Pediatric Dentistry of Round Rock was established in 2002, and our mission is to enhance the lives of the patients and families we serve by providing the best individual dental experience in a fun, friendly, and safe environment. We want our patients to know that their comfort and positive experience is our top priority, and we encourage them to keep smiling. From the moment you enter our doors and see the happy faces on our team, to the moment you head home, we create a caring and calming environment that encourages our patients to be excited about their oral health. We really want our patients to feel at home, offering amenities such as Wi-Fi, television in the waiting rooms, and blankets and pillows for added comfort.
Oftentimes children experience a fear or negative personal attitude associated with the dentists office, but we aim to relieve them of any anxiety or stress with a welcoming, relaxing, and fun environment. Our team works closely together to make this wish a reality, and because of it, our young patients leave feeling much better about their smiles. Hi! My name is Sage Thames I was born and raised around Lubbock, Texas. I have the great pleasure of being both a University of Texas Longhorn and a Texas Tech Red Raider! During college I was a member of the Track and Field team as a pole vaulter where I was part of a Big XII championship as well as a two-time NCAA Division I All-American. After college, I attended dental school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and received my DDS degree in 2010. I then practiced as a general dentist in Lubbock until 2012 when I met my wife and relocated to Austin. As a general dentist, I was involved with local and state organizations including the Capital Area Dental Society as well as the Texas Academy of General Dentistry and in 2016 was nominated by my peers as New Dentist of the Year for Texas.
After several years of practicing general dentistry, I found my passion was working with and educating children as well as patients with special needs. In efforts to provide the most comprehensive and safe treatments available, I made the decision to pursue specialty training in pediatric dentistry. I completed a 24-month residency program in pediatric dentistry at East Carolina School of Dental Medicine. My wife and I have a one-year-old son and are excited to be back around friends and family! In my free time, I enjoy being with family, anything outdoors and spending time in west Texas on the family ranch.

Dr. Thames was highly recommended by dental colleagues. He went over treatment options in detail and answered all my questions and concerns. His staff is extremely friendly, upbeat, and have years of experience. They made my daughter feel safe and comfortable throughout her dental work. He did a great job and will recommend my pediatric patients to see Dr. Thames.

All of the staff treated me and my daughter so well. And they made her first dentist visit so easy and stress-free for both of us, and she even got a balloon at the end. I couldn't recommend them enough, and I found my daughter's dentist for life!

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Thames and his team! I have worked in the dental field for over 10 years and I found the communication to be very clear and open from the clinical staff all the way to the administrative team. This was my sons very first treatment and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The office was very clean and the assistant was great with my son. The procedure was quick and painless.

My daughter has been going here since she was 3 and she is now 13, almost 14, and we have loved every appointment experience. Although a minor problem is that the teeth assessment score seems to be a little faulty. They told my daughter she had done a perfect job brushing and flossing her teeth, and that she did not need to improve in cleaning them one bit. Even on her evaluation sheet the said her teeth cleaning was perfect. But they still gave her a worse score than her last visit when they told her she needed to improve. Other than that, ( which is a small, small peoblem) they are the best dentist any of my kids have ever been to. Which is saying a lot considering i have 8.

Dr Sage is an extremely nice person. He cares about his patients and he is very knowledgeable. He made us as parents feel at ease knowing our child is in good hands and will get the best dental care possible. The staff were all so kind and we barely had time to sit down before we were called back - very prompt patient care.

Great experience! Dr Thames was very accommodating and friendly to our shy 3 year old. He took the time to make her feel comfortable and at ease. Laura was a great assistant and explained everything thoroughly.

My daughter had an enormous fear of going to the dentist. I tried several dentist before I found Pediatric Dentistry of Round Rock. After the first visit, she came out happy and telling me all about the show she watched and her new tooth brush. We have now been going for years and I have no problem getting her to appointments, even for fillings. The staff is very friendly and I love that the dentist remembers who she is when he sees her. I strongly recommend Pediatric Dentistry of Round Rock . The quality of service is outstanding.

LOVE this office and staff! My daughter is 10 with HIGH anxiety, especially at the dentist. For 10 years we have searched and tried many different dental offices where she felt comfortable instead of judged for being so nervous. We have finally found our winner! Dr. Thames was great and our amazing hygienist Hannah was TOP NOTCH! She was so positive and bubbly and patient. Best experience we have ever had at the dentist! Highly recommend Dr. Thames and his amazing staff!

We've taken our son here for a cleaning and a Frenectomy, and the entire office staff is incredible! Dr. Thames put us at ease for the procedure, and did a fantastic job. He has a wonderful bedside manner, and never makes you feel rushed. We're certainly sticking with this practice for our kiddo's dental needs! Additionally, I'm a pediatric nurse, and I recommend Dr. Thames to all of my patients who have dental concerns.

We are going to pediatric dentistry of Round Rock, since my son was 2 years old. Now he's going to be 8 and we are very satisfied with the service. When we started with the facility, dr. Kelsey used to treat my son, but when she retired I was literally worried how the new doctor would be. But I was wrong, Dr. Thames is wonderful and very good with kids. I'm happy with the service.

Loved the friendliness and warmth of the Dentist and staff. This was my 2 and 3 yr old's first visit and it couldn't have been better! Dr. Sage is so kind and accommodating. My kids were so happy to get balloons after the visit! Love this practice!
