Regular eye exams are an essential part of keeping both babies, kids and teens on track for educational, social, and developmental success. Children with vision issues often have trouble in school, with sports, interacting with other children and day-to-day functioning. A vision check-up is a great way to keep your child on track for success.

Farsightedness, also known as Hyperopia, is another common condition where you can see objects that are far away better than objects up close. When a child has farsightedness the light rays in their eyes will focus behind the retinas surface instead of directly on it, making close-up objects blurry...more

Orthodontic Braces are a great solution to fixing the alignment of the jaw, adjusting the spacing of the teeth, and increasing your kids or teens confidence and self-esteem. The benefits of braces treatments have many positive side-effects for overall dental health as well, including:

Finding the right braces is the first step of the journey for creating a perfect smile. There are several types of braces commonly used today such as traditional metal braces, ceramic or porcelain braces, and removable aligners. Well help you find the best type for your child and teen based on your treatment plan, cost, and desired appearance.

  • Traditional Metal Braces are the most common type of braces, especially for children. Metal braces are highly effective and the most affordable type of orthodontic braces. Metal braces allow the orthodontist to easily and accurately complete monthly visits crafting a perfect smile. Plus, kids and teens have an awesome selection of elastic band colors to mix and match to achieve a look they love!
  • Ceramic or porcelain braces function just like metal braces, however the brackets are less noticeable and the wires are colored to blend in with your child or teens teeth. Clear braces are more expensive than metal braces and can discolor if not regularly cleaned. If you are looking for a less noticeable appearance these are a great option.
  • Removable aligners have become a popular choice in recent years. They are transparent trays that rest on top of the teeth that can be removed during meal times and other activities. Removable aligners are not able to correct significant bite problems and are not usually recommended for children due to the added cost and level of personal responsibility required during treatment. If you are looking for a less noticeable option to correct alignment issues, this may be the right treatment option for you.
  • No insurance, No problem: For adults and children without insurance coverage, we offer a number of affordable payment plans, our orthodontic coordinators can explain these options to determine a plan that works best for you.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children receive their first orthodontic screening no later than age seven. By this age, it will be clear if a child has any jaw alignment problems, overcrowding, overbite or underbite, cross-bite, or additional orthodontic problems impacting a childs mouth. The earlier the orthodontic evaluation, the quicker we can determine if braces are required and what treatment plan is best.

Since Medicaid covers procedures that are medically necessary, orthodontic treatment is could be covered for children. If your child has an underbite, overbite, crossbite or severe crowding it might be time to consider braces for kids with Medicaid.

When a dentist that accepts Medicaid conducts an orthodontic evaluation on your child, they will determine a recommended treatment plan. As part of this, they assess whether Medicaid is likely to cover the orthodontic treatment or not. Medicaid knows that braces can be an important treatment to ensure lifelong oral health for kids. As a dentist that accepts Medicaid, we will manage the full Medicaid approval process which includes submitting the appropriate documents and patient records. Then, Medicaid examiners will look at what we submitted and determine if your childs recommended orthodontic treatment will be covered. Medicaid will notify you and our office if the treatment is approved or declined.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommend children receive their first orthodontic screening by the time they turn 7. At this age, major jaw and tooth alignment problems will be visible. As with any health intervention, the earlier a problem is identified, the easier it is to create a treatment plan and schedule. Some issues that are treated by braces include:

If your child needs orthodontic treatment, it will be an improvement that will last a lifetime. Braces fix more than crooked teeth to create a winning smile. In addition to straightening out your childs teeth, braces also correct bite and tooth alignment. This is important to:

There are other options for braces that are less noticeable than the metal brackets. Some of our older patients like that ceramic or porcelain braces blend in with their teeth. There are also clear braces, but these are more expensive than metal braces and can discolor if not cleaned regularly. Then, there are removable aligners such as Invisalign. These are transparent trays that can be removed during mealtimes. Removable aligners are popular with adults and older kids, but they arent appropriate to treat significant bite problems. We dont recommend removable aligners for most children because they require more responsibility to care for properly.

Sometimes, the orthodontist will recommend two phases of braces depending on the developmental stage of a childs teeth. The first phase might begin around age 7 to 10 years of age to correct issues with your childs primary teeth that could impact the arrival of permanent teeth. During this time, the jaw bones and palette are more pliable.

Around the age of 12, a second phase might be recommended. These braces straighten out the permanent teeth. The time your child will be in braces is dependent on their treatment plan and how well they follow the orthodontists instructions. It can range from 9 months to 30 months.

When your child has braces, it can be more difficult to brush and floss teeth properly, but its very important. Encourage your child with braces to rinse their mouths with water frequently. This helps wash away food particles and restore the pH levels in the mouth to neutral. Acidic foods can wear away tooth enamel.

When your child wears braces, we suggest they brush their teeth after every meal. Your child should pay special attention to their gum line and then focus on brushing above, below and on each bracket. Flossing daily is also critical especially when your child has braces.

Braces journey going good, but the office is so slow. My child had an appointment for 8:00am and finally walked out at 9:40. Any other orthodontist takes 10mins to change bands, but here everyone is to busy talking. They never answer the phone and the whole reason for an early appointment is to get in and be able to make it to work. I wish we would have explored our options more.

I have brought my son here for 5 years. We have had a good experience most times. I just wanted to give a huge thank you to Lola and Haley! You all did so, so wonderful with my anxious son today! You went above and beyond, and I cannot express enough how much we appreciated it. You all made me a little teary eyed with your understanding and compassion.

Incompetent staff that don't care about your children or their comfort. My 5 year old needed spacers each fell out within a short period of time. First time they made molds incorrectly and instead of re making the molds they decided to wing it and size them without the mold. They did not ever use gas on him until I demanded but by that point my son was not cooperative and anxious. They should have used gas each time from the get go. They did not even have suction set up when they began cementing they spacer. Suctioned one real quick time after setting it up mid procedure. So the cement is more than likely not drying properly. They did not send him with gauze to keep it dry either they simply were tired of dealing with him and did not care. The assistant did not have a name tag or introduce herself. The assistant needed help making sure she had all the tools and was unaware of what tools the dr was asking for. I'm not entirely sure most of their assistants actually went to school. Dr Li had zero compassion and seemed offended when I questioned about the gas and molds. This should be a kid friendly environment they did not offer him sunglasses, use tvs above his head to make him relax or do anything a pediatric office should do. These are kids who are anxious from past experiences. They also had us and staff hold my child down which turns out is illegal. On top of this I tried getting him into a different office and nobody will accept him since another dr has already touched him. No chance I'll be returning.

Would not take my dying paper doll here. My youngest daughter had oral surgery today. And like a working mother I sent my mom to take her so she could have her surgery because they only do oral surgeries on Fridays. I get a phone call from my mom in distress saying that my daughter won't wake up out of anesthesia and this is after she has left and the staff has assured her that my daughter will wake up AOK because they gave her a lighter dose then they did the last time. I rushed to my mothers house to find my daughter like a Comatoast doll. Her eyes rolling in the back of her head her slurring her words like she was a drunk on 11th St. When I call their office to request the sedation that they gave my daughter they give me a hour long fight to the point I have to physically drive and show drivers license and her Social Security card in order to get the actual medication's they gave her. And only then they drag their feet while I have my daughter in the car and I'm trying to rush her to the emergency room. I will never ever reference anybody to go there I am removing all of my children from their care because clearly they have no care. Worst dentist group in Tulsa.

They got my daughter in the same day and had a plan of action for her care. The surgery staff was incredible as well as the office staff especially Sharron. Dr Li deserves a hero medal from me. I'm forever grateful.

They were wonderful! I went online and scheduled an appointment friday evening and was able to get my 15 month old seen the following Monday! They are very prompt with text messages letting you know to fill out your info and confirm your appointment. After seeing another dentist twice and being told I couldn't do anything for my sons cavities until he was two I was anxious to take him to another dentist. Dr. Li and her team were very informative about proper care and what we could do that day to take action against the cavities. She informed me of SDF with the pros and cons. We decided that we would do the SDF treatment on his teeth that needed it and she was able to do it THAT DAY. It made me very anxious to have to hold down my little one and seeing him scared having to do this, but her team did everything they could to make sure he was SAFE and SECURE so the procedure was quick and painless. One of her assistants even sang him lullaby's while getting it done. I will definitely be coming back, I really appreciate their touch for compassionate and informative care! -sincerely a very anxious mama <3

I just wanted to say the lady named Sharon is very educated and professional. She made me feel at ease with my child's procedure. This is a great environment and wonderful place to take your children.

I've been taking my children here for years, faces changed services changed. If it wasn't for the ORIGINALS and Ms Sharon the scheduler of surgeries I would've left years ago. Horrible experience with the Dr Li over 10 years ago and I was told I'd never have to see her again but new people new system and then boom here she is again but I will say she did a better job with this last procedure. As I said it was a very bad job but the originals and Sharon convinced me to trust that they wouldn't allow things to turn out like my last experience with Dr Li and they didn't. They kept me well informed even though more things were done than what I agree at first. But still good job y'all and thanks for keeping my nerves down.

Did not have a good experience AT ALL! My husband took off work to go to this appointment bc it's our daughters first dentist appt ever. But we got there and she informed me that they cancelled my appointment bc I didn't confirm it over the phone however, I confirmed it online through a link they sent me. The lady working tried to get us to wait another hour and we could only get that appointment IF the people didn't show up for it. We drove from Owasso to this appointment. I was very upset and disappointed! It was inconvenient for us and we will never be back there. Also they were so packed people were sitting on each others laps bc there wasn't enough seating!
