At the age of 12, Dr. Michael Skolnick got his braces on and was so inspired that he decided one day he would become an Orthodontist himself. After graduating at the top of his dental class, Dr Michael entered the Orthodontic Residency program at NYU and his aspirations became a reality. Dr. Michael is very excited working at Pearly Whites in Berkeley Heights, NJ, a community that is very special to him because he was raised there. Dr. Michael sits on the board of numerous dental insurances advising the State of New Jersey about the policies concerning dentistry and orthodontics. This commitment to his field and his patients has earned him the award of Best Orthodontist in New Jersey for 2013 and 2014 by his peers (NJ Family Magazine).
While Dr. Michael offers traditional braces, Invisalign, and clear braces, his approach to orthodontics is unique because he does not just focus on the teeth. Crooked teeth are a result of how we use our lips and tongue, in combination with other oral habits. It is imperative that we think about correcting these bad habits, not just fixing what they have done to a persons teeth.
Working at a Multi-Specialty office like Pearly Whites offers an Orthodontist the unique chance to be part of a team of dental professionals. Having all the dental care providers under one roof, communicating with each other, is not only convenient for the patients but it affords them the highest level of care. Dr. Brooke Skolnick knows that education is a lifelong pursuit. That is why she attends many dental continuing education lectures every year, and is a part-time faculty member at Beth Israel Dental Residency. Always practicing at the highest level of care in the field of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Brooke is Board Certified with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Brooke sits on the board of numerous dental insurance companies as an advisor to the State of New Jersey for Pediatric Dental policies in underserved communities. This commitment to Pediatric Dentistry has led her to be recognized by her peers as a top Pediatric Dentist in New Jersey in 2014.
Dr. Brooke is very passionate about getting involved and giving back to the community. This drive has taken Dr. Brooke as far as Ecuador on a dental mission trip to help underserved children. It is also why every year the staff and doctors at Pearly Whites participate in Give Kids a Smile day, a day of free dentistry for children that do not have the means to afford dental care. Pearly Whites also hosts numerous drives in our office, support local charities, as well hosts a fun fall festival.
It was very important to Dr. Brooke that Pearly Whites offer a unique dental experience that changes the way people feel about going to the dentist. Besides creating a modern fun environment, Dr. Brooke uses state-of-the-art dental technology. Safety is our highest priority which is why Pearly Whites only uses low dosage x-rays. It is this modern compassionate approach to dentistry combined with a warm, friendly staff that sets Pearly Whites apart. We look forward to seeing you in our office.
Dr. Eleni Mavrakis is a graduate of Montefiore Medical Centers Pediatric Dentistry Program. She received her DMD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where she was a recipient of multiple awards and scholarships. Her clinical experiences were expanded by treating children with developmental disabilities at the Rose F. Kennedy Center in New York City.
During her years as a dental student and pediatric dental resident, she donated much of her spare time to volunteer activities ranging from helping high school students learn about dentistry to screening Olympians at the Special Olympics.
As an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association, she keeps current with the latest research and development in the field of dentistry. She is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and honored with the Richard C. Pugh Award for scoring in the top three percent in the nation on her Pediatric Dental Boards. Her passion for helping and giving back has led her to many volunteer programs including a mission trip to Sri Lanka to perform screenings and teach children dental care.

They so nice and professional and really do beautifully work. They make it feel like you not even at a dentist they give. Complementary variety teas and coffee. they even have a TV on the screen above why you get dental work to help ease make you feel comfortable and make it feel so scary coming and my son goes here and he loves it. If I could give them more than five stars I would they are just that good, and they are so nice and polite and caring and just all the things and more that she would look for when looking for a dentist I would recommend them to any and everybody. they have a section for the children which is beautifully Xbox for the kids to play while they wait to get a little toys and stickers when they're done and upstairs they have the adult and it's really nice. That's where they have a complementary, coffee and cocoa and they're just so amazing I can't express my gratitude and how much I love love love love love them it's like going to a Hollywood dentist office where the celebrities go but you don't have to be a celebrity to go here and they make it feel so high. Scale but also affordable, so if you have a Rison they take that I don't know what other kind insurance anybody else has but I change my insurance just so I could come here

I recently needed an emergency surgery for 2 cracked teeth and Dr James was able to get me in. The staff at the front desk was great and he took his time and performed a great job. He was very attentive, professional and walked me through the whole process as he was working on me. He will be my dentist moving forward and I will be returning to Pearly Whites again. Thanks!!!!

I needed a root canal and I was fortunate that they booked me with an Endodontist Dr. Chris Bauer for the next day. Dr. Bauer had a gentle way of making you feel relaxed and there was no pain during the procedure.He was extremely thorough with the xrays during and after the procedure. I would highly recommend Dr. Bauer to anyone needing an Endodontist and Pearly Whites friendly administrative staff for coordinating the paperwork with my insurance company.

unethical practice. I had a appointment scheduled for a family member and when she got there, the staff said there was no allotment for her... we showed them the appointment card yet, they were still in denial. The manager, Juliana, kept saying she had left us multiple voice mails and texts but her face turned red because of how wrong and shameless she was when I showed her my phone texts and voicemail. I had taken time of from work to go to the appointment to the due pain but my appointment was canceled twice without notice.

Over all the staff members are nice except Juliana, but they make many mistakes. Like they take many X-rays just for one cavity and then later they say the insurance company needs it. I have been to too many dentists offices, but none of them ever took this many X-rays pictures. My three siblings go to this facility I saw this issue with all three of my siblings. The other thing is each time I schedule an appointment for something they forget what the appointment was for and then they name it as it was for consultation. There was one time that I was trying to explain to staff members that tge appointment was for filling and not consultation, she just ignored me and was keep saying you have to come back in 2 months. I wanted to do this earlier but I thought it's just one or two times but since it happened many times, I had to write this review.

They have a dentists performing root canals to "help with the pain on the other tooth, so that's why we did a root Cana;". They messed up a root canal so much that they had to refer me to multiple endodontists to fix their problems. The wait times are absurd as well, they will make you wait 30+ minutes over your appointment time. I'm positive all these 5 star reviews are fake since they all mention the same thing. Update: unethical practice that takes advantage Of non English speaker then will send a letter to terminate your relationship with them after posting a one star review. The manager, Juliana, is very rude and condescending person that will lie about anything to get herself out of trouble.
