In practice since 2003, Dr. Jay Crews is a board-certified pediatric dentist who specializes in providing comprehensive care for kids from infancy through their teen years, including special needs children.

After receiving his BS in biologyand three varsity lettersfrom Centre College in Danville, he attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and earned his DMD in 2001. He then went on to residency at the University of Kentucky, where he served as Chief Resident and received his pediatric dentistry certificate. Dr. Crews was board-certified by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) in 2007.

An active member of many professional organizations, including AAPD, the Kentucky Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and others, Dr. Crews also volunteers his professional services in the community.

Dr. Patrick Gilbert has been a practicing dentist since 2013 and a practicing board certified pediatric dentist since 2018. Dr. Gilberts pathway to becoming a pediatric dentist was a fun adventure! Originally from the small town of Cadiz, Kentucky in the western part of the state near LBL (Land Between the Lakes), he went to Murray State University, and received a BS in Biology. While at Murray StateDr. Gilbert was on the Murray State Bass Anglers fishing team! In 2009, Dr. Gilbert entered dental school at the University of Louisville and received his DMD in 2013.

From here Dr. Gilbert had to become a Hoosier (briefly)he followed his wife to Indianapolis, IN where she was training to become a Dermatologist. In Indiana, Dr. Gilbert practiced as a general dentist in two community health clinics in the city of Indianapolis for a few yearsit is here Dr. Gilbert discovered his passion for helping children! In 2017, he received his Masters in Oral Biology (MSD) from Indiana University and his certificate in pediatric dentistry from Riley Childrens Hospital.

Dr. Gilbert is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a Member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Indiana Society of Pediatric Dentistry and Kentucky Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Gilbert is married to Juliana Gilbert, who is also a practicing dermatologist. They have a 17 month old son named Henry and two lively Dachshunds named Lulu and Bear. In his free time, Dr. Gilbert is passionate about fishing, hiking, running, and spending time with his family outdoors.

Lacey joined the team in September 2014 with three years of previous experience in the dental field. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelors Degree in Systems Management. Her husband, Blake, is a farmer, so most of their spare time is spent outdoors. They have two boys, Jake (the yellow lab or aka the FIRST baby) and Reed. Together they all enjoy spending time on the river or by the pool with friends.

Hayley has been with Dr. Crews office since it opened in 2003. She graduated from Apollo High School and went on to graduate from Henderson Community College as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2003. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Jeff, their boxer baby, Fenmore, and their family and friends. She is also a big UK basketball fan, so she enjoys getting to Rupp to watch the Cats any chance she gets!

Amber joined the Pediatric Dentistry of Owensboro team in October 2016. She graduated from Owensboro High School in 2000 and has been working in the dental field for 16 years. Amber is a mother of two wonderful children, Maddy and Talon. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and going to concerts or football games. Go Buckeyes!

Ashley is one of the newest members of our team. She graduated from Apollo High School in 2006 and in 2011 went on to continue her education in Expanded Duties Dental Assisting and graduated from Henderson Community College. She has a beautiful four year old daughter. When she isnt working with other kiddos teeth, shes at home baking goodies with her own little girl. To say baking is a passion of hers would be an understatement. Cakes, cookies or pies, you name it and they do it! She is also an avid lover of Art History and Architecture on the side.

Jackie graduated from Dental Assisting school in 2016, and joined our team in October of 2019. One of her favorite things to do in her spare time is watching Disney movies with her four year old daughter, Briley. She also enjoys playing with her dog (Charlie) and kitty (Millie). Jackie loves any type of food, says she just cant get enough!

Called the office after hours. He came all the way from his house in bowling green to Owensboro and pulled two of my sons teeth. He fell and knocked them almost out. The best dentist I could ask for. Thank you again Dr. Gilbert

My son seen Dr. Crews last week for the first time. I was very impressed! He was so friendly and actually sat with us for a few minutes just talking to my son and asking him questions about himself. He was professional and took time with his patient. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. When I called to make the appointment they were able to get him quickly. And their office is beautiful and definitely made for children. My kids have always seen Dr. Braun and we liked her a lot but due to medical problems in her family she had to back away and I think she eventually retired. Since then, her office just wasn't the same. It would take months to get an appointment just for a cleaning. I'm not bashing anyone but they just didn't meet our needs anymore. But I'm so grateful we switched to Dr. Crews' office!!

I never had any kind of dental phobia or fears until I took my daughter to Pediatric Dentistry of Owensboro. Dr. Gilbert traumatized both of us. He wasn't my daughter's dentist but stopped in the space to check the laughing gas mix. The full HazMat suit he was wearing due to COVID frightened my already nervous child. I told him this and he started to make excuses to be near us more and more. Every time he came into the treatment space* my daughter would start panicking all over again. At one point I was holding my daughter, trying to calm her down, and he came up behind me and slid his hand between our bodies to touch my daughter. I adjusted my position and told him "No." He laughed, said, "No?" and continued to try to reach between our bodies to touch my daughter while she screamed. Eventually I stood guard in the doorway to keep him out. He then went across and pulled another little girl's teeth. Later, I overheard the mother an daughter saying, as blood poured out of the little girl's mouth, neither had any prior idea that she was going to have teeth pulled. I take my daughter to a different dentist now. Never a problem and she loves going to the dentist. *he repeatedly left other treatment spaces to deglove and dispose of saliva, blood, and mucus covered gloves in the treatment space where my daughter was necessarily unmasked _during a pandemic_.

Terrible experience very unethical. Dr. Crews let my son sit with a cavity in his mouth for years and never fixed it and said nothing about it because he had medicaid. I only found out after switching dentists.

Not good with special needs children! I gave them all my info online and on the phone. Told them my daughter was special needs with high anxiety. They pretended they were fine and everything would be ok. When we went in for the visit, everything was good at first. My daughter was calm and they were able to get x-rays and everything. We drove over 40 mins or so to be there. They did the exam and it went well. The dental hygienist was nice. But then the doctor comes in and reviews everything and tells me that my daughter will need surgery at the hospital. He says she will need surgery to have her tooth pulled and they don't have the equipment to do that. He told me it would be best for her to go to Louisville to have it done because they have more access to the hospitals there and he doesn't. So, basically he lied. They do have the capability to do that there, it was just abundantly clear to me that he didn't want to take the trouble with my daughter. At first he wasn't even going to send me to anyone and then at the last minute he gave me the number of some guy he went to med school with that works outside of Louisville. Needless to say I never called. I did my own research and found my own dentist. I left here in tears because he made us feel so insignificant. Like he couldn't be bothered. Actually, he did me a favor though. We now take the 2.5 hr drive all the way to Louisville where we found out that not only does my daughter not need surgery, but she didn't even need her tooth pulled. I will NEVER be back to this place and I will NEVER recommend anyone to this place. They are a joke.

Dr. Criuse and his staff are so amazing. They have taken care of my 3 children since they were at least 3 or 4.This place is beyond the best in Owensboro. The staff always makes sure we get what we need and always try to schedule as best as they can. I wouldn't trade none of you for anything. Also, the staff care about the kids and the appropriate ways to take care of their teeth! Thanks for all that you do for the patients! They greet you with a smile, and hellos, ask you if you have any questions and so on. Dr. Cruise thank you for your hard work and dedication to your patients, staff, and your love of sports!!

My daughter needed to get some fillings for her teeth. She has had to have two crowns at two separate visits prior to this at Newburgh pediatric dentistry. Those times were great experiences. She has never had a problem with the shots for numbing because the dentists have always acted silly and had her mind off of them. Also she has had laughing gas. At Owensboro dr. Gerber and Cruise seem really nice but they did not give my daughter much time with the laughing gas. Then when they went to numb they just went for it. They didn't act silly or talk just boom. Therefore she screamed and it was terrible. Then I realized all the kids were screaming. I have never been to a dentist like this. They then put the thing around her tooth and she said it hurt. They told her it was probably just uncomfortable. They then went to work on one tooth which was fine then the second and she started screaming. The dentist said I worked on one and it was fine there is no way the second one isn't. And acted like my daughter was the problem. They then took the "hat" off and decided to give her a minute and they were going to numb it again. At that point I was ready to take her and leave. However they told me I couldn't because she now has a hole in her tooth that they have to do something to. So they proceeded to numb her again and again they didn't act silly or do anything to calm her. She screamed it was awful. They let it sit for a minute Then came back. The dentist tried to force himself into my child's mouth without explaining to her what he was doing or anything. They ended up putting putty stuff In the tooth so we could leave. They told her she must have been having a bad day and she was not being "good". She didn't get a sticker or anything. She said she was confused why she didn't get anything for being brave. I told her the fact that she let them try to numb her a second time showed how brave she was. They then told us they would refund our money but we were not allowed to come back. This was so traumatizing. We will pay out of network and to back to pediatric dentistry of Newburgh.

We had a great experience at Pediatric Dentistry of Owensboro. Taylor, Ashley, and Dr. Crews were awesome!! The waiting area is a kids dream playhouse! So cool! We are first time parents to a one year old little girl with 8 teeth and we took her for her first visit on her birthday. They were so nice and informative and very good with her. She even got a t-shirt!! We also made our next appt before we left. Great service!
