As a father of 5 children, Dr. Leavitt has first-hand experience working with children and knows the fears and anxieties that many children have towards a dental visit. His personal goal is to help all children have a long term healthy relationship with a dentist throughout their lives. To accomplish this goal, it is important to have children feel as comfortable as possible in the dental setting.
Dr. Leavitt began his formal education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he obtained his undergraduate and dental degrees. He received his certificate of specialized training in pediatric dentistry from The University of Toledo Medical Center. He also completed a masters degree in Oral Biology from the University of Toledo.

My son fell and fractured his front tooth. Dr Leavitt and his team saw him immediately and stayed after hours to finish his appointment. Dr Leavitt and Angel were so patient and kind with my 4 year old when he was scared. I'm very thankful for them!

We absolutely love and trust Dr Leavitt, my daughter had a skateboard accident with some damage to her teeth and he was right there to fix her up and make sure everything was good!! Thank you again Dr Leavitt!

We love Dr. Leavitt and the staff. My daughter was very fearful of the dentist so we decided to try Pediatric Dentistry. He worked miracles getting her to trust him. While I didn't think that it was possible for kids to like going to the dentist, both of mine now do. I highly recommend them.

I absolutely loved how the staff talked to my two year old son and to me. Dr. Leavitt took the time to show my son every tool he was going to use and explained what he was going to do. I thought our first dentist appointment was going to be a disaster, but I left feeling so cared for, heard, and supported! I'm so thankful that we stumbled upon such an amazing Dentist and his sweet staff!

This place is great. My daughter has been a patient for almost a year now and Dr. Leavitt goes above and beyond. He made a special trip into the office when my daughter had an infection from her spacer. She is very fearful of having any work done because of a previous bad experience but Dr. Leavitt let her take her time to get comfortable so that he could help her. I would definitely recommend this place.

Dr. Leavitt is amazing! I went through so many dentists trying to find one who would meet me halfway with my personal preferences for my children. Finally, I found Dr. Leavitt and he is the best! He is so helpful and talks with me about anything I need to discuss. My boys (8 &5) love him and don't mind coming in for dental work whatsoever. We are moving to Northern Ohio soon, and I love him so much that I plan on driving the 2.5 hours to Pickerington just to keep him as our pediatric dentist!

Dr Leavitt is the best pediatric dentist, hands down! My son was hit in the mouth with a baseball at practice and it knocked out his front adult tooth. I called the emergency line and it went straight to Dr Leavitt's cell phone. He answered immediately and told me to get the tooth in milk and that he would meet me at his practice right away- even though it was going on 9:00 at night and he has 5 kids of his own! He was so gentle and kind to my son who was really scared, and made the process so much easier. He avoided trigger words like "blood" and "shot" and knows what and how to say things to make the kids calm and comfortable. My son wasn't nervous during the procedure of putting his tooth back in and splinting his mouth- and this is the same kid that had to be held down at the doctors for his shots!!! He recommended an Endodontist he trusts and even texted me the next day to ask how my son was doing. He really cares about his patients and their families, and has the best chair side manner. He has also been wonderful with my 3 year old and 5 year old during their regular visits, and they actually enjoy going to the dentist. I would highly recommend Dr Leavitt, he is the most caring gentle dentist around for children!!!

My 2 year old daughter had a noticeable cavity in her molar. I actually took her to 3 different dentists before finding Dr. Leavitt and was uncomfortable with every treatment plan presented to me (expensive surgeries, a root canal, and crowns were recommended). Dr. Leavitt was an answered prayer. He was so patient and so very kind to me and especially to my toddler. He made us both feel so at ease and I am beyond thankful. We are going with a much more conservative, slow approach to my young daughter's dental care. I could not recommend Dr. Leavitt more and my daughter cannot stop talking about "Dr. Josh!"
