Dr. Thomas G. Wilson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is proud to be the only board certified pediatric dentist and orthodontist in Iowa.
Dr. Wilson was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated from Roosevelt High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He went on to earn his certification for pediatric dentistry from the University of Florida in Gainesville, and his certification in orthodontics from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. His professional licensure includes Iowa and Florida.
Upon graduating, Dr. Wilson joined his father, Dr. John B. Wilson, in his long established dental practice, providing pediatric patients with dental care from their first visit through adulthood, including their orthodontic needs. He worked along with his father, who was a well-known pediatric dentist in the Des Moines area, and then took over as sole proprietor.
Dr. Denise N. Evans was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Saydel High School. Dr. Evans completed her undergraduate education at Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville in 1996; earning her bachelors degree in biology. In 2000, she completed her dental education and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in Iowa City. Dr. Evans enjoyed and excelled at treating children during dental school and this led her to pursue further education in this area of dentistry. In 2002, she received her specialty certification in pediatric dentistry from Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Evans has been practicing dentistry since 2000.
Dr. Evans is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Des Moines District Dental Society and the Iowa Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Along with Dr. Wilson, Dr. Evans participated in the Iowa Mission of Mercy, delivering dental care to the under-served population of Iowa.
She enjoys swimming, outdoor activities and spending time with her family. Dr. Evans lives in Ankeny with her husband, Dr. Andrew Chan, an endodontist practicing in Des Moines and daughter Claire, born in February 2009.

We strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. All of our staff members stay current with the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.

My daughter had a baby tooth that was stubbornly hanging on even as the permanent tooth grew in. --Dr Wilson gave us great advice and we ended up having the baby tooth extracted. He works so quickly and ensures that the child/patient is comfortable and knows what to expect. We had a great experience!

This place is awesome. Everyone is friendly and they take awesome care of the kids. My son has extreme anxiety when it comes to dentist but he seems much more at ease once we switched here.

Doctors Wilson and Evans are simply wonderful, equally kind and attentive with all three of my kids and their different needs. The hygienists all show such amazing patience and kindness as well, making even my anxious kiddo feel at ease. And reception is always so kind and welcoming. 5 stars :)

We have been coming to Dr. Wilson for over 10 years. He is the best dentist we have seen, very kind, experienced and calm. His expertise as a member of a cleft team is especially valuable to us. Dr. Wilson takes the time to listen to our concerns, and to carefully consider how he wants to proceed. Today Hunter also helped us. She is wonderful, very gentle, kind and caring. We love coming here!

My oldest child was referred to Dr wilson/evans when he was 4 for a tough cavity to be fixed, he now 23. Him & his siblings have all gone to dr wilson/evans and I could not imagine taking them to a different dentist or orthodontist, ever. From the hygienist to the billing staff to dr wilson & dr evans, they have all always made my children feel like they were going to see a family member. There was never a fight or an argue about going to the dentist. And they always worked with me & my ins on everything. Thank you to the great staff, my kids have never experienced a nightmare going to the dentist like I did as a child.

My 10 year old had an accident and Dr. Evans' office was supposed to be closed. I called the emergency line, left a voice message and within 10 min. Dr. Evans called me back and saw my daughter as soon as I could get there. She knew my daughter. She assuaged my worries and educated me using easy language as a clueless mom. Thank you Dr. Evans!

We love this dentistry and orthodontic office!! It's a one stop shop! The staff is SO friendly, they love to have fun with the kids, and make every visit a joy! Nothing but SMILES in this office for our kids! Drs. Wilson and Evans are so great! It's fairly easy to get appointments when we'd prefer them for our schedules. If a kiddo has an issue in-between regular scheduled visits, they usually get us in the same day! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Patients for 12 years and going strong. Highly recommend and refer often!
