Born in Canada and raised in Texas, Dr. Jennifer Nguyen now calls Downtown Los Angeles her home. Dr. Nguyen started her dental journey in 2002 volunteering extensively in community clinics, including: Healthcare for the Homeless, HIV/AIDS clinic, and county hospitals. She furthered her dental career at the University of Texas and began clinical research on cleft lip and palate patients, oral cancer, and advanced 3D digital imaging. Dr. Nguyens research has led her to publications in dental journals in early detection of oral cancer, white spot lesions related to Orthodontics, and digital imaging using Cone Beam CT (3D imaging).
Currently, Dr. Nguyen is a practicing general and cosmetic dentist in Downtown Los Angeles, California. She is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry recipient, and she is working towards her Associate Fellow in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Nguyen earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, a Masters in Public Health from the University of Texas, and her BS in Biochemical and Biophysics from the University of Houston. Dr. Nguyen is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, California Dental Association, Los Angeles Dental Society, Continuing Dental Education World, and Delta Sigma Delta Dental.
Dr. Nguyen believes dentistry is an art, requiring conservative preparations utilizing modern technology and techniques to achieve high esthetics and function. With proper education and tailored treatment planning, patients can achieve their desired smile and preserve their oral health. Whatever your concerns may be, Dr. Nguyen and her team will provide you with an individualized and effective treatment plan.
In her free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys cooking, practicing yoga, and exploring Southern California with her husband and her fur-baby, Teddy. She continues to give back to her community and revel in perfecting her dentistry through advanced continuing education courses in implant and cosmetic dentistry.

I am very happy to find a great dentist in the area! I haven't had the time to go to the dentist for awhile ( don't judge me! ) so I was trying to find one that would be conveniently located. I live close to DTLA and was suggested this location by a friend. I was able to make an appt conveniently through an online system and received confirmation immediately. Turns out the normal office was undergoing repair so they're temporarily displaced to a different location in downtown. I was able to get a very affordable parking spot via SpotHero but I was also offered a rideshare service if necessary! I was seen promptly and most importantly was educated on my dental health which I really hadn't experienced in the past. I didn't feel pressured into any services. I opted to do teeth whitening since I've been drinking a lot of coffee lately and that went well too. I'd definitely recommend this place to my friends and plan on coming back.

I moved to DTLA during the pandemic, and like many of us, I hadn't seen a doctor in over 2 years due to covid. I was nervous about going to the dentist but everyone was extremely nice and my cleaning was painless. I did not catch the doctors name and I want to make sure I get it right so I will ask during my next check-in. However, she is young and highly knowledgeable! I'm grateful that she told me to stop using charcoal on my teeth because I was having a reaction to it and didn't even realize it. I'm looking forward to going back. Never thought I would say that. Lol

DO NOT GO!!! I paid $1300 for a crown and they did a TERRIBLE job. They had a novice do it who took 3x as long and didn't numb me right or put it on right. I was in excruciating pain during the procedure and for 2 months after. They claimed to have sent me a pain prescription and it never arrived at the pharmacy. They admitted they probably put my crown on wrong but would not answer my queries to get a referral or a reimbursement. I contacted them for weeks and they just said "we'll get back to you" without ever addressing the issue. UPDATE: I went to another dentist months later because it was still bothering me and they confirmed Pearlique had put the crown in wrong and left my nerve exposed. I have called Pearlique and emailed them repeatedly and still can't get them to answer me.

Dr. Nguyen is by far the best dentist I have ever been to. She took her time. She cared so much. She made me feel so comfortable and for once in my life I was able to relax at a dental office. I would highly recommend her from your basic to complex cases.

Very friendly and clean, extra amenities to make you feel comfortable since most people don't like the dentist! Massaging chairs, and Netflix while you wait. Honest and upfront - and super convenient for LA downtowners - I just walk to my appointments!

Nice front office, very clean and new, and Dr. Amy was very nice and through. She did not try to recommend any unnecessary procedures and explained everything very well. Oh and the massage dental chair was something new!

Dec 2021 - Review Update: We discussed doing another service at the time of my initial visit and completed the necessary prep work to move forward. I requested that my insurance be contacted to figure out what if any they would cover. I was told Pearlique would get back with me. They never did. I have called multiple times to follow up on this with no response. I think follow up and how a company handles your case when you are not in front of them is just as important as customer service when present. I have decreased my star rating because of this. Original Review: OCT 2021 Great experience and comfortable environment. I provided my insurance prior to visit and did not have any delays on the day of. Dr. Amy did my actual cleaning!! I CAN'T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME THE DENTIST DID MY ACTUAL CLEANING!! I SOO APPRECIATE IT! The attention to detail was phenomenal. Felt like a new person! Had a bad experience last year at a different office. Wish I had found Pearlique sooner. Thank you Dr. Amy and Pearlique!

I've met with a bunch of different staff here after neglecting to take care of my teeth the way I should have. Everyone has been more then helpful and answered any questions I had. They also took their time and made sure I was comfortable. Being able to watch Netflix during the procedures was a nice distraction. My teeth look a lot better and I'm no longer experiencing pain. A friend I recommended to come here has also has a good experience. I highly suggest this place.

Amazing experience!!! Doctor Jennifer fixed several of my teeth, and she is one of the best dentist I ever had. Very competent, efficient, friendly, caring & did an incredible job.
