At the age of 12, Dr. Michael Skolnick got his braces on and was so inspired that he decided one day he would become an Orthodontist himself. After graduating at the top of his dental class, Dr Michael entered the Orthodontic Residency program at NYU and his aspirations became a reality. Dr. Michael is very excited working at Pearly Whites in Berkeley Heights, NJ, a community that is very special to him because he was raised there. Dr. Michael sits on the board of numerous dental insurances advising the State of New Jersey about the policies concerning dentistry and orthodontics. This commitment to his field and his patients has earned him the award of Best Orthodontist in New Jersey for 2013 and 2014 by his peers (NJ Family Magazine).
While Dr. Michael offers traditional braces, Invisalign, and clear braces, his approach to orthodontics is unique because he does not just focus on the teeth. Crooked teeth are a result of how we use our lips and tongue, in combination with other oral habits. It is imperative that we think about correcting these bad habits, not just fixing what they have done to a persons teeth.
Working at a Multi-Specialty office like Pearly Whites offers an Orthodontist the unique chance to be part of a team of dental professionals. Having all the dental care providers under one roof, communicating with each other, is not only convenient for the patients but it affords them the highest level of care. Dr. Brooke Skolnick knows that education is a lifelong pursuit. That is why she attends many dental continuing education lectures every year, and is a part-time faculty member at Beth Israel Dental Residency. Always practicing at the highest level of care in the field of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Brooke is Board Certified with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Brooke sits on the board of numerous dental insurance companies as an advisor to the State of New Jersey for Pediatric Dental policies in underserved communities. This commitment to Pediatric Dentistry has led her to be recognized by her peers as a top Pediatric Dentist in New Jersey in 2014.
Dr. Brooke is very passionate about getting involved and giving back to the community. This drive has taken Dr. Brooke as far as Ecuador on a dental mission trip to help underserved children. It is also why every year the staff and doctors at Pearly Whites participate in Give Kids a Smile day, a day of free dentistry for children that do not have the means to afford dental care. Pearly Whites also hosts numerous drives in our office, support local charities, as well hosts a fun fall festival.
It was very important to Dr. Brooke that Pearly Whites offer a unique dental experience that changes the way people feel about going to the dentist. Besides creating a modern fun environment, Dr. Brooke uses state-of-the-art dental technology. Safety is our highest priority which is why Pearly Whites only uses low dosage x-rays. It is this modern compassionate approach to dentistry combined with a warm, friendly staff that sets Pearly Whites apart. We look forward to seeing you in our office.
Dr. Eleni Mavrakis is a graduate of Montefiore Medical Centers Pediatric Dentistry Program. She received her DMD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where she was a recipient of multiple awards and scholarships. Her clinical experiences were expanded by treating children with developmental disabilities at the Rose F. Kennedy Center in New York City.
During her years as a dental student and pediatric dental resident, she donated much of her spare time to volunteer activities ranging from helping high school students learn about dentistry to screening Olympians at the Special Olympics.
As an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association, she keeps current with the latest research and development in the field of dentistry. She is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and honored with the Richard C. Pugh Award for scoring in the top three percent in the nation on her Pediatric Dental Boards. Her passion for helping and giving back has led her to many volunteer programs including a mission trip to Sri Lanka to perform screenings and teach children dental care.

Dr. Wu is the best. Knowledgeable and goes the extra mile! The rest of the staff is also great. It's set up very efficiently which makes it easy to get an appointment. We had an emergency and I believe the outcome was much better because of Dr. Wu.

I had a great first time experience here for myself and my daughter who's 6 years old, but since then, I've had to wait over 30 minutes past my appointment time at every visit. I've had to schedule multiple visits because they serve too many patients in one day. I was excited to have a place where both my daughter and I can go to, but I'm going to change providers because I shouldn't be waiting over 30 minutes for an appointment that was scheduled and scheduling multiple visits for things that can be done in one sitting.

Best dental practice I have ever seen - first off all the offices are beautiful and they pay attention to details with massage chairs in waiting area and TVs on ceilings and A kid friendly environment - the staff is very competent and nice - I couldn't recommend this place more

Awesome experience! Vee at the front desk was good vibes only. Ask for Alex, never had x-rays done so quickly and accurately of all my teeth. Shout out to Dr.Aiello for finding a dead tooth just in time to save it from being pulled! Best part is they have massage chairs as you wait and while you get your work done!

My rating used to be 5stars. This place has gone down in quality and safety. None of the hygienists nor dentist ever once washed their hands or used sanitizer. They confused my two children's treatment plans and recommend unnecessary treatments.

Great experience! Dr. James Sara went above and beyond taking care of me. I called late afternoon on a Saturday and he took me last minute on a weekend (which is UNHEARD of), to make sure I was not in pain. He was thorough and my swelling and inflammation went down that night. He took care of me like family and I trust him to refer to all my family and friends. Its rare to find a compassionate and personable dentist all in one.

Way too overpriced. I saw the bill for $100 and cashier tried charging me $190. Way too much for a kids cleaning with no x-rays.

Every time we come here it's a wonderful experience. When I was a kid I used to hate going to the dentist cause mine would be mean every time I had cavities. I wish I had a place like Pearly Whites back then. My son is actually always excited to come here. Such a great place!

I recently had a appointment with my child for the cleaning and the person who cleaned my daughters teeth was not professional in her job. She splashed water all over my daughter's face and was not careful. That woman needs more training and needs to know how to treat kids.

We were charged for services that were not provided, but the staff reverted the charges after discussions and feedback. They're responsive and cleared the confusion in short duration.
