Pediatric dentists are the pediatricians of teeth. As such, they have 2 to 3 years of specialized training after dental school. This training includes learning about the dental development of infants, children, and adolescents.
Dr. Kim and his staff will explain each procedure to your child on a level he or she can understand. This will help your child feel more comfortable, allowing him or her to relax during the visit. Well also stay away from words like shot, pain, or needles.
After receiving his undergraduate degree, Dr. Kim was accepted to New York Universitys prestigious College of Dentistry. He graduated with honors from dental school and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society for exemplary character and scholarship.
After completion of residency, Dr. Kim practiced for five years in upstate New York, providing comprehensive dental care for multiple underserved communities. He then moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he is now proud to call home.
I have worked as a registered dental hygienist for over 19 years. I have been blessed to have worked in this practice for 18 of those years! I really enjoy working with children and helping them have a pleasant dental experience.
I was born and raised in Ludington, MI. I graduated from Ferris State University. My husband and I have three children (ages 16, 14 and 12). We enjoy spending time as a family, visiting national parks, and being active in our church.
I have worked in dentistry for over 19 years. The entirety of that was spent in pediatric dentistry. I worked in this practice under the previous dentist for 18 and a half years and now for Dr. Kim since November 2020, when he came to Grand Rapids.
I have lived in Michigan my entire life and have been married to my husband Andrew for almost 16 years. We have three children (Cecelia 13, Ethan 12, and Trace 10). We love the outdoors and spend many summers hiking and camping.

My name is Mandi and I am a registered dental hygienist at the Pediatric Dentistry of Michigan. I graduated from GRCC in 2015. I previously worked in general dentistry but after subbing for PDM I found that I had a passion for pediatric dentistry.

In the last two years I have expanded my dental knowledge and taken on a role in the front office. I love patient interaction and being able to provide our patients with the best experience possible! Hola! My name is Adilene. Although Im fairly new to the dental field, I have enjoyed everything about it. Im very excited to be part of the reception team at the Pediatric Dentistry of Michigan and continue to expand my knowledge. I am bilingual in English and Spanish. In my free time, I enjoy venturing around my hometown of Grand Rapids with my husband. I also love to travel whenever possible, spend time with my dog (Rex), and watch anything Disney related!

Love Pediatric Dentistry of Michigan! They are always professional and great with my kiddo!Other dentists have not been able to make her feel comfortable enough to even enter an exam room let alone get xrays or a cleaning.

Office is set up extremely welcoming for kids; staff was VERY patient, friendly, and calm with my daughter, who was very scared and cried/threw an anxiety tantrum over half the time we were there. Was very pleased AND relieved, with how the situation was handled and we BOTH we treated. Excellent service!

Great with kids and include parents with all visits. As a parent you are not in the area when they do cleaning but when they do a procedure parents sit with them. Dr. Kim is great and my child actually likes to go to the dentist!

I took my 1.5 year old to see Dr. Kim for his first ever trip to the dentist. Dr. Kim was friendly, helpful, and kind to my kiddo to make sure he had a great first experience. My son loved the after visit toy to reward him for taking his "big boy" step and being brave for his first dental cleaning/exam. The office is always decorated with a fun theme and the staff is always with a smile! This is a great place to take your kiddos. :)

My daughter had to be put under for a procedure and I thought all the staff involved were absolutely fantastic. My daughter is 5 and the experience had no negative effects on her. The staff was all very supportive and patient with both me and my daughter. I'd highly recommend this office.

Dr Kim is outstanding. My children have severe anxiety, he was extremely comforting with them, he engaged them as best as he could with conversations about their interests as he performed an unpleasant dental procedure. He is was patient and understanding of a my children's dental fears. From the front desk staff to hygienists to of course Dr Kim this practice does an exceptional job. We drive an hour to get to this office and it's very worth the drive.
