We do things a bit differently, and that's the way we like it! We know that providing the highest quality care doesnt mean it has to be boring or scary. We believe a visit to the dentist can be fun for kids and relaxing for parents, and we strive to make sure that every patient and parent leave our office smiling.
We know that for many children, a dentist office can sound like a scary place. At Pediatric Dental Care, we keep it friendly and fun for all kidsand their parents. Our office is well-equipped with TVsincluding Apple TVs (to select the latest movies), computers, digital photography, books, toys, and even a Playstation gaming console.
We maintain a healthy atmosphere by sterilizing our instruments using autoclave, a sterilization system that uses heat, pressure, and steam. Our autoclave is tested weekly for proper sterilization cycles. Barrier controls recommended by OSHA are implemented for use with every patient. Theseinclude: gloves, masks, eyewear, and plastic barriers that are applied to all surfaces that may be touched and cannot be sterilized. Disposable items are used when necessary and discarded after a single use. Disinfectants are used on countertops, chairs, and other hard surfaces. Handpieces (Power toothbrushes and drills) are sterilized after each use. A hazardous waste company removes all biohazard waste from our office. In addition, we use distilled water for all of our equipments including handpieces and water syringes.
After earning her bachelors degree from Kansas State University, Dr. Fariba Paryavi pursued her dental education at Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia and received her Doctoral of Dental Surgery in 1994. Dr. Paryavi then pursued her postdoctoral training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. In 1997, she completed her training in Pediatric Dentistry and received her Masters degree in Oral Biological Sciences. Dr. Paryavi has been in private practice since 1994 in Maryland and D.C. with teaching experience during her residency and after graduation at the University of Maryland dental school. In 2001, Dr. Paryavi founded Pediatric Dental Care, LLC as her first private practice serving the North Potomac, Potomac, Rockville, Gaithersburg, and Germantown areas. Due to the need for Pediatric Dentist in the Northern Montgomery county, Dr. Paryavi founded Pediatric Dental Care of Frederick, LLC in 2008 to serve Frederick, Urbana, Clarksburg, and even parts of West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Dr. Paryavis practices are growing based on existing patient referrals with additions of an associate pediatric dentist, orthodontist, and soon a general dentist to serve the young adults that were once very young when they started with Dr. Paryavi.
Dr. Paryavi is a Diplomate of American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Maryland State Dental Association, and Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Paryavi holds hospital privileges at nearby hospitals, where she offers Full Mouth Dental Rehabilitation in the operating room under general anesthesia for the very young and special needs patients. Dr. Paryavi resides in Maryland with her husband, and they have three grown children and a son-in-law. She enjoys traveling, computers/technology, reading, swimming, biking, cooking and baking. Dr. Paryavi believes in very high quality treatment, the kind that she would want for her children. She also believes patient comfort is of utmost importance during dental procedures. She does her best to make dental experiences as fun and comfortable as they can be for the very young and the teenagers. She has been in dentistry for over 24 years and still enjoys it very much. She hopes to serve the community with her experience and care for many more years to come.

My kids have been going here for years, and the care is excellent! Staff is friendly and gentle with kids. Dr. Paryavi is very personable, knowledgeable and talks to both kids and parents about best daily care as well as long-term care for teeth.

Very nice and great with my kids! I had to take my daughter to them for an extraction. A great staff and awesome Dr. Paryavi made a possible stressful visit into a "no big deal". I am transferring my kids to her service for all their dental needs. I'm driving from Baltimore to Frederick because they are very knowledgeable in pediatric dentistry and they are so nice.

Top notch clean. They have dividers in place, staff is in masks, googles, gown, gloves and shield. Staff is so child friendly, and the office is child decorated, my kids absolutely LOVE going to the dentist. Everyone is committed to give children and parents a good experience. We've going there for a couple of years now, and I must confess that one of my favorite part of the experience is the "no wait." They really see your right away and that is huge to me.

My daughter has been coming here since she was two years old and is now sixteen and still LOVES it. She feels comfortable and at ease even when she's had to have teeth pulled and other procedures. Dr. Pariyavi and the entire staff are great. We just went a few weeks ago, and they were completely on top of PPE procedures, took our temps, all wore masks, and everything was carefully done, but as alwaysin the most amazing way!

Shady business that knowingly overcharges Tricare/United Concordia customers. Avoid this dentist, or at least know what you're getting yourself into! I explained to the front desk clerk my situation and how Tricare very clearly has guidelines set forth that state they cannot charge me the Provider charges of 125 and 215 for two different services. She was incredibly rude and constantly shut me down. I contacted Tricare again, and was informed that Pediatric Dental Care was (either knowingly or "unwittingly") not abiding by their contract and illegally overcharging Tricare customers like myself for these services. This dentist KNOWS they are overcharging me, but outright refuse to correct their actions. I will not be coming back here, and I will happily suggest the same to any of my friends, family and acquaintances. EDIT: We have been trying for weeks to get this issue resolved and despite numerous calls back and forth between us and the insurance company (and the insurance company to the dentist) they still refuse to correct this issue. Their front desk clerk is incredibly rude and a nightmare of a person to try to talk to! EDIT 2: This is to serve as a reply to the business owner's response. Having worked in the healthcare business for the last 6 years, I am aware of the billing and financial aspect of healthcare and have first hand experience. Tricare and United Concordia have set guidelines that dental providers are expected to abide by, and the conclusion of this entire ordeal (see: my refund) proves that your company was not following proper procedure set forth by my insurance and was wrongfully overcharging me for services rendered. If you want to talk about mutual respect, I suggest you start with your front desk clerk. From the start she was dismissive, cut me off while I spoke and talked down to me. And as a correction, you did not call my insurance - I called my insurance and requested that they speak to your clerk on my behalf. The representative at UC received the same rude and disrespectful treatment as I did! I will end with this: we will not be using your services again, and to anyone (especially Tricare/UC beneficiaries) reading this, if you received care from this dentist I greatly suggest that you do yourself a favor and audit the bill they send you. You might save yourself a few hundred dollars.
