Mary Beth has been a hygienist since 2005. She graduated from Middle Georgia Technical College and has been part of our team since August 2011. She has been married to her husband, Neal, since 2003. Mary Beth absolutely loves everything Disney and enjoys helping others when planning a trip. They have three Yorkshire terriers named after Disney characters: Mushu, Belle, and Minnie. At the age of 22 she became a big sister again to William. William refers to her as his 'Friday Mom' because she picks him up every weekend and he spends the night with her.

Melissa started working with us in June of 2014 and graduated from her Dental Assisting program at Middle Georgia Dental Assisting in July of 2014. She loves to spend her free time with friends and family shopping, cooking, or hanging out by the pool.

Teresa graduated from Middle Georgia Technical College in December 2008. She started her dental assisting career here in January 2009 and has loved it ever since. She got married in April 2013 to Marco, at a beautiful outdoor venue. They celebrated the birth of their daughter, Westyn, in June 2016. Teresa does an awesome job at talking children through dental procedures and answering all their questions. And they do have a lot! She brings a friendly and young perspective that we all love to our team. Teresa is unique in that she does everything in 'fast mode'. She stays three steps ahead. 'Fastbot' is the name Dr. Gilbert has given this speedy little helper.

Kerry has been a hygienist since 2005. She graduated from Middle Georgia Technical College. She started in the practice as Dr. Gilbert 's first hygienist. She works wonders with the little ones and you can pick her laugh out of a crowded room. She is an asset to have on our pediatric team. Kerry is a mom to three beautiful children. A unique fact about Kerry is that she can hear and remember just about anything, so much so, Dr. Gilbert has named her 'Nosy Rosey'.

In September of 2004, the doors to Pediatric and Adolescent Dentistry opened. The practice, built from the ground up, was established on the principle: Do well by others and you will do well. Dr. Gilbert and team work diligently to make each childs dental visit a unique and pleasant one. As a board-certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Gilbert attends numerous continuing education courses each year and invests significant time and resources to team training and education. Dr. Gilbert enjoys interacting with her patients and families in middle Georgia. The practice sponsors and participates in various community activities including athletic teams sponsorships, the Ronald McDonald House sponsorship, school fundraising events, health awareness programs and Robins Air Force Base events. Dr. Gilbert notes the most rewarding part of career is watching her little ones grow up and transition into fearless dental patients.

A native Georgian, Dr. Gilbert is a summa cum laude graduate of Spelman College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She received a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Columbia University and a Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of North Carolina. Dr. Gilbert began her dental career in research and academics, holding faculty positions at the University of North Carolina and the University of Michigan. To be closer to family, Dr. Gilbert moved back to Georgia, to work as an associate dentist position in metropolitan Atlanta.

Dr. Gilbert is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of the American Dental Association and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. In her free time, Dr. Gilbert enjoys shopping for her nieces and nephews, adding to her book collection, researching her familys genealogy and spa-ing.

All of her post-secondary alma maters have the same two school colors - Spelman Blue/Columbia Blue/Carolina Blue and White. She hopes to live to be 107, similar to her sheroes Bessie Delany, a Columbia Dental School alumnus, and Sadie Delany.

Depending on the age of your child, he or she will either be given a knee-to-knee examination (where your babys head will rest on our doctors knee while their body is on your lap) or a regular exam in the doctors chair.

Your initial exam willl include oral hygiene instructions. In most cases, we will also clean their teeth on this visit, and provide an evaluation that will outline any existing dental problems and proposed treatment.
