Because of Dr Nickerson my daughter loves the dentist and keeps asking when she can go back! He was so patient with her. We have had two check ups so far and can't wait to return! This is an anxious experience for most and especially children and Dr Nickerson and staff did a phenomenal job making my daughter comfortable and explaining the process each step of the way!

TERRIBLE PLACE!!!! My sister brought my 3 year old nephew here today and HE LEFT WITH BRUISES from the straps that held him down!!! She wasn't allowed back there with her 3 year old to help calm his nerves! DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE!!! DOCTOR HAD NO PATIENCE AND WAS RUDE TO MY NEPHEW!!

I'm rating 1 star for Dr. Nickerson today was the second time he's been rude to my child it just does not make any sense to me, if children annoy you then maybe you should not be a pediatric Dentist. Today my daughter said he did not wait till the numbing effect went into place with the gel and that he just stuck the needle in place and when she mentioned her cheek still had feeling he pretty much did not care and he did not make any small talk with her what so ever and when she would wine in pain he would tell her to stop it a million times in a rudely manner. My daughters face and jaw were so sore, she wanted to cry because of how rude he was and I was not allowed in the back room with her. However she did say the assistants were really nice to her but the doctor was not and again this was his second time.

I honestly don't know how this place is still open. My son is traumatized from this business and fears going to the dentist now. He will not be going back. They yanked my sons tooth without the numbing to fully kick in. They tried telling me or my husband not to go back and by the time he came out his face was red and was crying. The dental assistant had the audacity to say he was combative during the appointment. Save yourself time and DO NOT GO HERE!

Received very poor care. Dentist wouldn't talk to me about my child's care or treatment plan. Constant issues with receptionists and filing dental insurance wrong. I took my child to another dentist who was able to point out multiple issues with the care my child was receiving. They did more harm than good. Their infection control is also extremely poor. The staff is rude and ignorant. They walk around in gowns because of COVID, but they touch everything with their same dirty gloves...

Today this doctor's ego fired my daughter as a patient... because I saught a second opinion on her dental work. (I think when your child needs to be put under for a dental procedure it should be fairly standard) Yes I'm completely serious. My husband and I both agree this was a blessing in disguise because... this place is God-awful you are crammed in a teeny tiny room where you get to watch other people's kids get their dental work done at the same time your child is being serviced. I can't imagine this is sanitary. My living Room is larger than this office. The doctor is it complete arrogant jerk and the staff is terrible. We found a fantastic dentist in Chesterton and I suggest the rest of you do the exact same. This place is unsanitary, don't go here. I wouldn't even give it one star but 0 wasn't an option.

Please spare your child from this place. I started taking my kids there when my daughter was 2. We had gone here for 5 years. A year ago one of the nurses was extremely rude to my 4 year old. Our final visit was November 2018. Dr Schechner was poking at my 6 year olds tooth. She waited until he was done and then quietly walked over to me with tears in her eyes and said it hurt. He came over looking absolutely disgusted with her and very rudely said to her and I in front of everyone, "you are being very whiny and dramatic, dont you think!" Then he stood there glaring at her until I got up and a nurse got in front of me to direct us to the front desk. You could tell the nurse felt compassion for my daughter and couldn't believe he was so rude. He said she needed a filling. Well when I got to the front desk, I pulled all my kids records and said I would not be back. I took her to a different pediatric dentist. The did an xray and looked at the tooth in question. She needed a root canal! Then when the time came for the root canal they determined the tooth was actually abscessed and needed to be pulled! So Dr Schechner treated my daughter like dirt for her saying it hurt when he poked the tooth that was actually far worse than he said it was. I'm sure it did hurt! After that, this new dentist wanted to do their own full exam. Turns out she has 4 other cavities that need to be taken care of. Dr Schechner said nothing about any other problems in her mouth. When we first went to a new dentist, they assumed it had been a while since she had a cleaning. It had been 3 weeks! I see why now. The new pediatric dentist did a much better and thorough job with the cleaning. I have been to the new place 4 times so far and cannot be happier. They treat my kids great, they are patient, they do a better job, they take time to talk to me and make sure my questions are answered and I am happy. Seriously, if you love your kids, do NOT go here!

I took my 4 year old daughter here for the 2nd time, we had a good experience her first visit but since then she somehow has developed a fear of the dentist. Anyway she was a little apprehensive at first then the staff had NO patience with her making things worse. The dentist basically just told her to open her mouth, not approaching my child as he should approach a frightened child. As a healthcare worker myself and working with children through my career his approach was TERRIBLE and only made my child's fears worse. Thanks dude, it may be time to retire, I don't understand how you get to charge my insurance company $50 for that, you did nothing but confirm her fear of the dentist.

They have done a great job working with my two year old. We have been in for check ups and a teeth cleaning so far and are very pleased with the entire experience.

They gave my son fluoride without my consent and now they're trying to charge me for it. The nurse has zero patience for a fidgety 5 year-old and the doctor is not very pleasant.

The office is very responsive and both dentists and hygienists are very caring and knowledgeable. Both my sons are patients, I couldn't be more pleased!

My kids have always had a great experience with Dr. Wchechner and his staff. I've been taking them to him for the past 11 years. Dr. Schechner and his staff are always very friendly and helpful.

Staff is AWESOME, however the Dentist is very rude and does NOT have patience for children with fear and anxiety of the dentist. I would NOT recommend this place!

Pediatric dentistry in valporaiso indiana is beyond rude, disrespectful, and does not care for the safety of children. When asked to go back for my child had problems the last time I get told by the blonde head assistant "you're not allowed back" I'm their mother! And it is NO WHERE in their policy that says parent/guardians aren't allowed. Only the doctor says so. HA WOW. LAWSUIT COMING!!!!
