My love of pediatric dentistry started as a child. It seemed like every time I went to the dentist, I needed dental work even though my siblings were consistently in the clear. I spent a lot of time as a child in the dental chair and had a great experience; it really helped form the way I want kids to feel in a dental chair. I know too well what its like to be that kid on the other side of the chair!

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I then graduated with my DMD from Case Western College of Dentistry. After Dental school, when I told my mother that I was going to continue on with more school to do exclusively pediatric dentistry she said, cant you just get a job already! My mom was a kindergarten teacher and seeing how much she loved what she did really had the lasting affect that I too should follow what I love doing. She understood! So I continued on to a pediatric residency at Nationwide Childrens hospital while also obtaining a Master of Science degree from The Ohio State University. I completed my pediatric dentistry training as Chief Resident of Dental Services, which served as the perfect training ground for my day-to-day work with kids.

I am a board-certified pediatric dentist and a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. I am a member of the American Dental Association, The Ohio Dental Association, and The Columbus Dental Association.

My favorite part of being a pediatric dentist is seeing the pride and joy in a parents face when their child does something they didnt think they could do; as well as that visit when a child turns the corner and does a great job for the first time.

When I am not doing pediatric dentistry I enjoy spending time with my wife, Stephanie and my two children, Thomas and Evelyn. I can often be found at home re-watching the same movies with my family that has been playing for 8 hours a day at work and saying the lines right before they happen. To this day, it is believed that I have the world record for the number of times I have seen the first Frozen movie.

I grew up in a rowdy home, the second of six kids, in a suburb between Dayton and Cincinnati. I attribute my ability to block out noise and focus on the task at hand, two very important skills for a pediatric dentist, to being raised in that bustling home! Although a Buckeye through and through, after high school graduation I headed south to attend college at the University of Kentucky. While in Lexington, I earned my undergraduate degree, a masters degree and lifelong status as a member of Big Blue Nation!

Before long, I returned to my Buckeye roots to attend dental school at The Ohio State University. It was there, while in my third year of dental school, I had a conversation that changed the course of my career. Following a rotation in the pediatric dental clinic, one of the faculty held me after to ask me my story. This particular faculty happened to be one of the most respected and beloved pediatric dentists in the field, and he had my absolute attention. He suggested I think about specializing in pediatrics, which was something I had never really considered, but made perfect sense to me as he and I spoke that day. I felt a wave of excitement and possibility I had not experienced in my dental education to that point. I vividly remember him saying with all the conviction you can imagine, its the greatest profession in the world! From where I stand today, I assure you I agree! I was very fortunate to stay in Columbus to complete my two years of pediatric specialty training at Nationwide Childrens Hospital as well as an additional masters degree from The Ohio State University.

Pediatric dentistry is unique. The hardest part isnt always the dentistry itself. The bigger challenge is helping kiddos allow you to deliver the care they need in a safe, gentle, positive and hopefully even fun way! The kids will never let you down. They keep every day new and fresh with their perspective and innocence. I love earning their trust, and celebrating their accomplishments. I love sharing their pride when they overcome fears or apprehensions. I love to laugh with them and offer encouragement along the way. It really is the greatest profession ever!

Outside of work, I am an avid homebody, but I do like to venture out with my family for walks and occasionally a run! I wholeheartedly enjoy pizza, cheering for the Buckeyes, dark chocolate, and attending family functions for my 18 nieces and nephews.

My father, aunt, grandfather and uncle were all dentists. Some say dentistry is what we do! I grew up at the family practice and was able to witness the impact of a healthy smile. I knew early on that dentistry was meant for me. Through my dental training at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Childrens, I learned how valuable a healthy smile is to a child and their self-confidence. One of my favorite things about what I do is helping kids feel comfortable in their own unique smiles!

I truly care about the patients and families I work with and making sure your childs experience is the best it can be. The truth is dentistry is tough for a lot of people not just kids. I still remember as a kid being uncomfortable in the dental chair while getting an impression and the dentist was dad! We all have these stories that make us feel vulnerable at the dentist and I pride myself on making your child feel understood and comfortable with me.

When I am not practicing pediatric dentistry, you can find me with my wife Jamie and our baby boy Brady. We love to spend time outdoors and finding new places throughout Columbus to explore. However, most of the time our weekend adventure is back to Target for more diapers!

I feel very lucky to be able to work with children from a young age and see them grow up over the years. A smile is something we wear every day and I look forward to helping your child have confidence in their own!

There is literally no one better than Dr. Kevin and Dr. Emmy. I have twins with autism and going to the dentist could be complicated and stressful but it's not. They are kind, encouraging, and persistent. They never force anything and scare them and have really built a lot of trust with the boys. If I ever move out of state, I would 100% travel back to Ohio for my kids' dental appointments. No joke. They. Are. The. Best.

A phenomenal experience. Dr. Emmy is truly a gifted pediatric dentist, who is quick and efficient; extremely kind and amazing with children. The atmosphere created is calm and soothing which helps with any anxiety. We had three visits that required fillings and drilling, but my child thought she was "painting" her teeth. Highly recommend this office and doctor.

"I love Dr. Kevin" - my shy 3 year old AFTER getting her teeth cleaned for the first time. If you want your kids to like the dentist, I recommend this place. Also, last summer my 7 year old had an accident involving his (new adult) front teeth and another child's head ... on vacation, in another state. Out of desperation and just not knowing what to do I called the office and they connected me with dr Kevin on a Saturday afternoon. I texted him pictures of the teeth and he talked me through what to do - the relief! Seriously, the best.

My children LOVE going to the dentist (even BEG for it) and I give all credit to these fantastic dentists and staff. Everything they do is centered around making the experience an excellent one for the kids, from demeanor to simplicity of the appointment to the prize box at the end. I can't say enough about this place - except GO!

My child was an absolute nightmare at his appointment today and I can't say enough good things about how patient and accommodating everyone was for him despite his nonstop crying. I'm so sorry for his behavior and appreciate how lovely you all were. My oldest was fine and said the hygienist and doctor were very nice as well.

Thank you so much for the wonderful care you provide. My 3 kiddos were in for cleanings yesterday and had a wonderful experience. The hygienists were kind and gentle while also teaching them ways to continue to keep their teeth healthy. My 2 year old sat in the chair for a full cleaning. She was able to watch her brothers go first and was very excited. The hygienist took time to explain each step and even offered to brush her little stuffed animals teeth. She loves the suction straw and getting a drink of water from the squirt gun. She had so much fun that she wants to go every day. It's great to find a dentist that your kids live going too! . Thank you so much!

Their billing is a fraud and scam. They made me pay for services before my son could get treatment then sent another random bill for $75. I didn't pay it because it wasn't legitimate - they sent it to a collection agency. Scam, fraud, crooks.

Our daughter saw Dr Kevin for her visit and had a wonderful experience. She was very excited to hear her teeth were shiny and looked great! She also enjoyed picking out a toy and exploring the office. Very family friendly office and warm welcoming office staff. Highly recommend this office!

We started going to this office for a tooth injury. While I was a nervous reck about it, I'm so thankful that I choose this office. They were quick to get us in and reassuring about the issue and what to look for in the future. We absolutely love this office! I wish I could go there...they are that amazing! I used to take our 5 year old son to my dentist and he screamed and cried and hated every minute he walked through the door. He absolutely loves going to Emmy. The environment is set up for kids from the time you walk in to the time you step out. Lobby has toys, tv, and arcade game. The dental hygienists are super patient and friendly and are wonderful interacting with kids. I highly recommend this dental office!

Absolutely love this office, my son has seen both doctors and they're absolutely amazing! My 5 year old had unfortunately had to have a tooth pulled 2 fillings and a cap and every time after his appointment says he felt nothing!!

I've been bringing my kids here since 2010, it was my daughter's first experience with a dentist. I have always had dental anxiety and was so worried she'd hate it. She came out from her appointment smiling from ear to ear and because of that I now bring all 3 of my children and refer every person I know to them. Both doctors are amazing, the hygienist are so sweet and funny and efficient. We always leave smiling and feeling great! If only they saw adults they'd never be able to get rid of us ;) thanks for the many years of outstanding service!!
