At the age of 12, Dr. Michael Skolnick got his braces on and was so inspired that he decided one day he would become an Orthodontist himself. After graduating at the top of his dental class, Dr Michael entered the Orthodontic Residency program at NYU and his aspirations became a reality. Dr. Michael is very excited working at Pearly Whites in Berkeley Heights, NJ, a community that is very special to him because he was raised there. Dr. Michael sits on the board of numerous dental insurances advising the State of New Jersey about the policies concerning dentistry and orthodontics. This commitment to his field and his patients has earned him the award of Best Orthodontist in New Jersey for 2013 and 2014 by his peers (NJ Family Magazine).
While Dr. Michael offers traditional braces, Invisalign, and clear braces, his approach to orthodontics is unique because he does not just focus on the teeth. Crooked teeth are a result of how we use our lips and tongue, in combination with other oral habits. It is imperative that we think about correcting these bad habits, not just fixing what they have done to a persons teeth.

Dr. Brooke Skolnick knows that education is a lifelong pursuit. That is why she attends many dental continuing education lectures every year, and is a part-time faculty member at Beth Israel Dental Residency. Always practicing at the highest level of care in the field of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Brooke is Board Certified with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Brooke sits on the board of numerous dental insurance companies as an advisor to the State of New Jersey for Pediatric Dental policies in underserved communities. This commitment to Pediatric Dentistry has led her to be recognized by her peers as a top Pediatric Dentist in New Jersey in 2014.
Dr. Brooke is very passionate about getting involved and giving back to the community. This drive has taken Dr. Brooke as far as Ecuador on a dental mission trip to help underserved children. It is also why every year the staff and doctors at Pearly Whites participate in Give Kids a Smile day, a day of free dentistry for children that do not have the means to afford dental care. Pearly Whites also hosts numerous drives in our office, support local charities, as well hosts a fun fall festival.
It was very important to Dr. Brooke that Pearly Whites offer a unique dental experience that changes the way people feel about going to the dentist. Besides creating a modern fun environment, Dr. Brooke uses state-of-the-art dental technology. Safety is our highest priority which is why Pearly Whites only uses low dosage x-rays. Dr. Eleni Mavrakis is a graduate of Montefiore Medical Centers Pediatric Dentistry Program. She received her DMD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where she was a recipient of multiple awards and scholarships. Her clinical experiences were expanded by treating children with developmental disabilities at the Rose F. Kennedy Center in New York City.
During her years as a dental student and pediatric dental resident, she donated much of her spare time to volunteer activities ranging from helping high school students learn about dentistry to screening Olympians at the Special Olympics.
As an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association, she keeps current with the latest research and development in the field of dentistry. She is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and honored with the Richard C. Pugh Award for scoring in the top three percent in the nation on her Pediatric Dental Boards. Her passion for helping and giving back has led her to many volunteer programs including a mission trip to Sri Lanka to perform screenings and teach children dental care.
