Stephen Robirds, DDS, of Pediatric Dental Professionals in Austin, Texas, has practiced orthodontics since 1982. His practice provides orthodontic treatments, therapies, and services to pediatric and adult patients. He tailors these services to meet the unique requirements of each patient.
Dr. Robirds has a bachelors degree in biochemistry from the University of Texas, Austin Texas and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1980. Dr. Robirds continued his dental education at Emory University School of Dentistry in Atlanta, where he received a certificate in orthodontics in 1982. Dr. Robirds is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Robirds is active in leadership positions in a number of professional societies including the American Association of Orthodontics, the Southwestern Society of Orthodontics, the Texas Association of Orthodontists, the Capital Area Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association House of Delegates. He is also involved in several orthodontics study clubs.
In addition to his extensive professional activities, Dr. Robirds has a long history of community service that extends back to his college days. His service includes board membership for the Foundation for the Austin Sunshine Camps, an organization dedicated to assisting at-risk youth. He has also served on the board of the Baseball Booster Club at McCallum High School in Austin.
Natively from Austin, Dr. Tiffany Barrett graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Baylor University. She then graduated from dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio before going on to complete her Pediatric Residency Program from University of Southern California. While in California, Dr. Barrett did additional training at the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles where the majority of children she saw were special needs or medically compromised. Dr. Barrett is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Barrett is thrilled to be back in the great state of Texas! She looks forward to making an impact on the Austin community through properly educating patients and their families on the importance of proper oral health. Her goal is to make the dental experience fun, so every child feels encouraged and dedicated to the health of their smiles. With Dr. Barrett and our team, you can trust you and your kids will be made to feel welcomed, comfortable, and well taken care of-- just like family. Outside of the office, Dr. Barrett spends most of her time with her husband and baby girl. Together they enjoy cooking, going to see the latest movies, and traveling.
Risa is our Practice Manager and joined the Pediatric Dental Professionals team in 2010. She started as a Front Desk Scheduling Coordinator and has enjoyed working in several other areas of the practice, including Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator and Orthodontic Team Manager. Risa enjoys watching each patients confidence grow as a result of their beautiful new smile! She is a 2003 graduate of Texas State University where she earned her bachelors in Business Management. After graduating, she knew she would be planting her roots in the beautiful city of Austin! She is married and has 2 children Madelyn and Max. When she is not working, Risa enjoys traveling, exercising, and cheering on the Houston Texans and Houston Astros.
Katie grew up in Austin. She has been in the dental field since 1986 and has worked for Pediatric Dental Professionals since 2002. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter.
Claira joined the team in 2020 as the Orthodontic Financial Coordinator. She brought with her a degree in Accounting and Finances and is currently continuing her education in the dental field. Like many of the patients she sees, she has gone through Invisalign and is loving her new smile She really enjoys seeing patients of all ages love theirs too! Claira believes that through dentistry and orthodontics, lives are changed and a lifetime of smiles are formed. Outside the office, she enjoys living the RV life with her boyfriend Easton and their two pets, Winnie and Wrigley. When she is not working on college homework, she is bargain shopping, watching baseball, going to the movies, or talking to her mom.
Denise is the Orthodontic Insurance Coordinator. She is originally from San Diego, California but has called Texas home for the past 25 years. She loves spending her time at the coast in Port O Connor with her husband Dave, her family and her friends while they fish and enjoy their time on the water.
Dora is the Pediatric Insurance Coordinator and has worked in dentistry since 1999. She was born and raised in Austin and attended Jackie Nell Executive Business School (now called Austin Business College). She now lives in Round Rock and spends her free time reading, going to the movies, hanging with friends and spending time with family, especially her two sisters.
Jeanie grew up in Lampasas, Texas and has been working in Orthodontics since 2006. She loves being able to interact with both the patients and their parents when they come to the office. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband James, and their two kids Mia and Noah, as well as their two dogs.
Renee began her career in Orthodontics in 1995 and has worked in all aspects of the profession. She was born and raised in Texas and is an avid Texas Longhorn fan. You can find Renee boating on Lake Travis, traveling with her husband and enjoying Austins live music scene. Renee loves orthodontics because: We create beautiful smiles that give our patients confidence that last a lifetime!
Shara is the Medicaid and Hospital Coordinator who has worked for Pediatric Dental Professionals since 2006. She is originally from Lockhart and currently lives in Florence. She enjoys spending time with her two grandkids and lives in the country with her cows, donkeys, chickens, dogs and cats.
Wendi has been a part of the team since 1997 and in dentistry for 28 years. She loves seeing all the sweet little faces that come in! She and her husband, Chris, were born and raised in Austin and have three boys Brady, Carson, and DJ. In her free time, she enjoys watching football, traveling, and gardening.
Kay has been working as a pediatric dental hygienist with Pediatric Dental Professionals since 1992. She graduated from Bee County College in 1988. Kay is married and has one son, Conrad, who is graduating from A&M and will be applying to dental school! In her free time, Kay enjoys antiquing, decorating, watching football and spending time with family and friends!
Laura graduated from Coastal Bend College Dental Hygiene School with honors in 2001. She began working for Pediatric Dental Professionals in 2004 as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She loves to educate patients about all aspects of oral hygiene and strongly believes that prevention is the key! Although Laura is proud of her inventions (Platypus Orthodontic Flosser and Platypus toothbrush), nothing compares to the pride she has of being a mother to her three boys: Zayden and twins- Bryker and Brantly. In her spare time you can find Laura outdoors with her boys or cheering them on at their hockey games along with her husband and high school sweetheart, Kurt. Laura is into fitness, nutrition, and has even completed in some body building competitions!
Alisha has worked in the dental field for over 20 years! She began working for Dr. Watts in 2007 as a Pediatric Dental Assistant and transitioned a few years later into an Orthodontic Assistant. She loves putting her patients at ease and making them feel comfortable and excited about getting braces for the first time! In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband watching Amazon Prime & Netflix and taking care of her English Bulldog, Inka! She also enjoys gardening, organizing, and going to dinner with friends and family.
Allison grew up on the Gulf Coast and moved to Austin to join Pediatric Dental Professionals as a Dental Assistant in 2008. She loves working with kids and her goal is to make sure each child has the best experience possible while visiting the dentist! Allison loves being outdoors, is a die-hard Longhorn fan, loves Tacos and taking care of her fur babies!
Mary has been a dental assistant at Pediatric Dental Professionals since 2012 and absolutely loves it! She has a passion for children and loves being in a work environment where she can serve them on a daily basis. Mary was born and raised in Austin, Texas and cant imagine living anywhere else. She enjoys being on the lake, wakeboarding, reading, cooking, traveling, and hiking. Mary is also a longhorn fan who loves spending time with her husband and rescue dog Singer.
Marylou joined Pediatric Dental Professionals in 2011 as a Registered Dental Assistant and feels very blessed to be a part of this practice. She enjoys working with kids and loves listening to their spontaneous stories! She loves taking weekend mini trips with her husband and dogs to hike and try out new food trucks. In her spare time, she likes working out with new people and groups, enjoys woodworking, listening to music, cooking and most importantly spending time with family.
Stephanie earned her Bachelors in Dental Hygiene and has worked in dentistry since 2013. She loves teaching our young, scared patients that they have nothing to fear. The dentist can be a fun place to visit! She also loves laughing and telling jokes with our patients and parents. Stephanie grew up in Round Rock and is glad to still be in the area with her husband and baby boy. In her free time, Stephanie loves reading, playing with her cats, and taking naps!
Suzanne has been in the Orthodontic field for 32 years and has worked in all areas of the profession. She enjoys seeing how a new smile can change someones life! She is originally from San Antonio, but has lived in Austin most of her life. She has two children, Troy and Haley, who have blessed her with two grandsons, Rhett and JW. She loves spending most of her free time spoiling and loving on them! When away from the office, you can find Suzanne out near the lake (or anybody of water), listening to music, enjoying time with family and friends, or relaxing at home watching movies.
Monica is an Orthodontic Assistant who joined our team in 2021. She has worked in the dental field since 2015 and is fluent in English and Spanish. Monica loves connecting with patients and helping them feel comfortable as she helps create confident smiles!' When shes away from the office, Monica enjoys spending quality time with her husband, baby boy and their dog, Blue.
Kayleigh joined the team in 2021 as an Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator. She started her dental career in 2011 and has both clinical and front office experience in orthodontics and pediatric dentistry. Kayleigh has a passion for helping families find comfort while at the dentist and enjoys demonstrating how amazing teeth can be! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her fianc Rene and son Adrian by going fishing, cheering them on at the golf course and she also enjoys collecting vinyl records.
