Orthodontics refers to a specialized branch of dentistry that corrects poor tooth positioning and improper jaw alignment. This treatment is used to correct both cosmetic issues and problems with chewing function. Genetics and growth rates of your oral structures contribute to alignment problems and crowding.

Our orthodontic specialists at PearlFection Dentistry in Frederick, MD will evaluate your jaw and tooth alignment by using the latest technology including comprehensive x-rays of your jaws and supporting structures. Your Frederick orthodontistwill then formulate a treatment plan designed to correct your cosmetic and functional issues and provide you with your newly straight smile.

Moving crowded or overlapped teeth to give you a cosmetically beautiful smile Restoring good chewing function by correcting poor bite alignment Closing gaps or spaces between teeth for a great smile Positioning twisted or rotated teeth correctly to prevent excessive wear

You can choose from: Invisalign, the virtually invisible method of straightening your teeth; Invisalign uses clear plastic trays called aligners. Conventional orthodontics usingmetal brackets and wires; (what most people associate withthe term braces.) Conventional orthodontics, using tooth-colored or clear brackets and wires; for a less noticeable look. Lingual braces, which are cemented to the tongue sides of your teeth for better aesthetics.

There are nine specialties sanctioned by the American Dental Association, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics is one of them. Many patients state during the treatment, ' I 'm going to my orthodontist today' but rarely do you hear someone say ' I 'm going to my dentofacial orthopedist.' Several years ago the AAO changed the title of our specialty to be more encompassing.

An orthodontist and dentofacial orthopedicsdoes more than just straightening teeth. We can influence the growth of the jaws. The word 'ortho' comes from the Greek for 'straight' or 'correct,' and 'dontic' comes from the Greek meaning 'teeth.' The word dentofacial has its origin from Greece as well. The term 'dentofacial' means 'teeth' plus 'face' while 'ortho' again means 'straight' and 'pedic' is from the Greek for 'child.'

Orthodontics is the management of tooth movement and dentofacial orthopedics involves the guidance of facial growth and development. This growth occurs in largely in early childhood development thru the early teen years. Some growth still exists in late teen years. In either case, an orthodontist uses this growth and development to best treat the patient. Certain appliances like a headgear or expander are used during childhood developmental years. Sometimes orthopedic treatment may precede braces, like an expander, but other times the two are accomplished at the same time. So if your child has braces and a headgear, he or she is undergoing orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics!

Excellent job done by Dr.Huang and Nurse Katrin from Pearlfection. I trust and recommend PearlFection Dentistry - Frederick Maryland. Only concern was the charge for the work pretty expensive. If they would do some discount that would be great.

Having not been to the dentist in longer than I care to admit, I chose PearlFection for the convenience of multiple types of dentistry under one roof. My experience has been excellent, with my only regret being that I waited so long. Drs Huang and Patel, Katrin, Morgan, and everyone I have worked with have been courteous, friendly, and have an obvious desire to provide an outstanding and comfortable experience for their patients. Their outstanding work is much appreciated!

Best Dental office i've ever been to. Cleanliness, professionalism, and staff friendliness are all 10/10. My visit with Dr. Stringer was the most thorough dental visit ever. I've been in and out of dental offices since I was a young teen (due to cavities) and now i'm. Her assistant Susan is such a sweet and gentle person, very friendly and caring, I hope I get her every time I visit! Pleasant experience overall. My family and I will stay here, they have everything you need right on site.

Fantastic establishment! I switch to this dentist office after breaking up with my last dentist office. Long story short, my last dentist office didn't care about their patients so I did my research and chose here because I saw a flyer. When I walked in, I was welcomed in by a delightful team of young ladies behind the desk. All pleasant, it was nice to see their smiles and they all had wonderful customer service skills. Susan took me back for my initial X-rays and stuff that needed to be done prior to the doctor seeing me. Susan was so kind, patient, and attentive. She was super helpful and made me feel like I had been her patient for years. The dentist herself was awesome. She took her time exposing to me what I needed and some other questions that I had, which was super very helpful. I am looking forward to returning there for all my dental needs!!

Wow! I had the most wonderful experience at the dentist with Danielle! I am so fearful of needles and my teeth are so sensitive. However Danielle put me at ease, I was so comfortable maybe within 2 min I met her. She is so skilled and did an outstanding job with my root scaling. I was so relaxed and was happy to let her do her job. She is definitely very knowledgeable! So glad I finally found my new hygienist after moving! And the best part I found an excellent one! So glad to have now found this PearlFection location. Danielle you are now stuck with my whole family! Dr R. El Meskini

My first visit here was an emergency visit. I had a fractured filling that was causing some very intense pain, so I called around several dental practices to see if I could get an appointment within the week, but had no luck. One of the offices I called referred me to Pearlfection, so I called them, half expecting them to turn me down. Pearlfection booked me the NEXT DAY. I was so relieved I cried, because that's how bad the pain was. I saw Dr. Stringer and her assistant Susan, and both of them were so sweet, and helpful, and genuinely put me at ease (I ended up needing a root canal). All the staff I've interacted with there have been very friendly, but Susan and Dr. Stringer definitely left an impression on me and were just generally wonderful people. I think I'll be making this office my primary dentist from now on. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wait times do tend to be a bit long- which I understand because they're a big practice- and because they don't seem to use topical numbing before they inject the lidocaine. Although my only experience with the lidocaine injection was with a different doctor, for my root canal. Maybe I was a little spoiled by my previous dentist, but I'm a baby when it comes to pain, and not having the topical numbing prior to injection was definitely a lot more painful than I anticipated. But overall I ended up really liking this practice.

Pearlfection was absolutely top notch! From the moment I walked in the door the reception staff delivered warm greetings!! I was immediately greeted by Susan who was my dental assistant! I absolutely love her! Susan is very personable, warm, friendly and knowledgeable. Shortly after meeting Susan, I was greeting by Dr. Stringer! Oh my word... in my Susan voice.... Dr. Stringer gave me the best care and advice as if I was a first year dental student instead of a scientist learning about my teeth and overall dentistry. I love Pearlfection!!!!!

Pearlfection dentistry is honestly the best experience I've had with a dentist . I've had alot of dental work done in the past and I've never been treated the way that I was treated at pearlfection. There dental assistant Susan was so nice and perfessional. She took the time to come up with the best plan that would work for me and my situation. I will definitely be recommending them to others that need dental work. And the best thing besides there professional assistance is it's a one stop shop for all your dental needs. You don't have to worry about having to go to a bunch of different places to have your dental work done. I strongly recommend pearlfection to anybody that needs dental work done in Frederick.
