Dr. Lu Dinh was born in Saigon, Vietnam and moved to the small town of Robinson, Illinois at a young age. He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign, where he met his dear wife. He then moved to Dallas, Texas to continue his education in the field of medical science and received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Cognition and Neuroscience.
After finishing post-doctoral training, he worked as a neurophysiologic specialist assisting neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons in complicated surgeries protecting the integrity of a patients nervous system throughout the procedures. However, Dr. Dinh did not feel fulfilled and he felt that something was missing. He kept thinking back about his time as a child growing up in Vietnam. He saw many friends and children with facial deformities such as cleft lip, cleft palate and other dental problems. All of them could have had a beautiful smile had they received better care. Dr. Dinh decided to be a dentist. He finished his dental training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He graduated with honors, in addition to being inducted into the National Honors Fraternity Omicron Kappa Epsilon.
He has given his time to volunteering at the Lady of Mercy Community Outreach, Greenville Free Medical Clinic, and humanitarian mission in Dominican Republic. He feels honored to have joined such fun and gratifying profession. Outside of the office, Dr. Dinh enjoys photography, checking up on the latest in technology, and spending time with his wife and their 3 year-old baby boy, Tony.

The staff and dentist are so nice and so good at what they do. I had a dental emergency and was able to be treated almost immediately. I was so thankful and they were awesome. I highly recommend Pearls!

To anyone looking for a dentist i HIGHLY recommend you look elsewhere! I was supposed to have a filling appointment today but the moment i was brought back, i was told to leave and never come back because i "suffer from anxiety" which is not true at all. I just did not want a bite block to be used due to my very terrible gag reflex but the doctor absolutely refused to listen to me. Horrible experience, do not recommend this dentist

Very nice clean office and friendly helpful staff. The Dentist and Dental Hygienist were the nicest, most thorough I've met in this area. I highly recommend this dental office.

Pearls is an excellent dentist office!! All of the employees from the receptionist, X-ray technician, hygienist and Dentist himself are very friendly, polite and well trained!! My appointments are always on time and they always work with me if I ever need to reschedule to get me back in as soon as possible. They seem to really care about me as a person and not just the amount of money they can make from me!! I trust them with my dental care and would recommend anyone to check them out.

I have been going to them for the past couple of months to get years of neglect taken care of. I am terrified of dentists and I let my teeth go for quite a long time. I decided to do something about it. They have done an extensive amount of work, from fillings to crowns to partials. They have really taken excellent care of me and they have helped me with my fear of dentists. All of them in the office from the front to the assistant's to the dentist have been more than I could ever ask for. After probably 40 years of neglect I have a smile that I will be proud of. I can't thank them enough for all the fantastic work they have done. Thank you so much for giving me back my self-confidence my smile and for taking such great care of me. I had to have a tooth extracted don't let the doctor's size fool you, he has the strength of King Kong.. LOL I am really glad I found them. I think God was looking out for me that day

I have had a fear of going to the dentist for years because of a bad experience that landed me in the hospital for 2 days. This is the first dentist in years that I entrust with every thing about my teeth, Not once have they made me feel bad about my crooked smile. I would strongly recommend this practice especially Dr. Li and staff.

I finally got the work done on my teeth that I've needed for a long time. I've had bad experiences and one that even put me in the emergency room so I was wary of trying someplace new. The whole staff is so friendly. The doctor was very reassuring and sensitive. My comfort was very important to him and he communicated with me often during the procedure to make sure I was alright. The nurses were sweet and comforting. Front staff was very welcoming, also knowledgeable and helpful with my insurance and billing. First time in my life I'm not afraid to see the dentist. Thanks to them all I Highly recommend!

I would update this review upon some things being cleared up. I have never had any extensive previous dental work done & I take good care of my teeth. I've had some changes orally in the last couple years upon giving birth to my son that I was told by my primary are likely hormonal, due to long term nursing of child, a vitamin deficiency & medications. Several factors but even if somebody doesn't practice good oral hygiene NOBODY should be treated less than irregardless of age, health, class, gender, personal circumstance... every patient should feel heard & receive a full explanation of what concerns there are & why certain work is being recommended in addition to multiple alternatives that are less costly should always be discussed. ALSO be wary of the fact that they say they accept your insurance but after your first appointment EVERYTHING they tell you need down to the cleaning isn't accepted by insurance. I've never seen or experienced anything like this in my 35yrs. I previously worked as a dental assistant so I know good patient care. Patients should be shown with a mirror what needs to done where & why. Patients in any field of medicine should be included in their own treatment plan & diagnoses. The doctor I saw didn't even introduce himself & didn't find it necessary to provide me with an explanation for over 5 thousand dollars of work to be done. Also wants to extract multiple teeth including wisdom teeth that aren't doing any harm & a highly regarded surgeon in the tri-state area said if they aren't causing pain, overcrowding & haven't come in there's no reason to touch them. It's all about harm reduction & preserving whatever possible. Not jerking out teeth without an explanation to why. Then you end up going onto a path of needing more & more teeth pulled bc this starts loss of structure & jaw/bone compromising. Some things seemed very concerning & Idk why it took nearly 3 hrs for x rays & an simple exam which didn't seem to thorough. I didn't feel like I was treated with respect or dignity by the doctor. The techs & front desk staff were very nice. Like I said I'd prefer another appointment to just sit down with the doctor & discuss what was proposed, why & possible alternatives. If they can't offer me that then I'd be forced to offer extreme warning to anyone considering trying this business. I understand this is a More affluent area & likely the positive reviews are those that obliviously hand money over without question & think everything is great but for those of us families that require a budget & care to participate in our treatment this is unsatisfactory. I was extremely nervous today and my anxiety was through the roof. When I tell you that my fears were the team's concerns I knew I was in the right place and in the right hands. Dr. Dinh did a complete examination, oral cleaning, told me what I needed next, what his recommendations were, we discussed different options and set up a dental plan going forward. I knew before I left what my out of pocket costs would be for the entire treatment plan and how much was covered under my insurance. I know that I have found my forever dentist. Thanks guys for such a pleasant visit today. Updated: just make sure you check your billing and what your insurance pay for. The coding is the key!!!
