Being a dentist can be one of the most challenging of occupations, but also can be one of the most rewarding and gratifying. I believe a knowledgeable dentist can make a positive change in her patients lives. Restoring a beautiful smile that brings self-confidence to the patient, aligning the teeth by orthodontics that provide ideal occlusion and function of the teeth, and improving tooth function and nutrition are some of the ways I am able to make a difference in my patients lives. It is something I am truly passionate about.
Dental technology changes on a nearly daily basis, and continuing education keeps me on top of those changes. By updating my knowledge about the latest diagnostic, preventive, and treatment methods, I can educate my patients about the causes of diseases, offer all alternative treatments that suit them, and maintain their achieved oral health.
In California, it is required to complete 50 hours of continuing education every two years, but I have taken more than 150 hours in 2015 alone! I also attend two professional study clubs for courses related to advanced general dentistry, orthodontics, implant surgeries and restorations, safety in the office, and patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
Part of the reason I became a dentist is that I care about my patients, people, community, and society. I am a recent transplant to the Santa Teresa neighborhood in San Jose. I chose to start my dental office in the neighborhood in which I live because I believe I can give back to the community where my family lives in a better way.
In the past, Ive been involved in a nonprofit dental clinic, and also volunteer through the dental society community activities. I look forward to becoming an active member of this community, both at work and at home.
My husband Reza and I grew up in the Gheytarieh neighborhood in Tehran, Iran. Our high schools were across the street from each other and our childhood homes very close by, but we never knew or met each other in Iran. As time passed, I graduated from dental school in Tehran and practiced dentistry, while Reza graduated as a civil engineer.
Once in the United States, Reza organized a Persian hiking group in the summer of 2014. As fate would have it, we met for the first time on one of the hiking trips in Northern California, thousands of miles away from our original neighborhood. Our love began to blossom from that very hike.
Reza officially surprised me by going down on one knee to propose to his love in November 2014. With great excitement and jubilation in the air, my father encouraged us not to delay the formal wedding ceremony so he could see our true love for each other. A month later, Reza and I held our formal ceremony at the San Francisco City Hall in December 2014. Though my father is no longer with us, he was able to fulfill his wish by witnessing first-hand the true love that Reza and I have for each other.
When Im not in the office, you can probably find me and my husband hiking through the woods, because we are both nature enthusiasts. I also enjoy traveling, cooking, reading spiritual self-improvement books, and learning the Spanish language.
Dr. Gina Betita is a California native, born and raised in the Central Valley. She graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Biology in 2003 and graduated from UC San Francisco in 2007, with her Doctorate in Dentistry degree. She then entered the US Air Force and attended the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program, which emphasized various aspects of reconstructive dentistry, sedation dentistry, and oral surgery, specifically gaining extensive experience in wisdom tooth extractions.
While in the military, Dr. Betita lived in Texas, S. Korea and Italy and gained a love for travelling and experiencing different cultures. She returned to the U.S. in 2013 and worked in a Native American Community Health Clinic for several years in Santa Rosa, CA, before meeting her husband and settling in the South Bay Area. She has a son, Cyrus, and loves being outdoors to enjoy nature and exercise with her family.
Dr. Betita brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Pearly Dental Care. She is a constant learner and continually participates in education of the latest technology and techniques. She is Spanish speaking and prides herself in assisting the dental team to work towards Pearly Dental Care mission of high patient satisfaction and customer service.

My husband, daughter, and I have been going to Pearly Dental for several yrs now and we are very satisfied with the service we have received. The staff are very friendly and Dr. K. gives expert service, guidance, and suggestions toward our overall dental health. It's also nice that the dental office is open on Saturdays. I was not a regular patient, but was seen same-day, referred to a root canal specialist at my appointment, and prescribed antibiotics to ease some of the pain. The staff were all so kind and welcoming and all the interactions made me feel like I was in good hands. I have peace of mind going into the weekend and am grateful to be getting seen by a specialist on Monday.

I LOVE Dr K and her whole team. I have gotten a number of crowns and fillings and soon ortho in the form of Invisalign. I trust them . I am very sensitive to pain and there has not been one time when they didnt make me comfortable. They are very kind, professional and make my whole family (2 kids and husband) feel special and cared about. I highly recommend pearly dental care.

I highly recommend Dr. Khatibian! She is amazing. She always patiently explains everything related to dental health to me. Her attention to the details (e.g., during deep-cleaning) and care for my teeth (e.g., gentle handling of the dentist's devices/machines, comprehensive explanation and reasoning for her recommendations) is really one of a kind. For all of our dental care needs, my wife and I always travel for like 45 mins to Pearly Dental Care to get a level of care and peace of mind that is hard to find elsewhere.

I have been a patient at Pearly Dental Care for almost 4 years. And I am what you would probably call a disobedient patient. I have a totally irrational fear of dentists and dental offices! I just had another appointment today with Dr. Morvarid Khatibian. I was reminded today that she has been the most caring, involved, transparent and articulate dentist I have ever known. And I am so glad she puts up with me and my dental-related disobedience and difficulties! Dr. Khatibian is "considered by many to be the Best Dentist in San Jose" because she is!
