Dr. Jensen and his staff are wonderful! They are caring, knowledgeable, and friendly. We have been with Pediatric Dentistry of Spartanburg for over a year now and I'm happy we found them. I wouldn't want my children to go anywhere else.

It is a great responsibility to be in a position to affect the health of people. I enjoy taking most or all frightened children and turning them into GREAT dental patients. It is very rewarding to be trusted and to be able to give a child confidence with a winning smile.

I love my work as a pediatric dentist. I have practiced at the highest level as a pediatric dentist for more than 35 years. My most gratifying thing has been that many of my former patients are now dentists and several are pediatric dentists, including my son, Dr. Jensen Turner, who I now get to practice with!

I attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where I received my Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biology and Chemistry. I continued on to the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences, receiving my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1978 and was inducted into the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. I immediately entered the graduate pediatric dental program at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences where I earned a Master of Science degree in Pediatric Dentistry.

At PDS and PDG we take continuing education courses annually. Dentistry constantly changes and it is necessary that we keep up with these changes. By learning the latest techniques, we can continually incorporate them into our practice. We feel that it is necessary to provide the BEST treatment possible to our patients and it is mandatory that we keep abreast of the most recent developments and the most superior products.

I am a native of Charleston, SC and currently reside in Spartanburg. My wife Janet and I have been married for 40 years and have three grown children Jacqueline, Hart, and Jensen. We now have been blessed with eight grandchildren who call me Poppie! With one more on the way! I enjoy sports and all outdoor recreational activities like farming, gardening, and fishing. I was even a wide receiver for the New York Jets when Joe Namath was the quarterback and was inducted into the Hall of Fame and made the All-Century team as wide receiver at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga!

I am lifetime member of the American Pediatric Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, and the Spartanburg County Dental Society, where I have served as treasurer and president. I have been an active church member for more than 35 years and presently serve as a deacon and sing in the choir. I have also taken numerous foreign mission trips, providing much needed dental care to people around the world.

My profession as a dentist allows me to help patients become confident and actually love visiting the dentist. In fact, that is what drives me: helping anxious patients become comfortable and even excited patients is immensely fulfilling. I like explaining dental procedures in words and ways that kids can understand and teaching each child that seeing the dentist isnt something to worry about. I believe in building trust with children and their parents, and strengthening those bonds over the years.

Watching my father, Dr. Turner, practice dentistry as I grew up inspired me to follow in his footsteps. Now, like him, I am able to reach children at an early age and help each develop confidence and health through their dental experiences. With children, I have the ability to really make a difference!

I am a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, as well as a member of the American Dental Association, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, South Carolina Dental Association, and Spartanburg Dental Society. I was honored to receive the Richard C. Pugh award for exemplary achievement on the May 2012 board-qualifying exam and the AAPD Predoctoral Student Award for outstanding promise in the field of pediatric dentistry.

My education didnt stop when I completed my specialty certificate. Ongoing changes in pediatric dentistry, from technology through materials and techniques, mean more and better options for patients. Its my responsibility to evaluate these developments and incorporate the best into our practice.

Outside of the office, most of my free time is spent with family. My wife Megan, whos a pharmacist, is amazing. Our two sons, Towns and Hamilton, are adorable and full of life: they keep us both very busy! We love our time outdoors, especially being on or near the water. I also enjoy fishing, hunting, and sports.

I am blessed to be able to serve a community that has given me so much. I enjoy visiting schools and teaching children about the importance of their teeth, encouraging them to develop good home dental hygiene practices. I have also volunteered for the Spartanburg Healthy Smiles Clinic and have served on the curriculum committee for Dorman High School.

We recognize that all of our young patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented dental team is committed to working with you and your child to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding dental experience every time you visit our practice.

As a hygienist, I help improve and maintain our patients oral health and provide education about keeping smiles healthy and bright! I enjoy working with babies and young children. Having been here for 20 years, it's been a joy to watch each one grow up, and many of our former patients now bring their children to our office. We've certainly become a generational practice.

I have worked for Pediatric Dentistry of Spartanburg since 2002, taking care of all aspects of our patients dental health. I try to calm and reassure nervous patients and let them know they can trust me. My goal is to see the kids smile and be happy about being at the dentist. I was a patient of Dr. Turners from age four! I loved coming to the dentist thenit was so much funand I still love it today!

I take care of the insurance aspect of our patients care. My goal is to help parents and patients utilize as much of their insurance as possible and understand their coverage. Along with our highly trained staff, I work to provide the highest level of patient care and customer service.

My husband Eric and I recently moved to the upstate to start a family. We are expecting a baby boy in May 2018! I enjoy traveling, cheering on the Wildcats, and being creative through arts and crafts.

I have worked at PDS since I graduated from SCC in 2013. Working with children and making their dental visits fun and exciting is what drives me. Oral health is very important, and I enjoy teaching children the importance of keeping their teeth happy and healthy.

With a warm smile, I welcome our patients, make them feel comfortable at the dentist, and take care of them like they were my own. I love helping children overcome their fears of dentistry and making their visit fun. Our office is like one big family where we all love each other and what we do.

I absolutely adore working with childrenthey bring a lot of joy to my heart! Whether Im taking radiographs, cleaning teeth, or talking with families, my main goal is to ease childrens fears about the dentist.

Byrnes High School, as well as two dogs (Mojo and Apollo) and two cats (Precious and Lil Bit). This is the worst dentist office ive ever been to. My daughter who was 5 at the time sobbed the whole time and he kept loudly telling her she needed to quit. By the time we left she was having a panic attack. My son was 3 and hated how rough they were with him. They both need extensive amounts of work and they spoke down on is the whole time. My kids love bushing their teeth and flossing with the stick flosses. Their daddys side of the family just all have bad teeth unlucky my kids have it too but the doctor and assistant acted like they were just unhygienic. If i even mention a dentist appointment they both start crying. Needless to say, im changing their dentist & i suggest everyone else try somewhere new too

I never write reviews but if this review saves someone the time, aggravation and headache of having the experience my family had, then it's worth the time. If I could give 5 stars for the nurses, I would. They are very sweet and gentle. If I could give 0 stars for Dr. H. J Turner, it would still be too much. He was completely impatient and indifferent with my 4 year old and made my wife feel like an inadequate parent for my son having a cavity. My wife will be writing a review about the first visit. This review is about our follow up visit today. Dr. H. J. Turner offered no consolation whatsoever and lost patience after (quite literally) 30 seconds. I kid you not, 30 seconds! My son started to cry (he's 4) and he was completely done. Turner said that he would have to be sedated and that would have to happen at another location at another time. After 30 seconds of beginning! He didn't speak to my son at all, no warm up to the process, no consolation, just came in and started shoving things in his mouth and then gets upset because he started to cry. Now, this wasn't a temper tantrum of a cry. He was very still, just had tears rolling. But clearly that was too much for a pediatric dentist to handle. I asked "So, you try for 30 seconds and that's just it, you're done!?" His response was that he's done this long enough to know how this is going to go so, yeah. We are currently seeking another dentist to finish the work. Even if it costs twice as much, it'll be worth it. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere first. Wish we would've.
