Permanent teeth will begin to grow around age 6, and except for wisdom teeth, are all present between ages 12 and 14. The next teeth to grow in are the 12-year molars and finally the wisdom teeth. Wisdom teeth typically begin breaking through from age 17 and on. The total number of permanent teeth is 32, though few people have room for all 32 teeth. This is why wisdom teeth are usually removed.

Your front teeth are called incisors. The sharp fang-like teeth are canines. The next side teeth are referred to as pre-molars or bicuspids, and the back teeth are molars. Your permanent teeth are the ones you keep for life, so it is vital that they are brushed and flossed regularly and that periodic check-ups by a dentist are followed.

My boys have been with them since they were babies, this place is amazing! The front desk are 10 stars always! They are always with a smile even answering calls... you can hear their smile over the phone. I love this place.

Our family recently switched insurance companies. When we went in for our son's dentist appointment, we presented our new insurance card and were not told that Pediatric & Adolescent Dentistry of the Main Line was now out of network. We then received a $220 invoice in the mail for a regular check-up visit / cleaning. I called on 3/24 to dispute the bill and asked the office to honor the rate they discount for insurance companies. I was told the best they could do was a 5% credit and the manager wasn't available to take my call. We won't be going back and do not recommend this office.

Always a great experience for us (especially when the hygienist is Vanessa or Nancy!)! Every time I call or walk in, the staff at the desk are very friendly and accommodating, Vanessa and Nancy always interact so easily with my kids. The dentists are fantastic.

We had a great visit with Dr. Chermol. She has been my daughters dentist since she was little and had moved offices and we were so glad to reconnect with her. She is great with kids, skilled, and experienced (>26 years). My daughter was so fearful of going to the dentist after her last experience with a dentist from Dr. Chermol's previous practice, but now she cannot wait to go back in June! The office staff were wonderful, we were late for our appointment as we live in Center City, got stuck in traffic and went to the wrong address. The office staff and Dr. Chermol were warm, friendly, accommodating and really decreased my stress level as soon as we arrived. We have already recommended Dr. Chermol to many other new families.

I brought all four of my kids at the same time, and although their appointments were staggered, we were out in one hour. They encourage great mouth care by even entering my son's name in a drawing because he took such good care of his teeth. The hygenists always check before taking x-rays, etc. They love coming to Dr. Harshaw's office, and as a mom, I can't ask for more. We've been coming here for eight years.

unbelievable experience! We first met Dr. Harshaw and his practice as a second opinion. Dr. Harshaw was thorough, kind and wonderful with our nervous little four year old. It was a fantastic experience and we feel so lucky to have found a new Dentist and practice for our two little ones!

We had an absolutely phenomenal first visit to the dentist. My 2.5 year old was wowed immediately with the fun kids waiting room! We were seen in less than 5 minutes of arriving and the staff and dentist went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and have fun. My daughter felt very comfortable there and did great through her first cleaning and exam, she loved the prizes at the end. We felt very special and I'm so glad we came here! HIGHLY recommend!!!!

We started coming here after my oldest son had extensive work done elsewhere and from the first appointment Dr.Harshaw talked to me on my level as a parent and not just a Doctor. My kids are very comfortable here, and I just brought my 2 1/2 year old in during the Covid 19 restrictions. The process was so smooth to keep everyone safe. I would recommend to everyone!! Very pleased!!

I told my kids they had a dentist appointment today and they cheered!!! We've been seeing Dr Harshaw for about a decade now. Even though we moved about 30 minutes away several years ago, we couldn't bear to switch dentists. Everyone on staff is just fabulous!

Today was our first visit to this practice and I was very impressed with the staff. They are all extremely happy, friendly and professional. My child that normally fears the dentist had a smile.
