We are proud that our doctors are trained in all aspects of child development. Both Dr. Stephanie and Dr. Katie are Board Certified Pediatric Dentists, Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and Laser Certified through the American Board of Laser Surgery. Dr. Stephanie has been practicing pediatric dentistry since 2012 and has been voted a Top Dentist and a Top Dentist for Kids in Grand Rapids since 2017.
Dr. Katie is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also certified through the American Board of Laser Surgery. Dr. Katie has been practicing pediatric dentistry since 2014 and has been voted a Top Dentist and a Top Dentist forKids since she started practicing in Grand Rapids in 2019.
Dr. Taryn is a board-certified pediatric dentist, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She was awarded the Richard C. Pugh Award for scoring in the top three percent nationwide on the pediatric dentistry board examination. Dr. Taryn has been voted a Top Dentist and a Top Dentist for Kids in Grand Rapids since relocating to the area.

I am blown away! The excitement, friendliness, and passion of the staff is incredible. My kids (4 year old twins) absolutely loved their time at the office - from beginning to end. I couldn't have asked for a smoother, more enjoyable experience for a peds dentist appointment.

We took our almost 1 year old for her first dental visit and we were impressed! All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. They were engaged with our daughter at her level during her exam which made everything run smoothly!

By far one of the best pediatric dentistry locations in the area my baby had a blast her first time very warm and welcoming unfortunately the service at the location is not the welcoming service you'll receive on the phone very condescending and rushed

Our girls had an awesome experience! Those ladies (and chad!) at PDSWM are total rockstars!! We loved every second of our experience, they definitely will be our new dental home until they are out of Peds! We live in Kalamazoo and it's definitely worth every second of the drive! Everyone was so friendly and made us feel so comfortable. They give such mommy vibes, which helps a lot with the little ones and I love it!!

My son had to have 12 teeth pulled at once. And i had to pay out of pocket for the anthesialogist! And before my son's surgery he even told he doesn't understand why our son isn in the hospital for such an invasive surgery!? Not something a mother or father wants to hear before their child is put under. Then I could hear him screaming in the back room I walk in to my son freaking out slapping his numb bleeding face! The nurse goes maybe you should take him home he will do better in a place he knows i said well thats makes no sense when. We have a 2 hour drive home and he didn't sleep the whole way he screamed and kicked and nothing for pain either!

The staff are warm and welcoming and so easy to talk to. Dr. Stephanie and Kym did such a great job with our daughter and talking us through everything. Will definitely be back and highly recommend to others. So thankful we chose Pediatric Dental Specialists of West Michigan to help care for our daughter's lip and tongue ties. Couldn't have asked for a better experience from start to finish - they were right to the point, made sure we were comfortable and quick and efficient during the procedure. Thank you!

Edited 2022 Dental hygienist did not make my child feel comfortable, threatened him that "mom would have to leave if he didn't follow the rules." Told us they were going to do xrays instead of talking with me about it. My 4 year old was nervous and has a but of a speech delay, I'm not leaving him with people he feels uncomfortable with and can't fully communicate to!

It was difficult to find a pediatric dentistry who (1) took our insurance, (2) didn't have an age limit that capped at 6 for new patients, and (3) had positive experience with special needs children. When we found out my daughter had a broken tooth, i reached out to several dentist offices, but only heard back from PDS of West MI and I'm happy I did! While it is about a 3 hour drive from where we live, it's worth the trip. My daughter had a great experience during her initial assessment; she even let Jordan (i think that was her name) clean her teeth! My daughter has a difficult time with anything remotely invasive(understandably), but she was confident enough to trust the ladies at PDS. She ended up needing more than we initially anticipated so for her second visit we scheduled a procedure where she would need to be put under. We were given plenty information on recovery and post-care treatment for her extractions, fillings, and frenectomy. Recovery time was very quick. The staff was very knowledgeable, empathetic, and patient throughout the whole process which went a long way with two very nervous parents. We were given recommendations by the staff, but were reassured the decision was ultimately in our hands. For our post-op appointment, i was afraid i would have to reschedule due to car trouble, but we wound up doing a virtual visit instead. My daughter felt confident and empowered while she was there, and even asks to go back! Thank you PDS so much for making my little lady feel so special.

I brought my 2 month old son in to the office this morning for a consult on a lip tie and posterior tongue tie. The staff was so welcoming right from our first moments in the office - from a fun "1st visit" board to loving on my son through the whole process. Dr. Kate ended up also finding two tight cheek ties as well and we decided to have them revised. I was very pleased with the interaction with the Dr and that they were able to get all the ties revised right then and there. Everyone made the whole experience seamless and pleasant, especially for easing my mama heart as my baby was taken back to have the procedure. It was a simple gesture, but I was also very thankful that the ladies helped carry the infant car seat while I carried my son through the office. Overall it was such a great experience! Thank you!

We absolutely love the folks here! They offer great care that is tailored for our kids (ages 2-7). They are kind, caring and do great work. I would highly recommend them to anyone with kids.

Everyone was more then patient and helpful with our daughter who underwent anesthesia for a dental procedure today. She has several special needs and all of them were taken into consideration before and after her procedure. We appreciate the kindness and care all the staff provided her today. We will continue to make the 1.5 hour drive from home for her regular dental appointments as well due to the outstanding service we receive. Thank you for helping make her dental experience as positive as you can!

Everyone is so caring and knowledgeable. We moved here from another pediatric dental office where the bedside manner wasn't as kind. My kids actually look forward to coming here because they get a balloon and get treated very special. The dental work they do and the options they have available is much better than our previous dentist as well. Much more care and attention to detail.

We love pediatric dental specialist of west Michigan, all of the dentists and hygienists are amazing. My son has seen hygienist Logan everytime he has been in for a cleaning. Logan has been so friendly, patient, caring, and made my son feel comfortable. My son had such a good time with Logan cleaning his teeth, and spending time with her, that he asked to go back! My youngest was treated for oral ties. Dr. Katie & Megan went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable about the procedure, and was thorough about explaining the procedure, and aftercare. After my sons procedure, breastfeeding was so much easier, and his smile was so much wider! We couldn't be happier with our experience at the office, with the doctors, hygienists, and all of the staff! If you are looking for a pediatric dentist, I would highly recommend the office!

We have been to many dental offices over the years and through a lot of difficult experiences. I can tell you with complete certainty that this office is truly amazing. The staff is incredible- kind, helpful, knowledgeable, gentle, fun. As a parent, I feel at ease and that they are doing what is best for my kids. They treat them as if they are their own- they honestly do! I cannot recommend Pediatric Dental Specialists of West Michigan enough. If you have kids- go here!

I love all the staff at this office! We love Michelle and Kristin and Dr. Katie. They always make my boys feel comfortable with getting their teeth cleaned, X-rays, and procedures. We travel from Wayland because they are so great here!
