tan treated my daughter as his own. He was very honest, calm-mannered, and comforting. Most doctors don't expect patients or parents to understand much, and so they don't explain anything. This was far from the case with Dr. Tan. He really took his time and explained everything thoroughly. He treated each of my questions with equal importance. He was fantastic, and I recommend him to everyone!

Dr Tan is great with our son. He loves going there and watching movies while getting his teeth cleaned. He also loves the prizes he gets after his visit. Highly recommend this pediatric dentist if you are looking for a pleasant change. Best I have been to yet!

I was very impressed with the level and quality of service my daughter received. Dr. Tan is extremely knowledgeable and made my 5 year old feel very comfortable during her visit. I felt like we got more than your average dental exam at this practice.

We met the team at the Urbana Carnival, two years in a row. They seemed like great people. And our eventual first visit confirmed this. - I liked how they used a camera to take pictures of all of my daughter's teeth. Obviously, there was no way she'd sit still for xrays. Also, they gave her a pair of sunglasses to shield her eyes from the bright lights. She loved them. - We used PEAS even though they didn't take our insurance. They were up front of what our visit would cost out of pocket; no surprises. - They had large TVs on the ceiling for the kids to watch during the exam. It was her choice of what to watch on Disney+. - My daughter ended up not cooperating, and we were unable to complete a cleaning. That service was subtracted from our bill, even though that was in the original quote. - The dentist explained what he was able to see in the pictures and with a quick look into her crying mouth. He found things that her previous dentist never found in the previous 3 visits. Things that we really need to pay attention to as she she gets older - The staff were very nice, helpful, and patient - She got to pick a prize off the prize wall - She got to put her name on the cavity-free board Overall, it was a great, welcoming experience. We will be back in 6 months, hopefully with a different insurance provider!

Everything from the second we walked in the door until the time we left was so far beyond AMAZING. Friendly staff and out-of-this-world providers! I can't recommend them enough! If you have small children.. go nowhere else.. this is your place!

My son had his first cavity filled today. He has had some recent challenges lately and I was expecting it to be stressful. However, Dr. Tan walked him through everything he was doing and they were even singing and talking about all of their favorite Pokemon characters by the end of the appointment. I highly recommend PEAS and I'm glad we finally found a pediatric dentist that is a perfect fit for our family! Thank you, Dr. Tan!

The BEST pediatric dentist we have ever had! My daughter is extremely anxious and has had some pretty intense dental work, which basically left her terrified of the dentist. PEAS was so patient and attentive to her needs. They talked to her, not me, which made her feel safe and heard. My little lady left with a giant smile on her face and is not scared to go back (her words). I am so happy we found them! Thank you PEAS team!
