Your child should have a comprehensive dental examination regularly, which includes a thorough examination of his or her teeth and gums. We use the findings from our examination to formulate a complete diagnosis and comprehensive treatment plan for your child.
Dr. Algenio is happy to call the South Suburbs of Chicago his home. He and his three daughters have been living and working in the area since 2001. Dr. Algenio graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in 1998 from Northwestern University. He attended the University of Iowa where he spent the next three years finishing two residencies and completing his Master's Degree in both Pediatric Dentistry and Public Health Dentistry.
Dr. Algenio is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Certification by the ABPD provides assurance to the public that a pediatric dentist has successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, application, and performance requisite to the delivery of quality patient care.
In addition to private practice, he has also served time as an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at the University Of Illinois Dental School. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Past President of the Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists, and Chicago Dental Society in which he served as an officer at the local level, Fellow of the International College of Dentists, and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Payment Options: Financial options are discussed during the initial visit. Our doctor and his staff are committed to providing excellent dental care and guiding parents in choosing the best payment option for their individual needs. We accept cash, check, credit cards and Care Credit (a dental credit card).
Dental Insurance: Your insurance is a contract with your employer and a dental insurance company. Benefits received are based on the terms of the contract negotiated between your employer and the dental insurance company, and not your dental office. The goal of most dental insurance policies is to provide only basic care with coverage for some specific dental services. Many services may not be covered under your policy. The benefits that you receive from the dental insurance company has nothing to do with your needs or achieving a high-quality complete result.
Our office will do everything possible to help you understand and make the most of your dental insurance benefits. As a courtesy, our office will complete and submit your insurance forms to achieve the maximum reimbursement to which you are entitled. Please remember that you are ultimately responsible for all expenses incurred. We urge you to read the policy so that you are fully aware of coverage and any limitations of the benefits provided.

My children have been seeing Dr. Algenio for over 7 years. One of my children has special needs and Dr. Algenio and his staff have always been incredibly patient with him and now he loves going to see them every 6 months!

Dr. Algenio and his staff are amazing! He has been seeing my kids for 9 years and my kids actually look forward to going to the dentist! He goes above and beyond for his patients and his staff is top notch! We moved and I still drive over an hour to see him because I wouldn't trust my kids dental health anywhere else!

Dr Algenio is awesome! My kids were traumatized from a previous dentist. Their first visit they were all smiles. My daughter had two fillings today and she walked out all smiles no tears! I've been impressed since day one and have three children that see him. He's very personable and takes individual interest in the children! He's the best!

I've been going to this office for 13 years with my two kids and I love everything about this office. Doctor Algenio is the nicest and the kindest dentist I've ever met. His office staff is very professional. I drive far and pass many pediatric dentist on my way but I will take that extra drive because they are the best.

We absolutely love this dentist.! We come an hour and 15 minutes just to see him for my daughter. He's so gentle and hypes the kids up and doesn't make the dentist scary. He talks to the kids before during and after the appointment and makes them comfortable with him before he does any work.! if the child gets upset at any time he takes a break. He is genuine when and the kids do get upset and does everything he can to make them feel better such as talking about the treasure box that he has little souvenirs in. It distracts the kids and they forget about the pain fast! Highly recommend this dentist and his team! Won't be taking my other two children anywhere else but him!

I was one of Dr. Algenio's first patients and almost 22 years later, my son and daughter are his patients. He is literally the best to do it and I am grateful for him making myself and my family feel welcomed and comfortable over the years. Not to mention, he kept my smile great.

Dr. Algenio and the entire New Lenox staff are wonderful! My kids love coming to the dentist! Our appointments always run on time, even with multiple children! When there is dental treatment needed to be done, Dr. Algenio is extremely efficient! I also love the consistency of having the same Dr. treat my children!

Dr. Generand Algenio has been treating my kids since 2013. I was first introduced to Pediatric Dental Specialty Associates, Ltd. as a referral from my own general dentist. At the time of the referral, being a new mom with two young kids, I had no idea pediatric dentists existed. I thought my own dentist would be just as good to treat my kids. Even though I had a great general dentist, he stressed the importance of a pediatric dentist for many reasons such as specific pediatric treatment techniques, their specific training handling children's emotions while seeing the dentist, as well as having the most knowledge about up-to-date technology advancements in pediatric dentistry. He specifically recommended Dr. Algenio in New Lenox. My son was having an early onset dental issue even though I was diligently caring for his teeth, which obviously concerned me as a mom. Truthfully I thought, "Am I not doing something right?", "Am I not doing enough?" I'll never forget the first day in Dr. Algenio's office. He instantly assessed my sons situation and clarified the reasons behind the issue and assured me it was nothing I did wrong. Before I knew it, he was being treated for the issue quickly and accurately, and the weight of worry I was carrying was lifted off my shoulders. Dr. A has a special gift that allows him to care for and interact with children on such a unique and personal level. He knows how to take away dental visit anxiety (in parents too haha) as well as knowing how to perform procedures with speed and precision even when faced with children who express tears and emotions. Since 2013, my kids still continue to see Dr. Algenio regularly as well as Dental Hygienist, Brenda. I am very happy to say I feel so lucky to know as a mom, that my kids are in the best of hands at Pediatric Dental Specialty Associates in New Lenox!

My son has cognitive and sensory issues. It takes alot for him to allow anyone to touch him. He needed cavities filled. It took a long time for me to find a patient, understanding, and kind dentist. The dentist at the New Lennox office was all of that. My son finally got his teeth taken care of and didn't leave crying. The entire staff is amazing. Highly recommend Pediatric Dental in New Lennox!

Dr. Rebecca Testa is a great pediatric dentist. She takes her time and explains everything before and after. I couldn't ask for a better dentist.
