Once the examination is complete, your doctor will then consult with you about her findings and her treatment recommendations. We want to ensure that all of our patients fully understand the treatment that we are recommending. No question is too small or insignificant. Please ask for more details if there is something that you do not understand.

Your doctor would like to see you for a post-operative visit approximately 1-2 weeks following periodontal surgery. This is to make sure the site is healing properly and all sutures are gone. She will also like you to have your teeth cleaned every 3 months with an exam once a year to keep your periodontal status stable. These cleanings are usually alternated with your general dentist.

Dr. Bonaventura graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine where she earned a Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 1996. She participated in a General Practice Residency program from 1996 to 1997 and moved to Houston shortly after. After arriving into Houston, she attended the University of Texas Health Science Center for graduate studies in Periodontics. She received a specialty certificate in Periodontics and a Master's of Science degree in 2001. Dr. Bonaventura is board certified in Periodontics and practices full time in Pearland. In addition to running her practice, Dr. Bonaventura holds an Assistant Clinical Professorship at the University of Texas at Houston's Dental School. She is an active member of several local and national dental organizations including the American Academy of Periodontics, the Greater Houston Society of Periodontics, the Greater Houston Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association. Dr. Bonaventura's dedication to her practice, staff, continued education and patients ensures the most comprehensive and advanced dental care available. Dr. Bonaventura is happily married to her husband Joe and lives in the Pearland area. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, traveling and loving on her sweet dogs Sugar Bear and Bunny.

Melissa started working for Dr. Bonaventura in 2007 as an intern while attending the Texas School of Business where she earned her Registered Dental Assistant license. She has worked in several areas of the office from taking care of patient's needs at the front desk, chairside with Dr. Bonaventura for several years as well as her current position as Office Manager. Melissa works hard to make sure each patient's expectations are exceeded and takes pride in a job well done.

Melissa and her husband live in Houston and keep very busy with their three children; Annalisa, Gracie, and Michael, Jr. She and her family enjoy spending time together and engaging in outdoor activities.

Sophia started working in dentistry in 2008 and become a Registered Dental Assistant in 2010. She began working for Dr. Bonaventura in May of 2011 as her Dental Assistant before taking a leave of absence to give birth to her baby girl Natalia in mid-2013. Sophia couldnt stay away long and has now taken on the responsibilities of surgical assistant to Dr. James and Dr. Sheng and aswell as Patient Care Coordinatorfor the practice. With her experience chairside along with her warm personality she looks forward to spreading the word about the services and expertise that Pearland Periodontics has to offer.

Sophia has been married to her husband Eric since 2002 and they have two wonderful children Marco and Natalia. She loves any time spent with family and friends, going to the movies and playing volleyball.

We are so happy to have Tammy return to the Pearland Periodontics Team. She previously worked in our office as the front desk receptionist a few years ago, but has recently returned as our Treatment Coordinator.

Tammy has been in the field of dentistry since 1984, but found her love for Periodontics in 1999 when she was given the opportunity to learn microsurgery and to hone her skills as a surgical assistant. With her extensive experience in several different roles in the dental office, she is excited to be working with our patients and helping them to better understand their treatment needs.

Tammy is proud to be the mother of three grown children and four beautiful grandchildren who she adores. She also has several interests outside of dentistry including a love for Texas history and has often joked that she's been known to stop at any historical marker. She also appreciates old cemeteries, all genres of music, nature and photography.

Lori joined our practice in 2019 and brings her vast dental experience and perspective to Pearland Periodontics. With 20 years of dental hygiene experience, Lori continues to spread her passion of achieving dental health through her compassionate, professional, educational and gentle treatment to our patients. Starting at a very young age in her family's dental practice, her knowledge includes general dentistry, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry and periodontics. Because of a frightening dental experience as as child, Lori aspires to eliminate the stigma of dental anxiety through positive and pleasant dental experiences for her patients.

Lori is a devoted mother of two children. When not volunteering at the school, she can usually be found watching her son on the baseball field or hanging out with her daughter, who is a sophomore at Texas A&M University. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University and attended UTHSC-Dental to attain her Dental Hygiene certification. She is licensed in Texas and has also practiced in Pennsylvania.

Eurika joined Pearland Periodontics in 2018 as a surgical assistant and has been a great addition to our team. Eurika received her Dental Assistant Certification from Texas School of Business in 2014. She enjoys working in the dental field and helping to bring quality care to all patients. She is Dr. James chairside assistant but also assists Dr. Bonaventura and Dr. Sheng when needed. Eurika takes pride and works hard to ensure the highest of care and a comfortable dental office experience to all patients.

Originally from the West coast, Eurika moved to Texas in 2007. Outside of the office, Eurika is very busy attending her childrens school activities. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Tami joined the Pearland Periodontics team in 2018 and is our Professional Relationship Director (PRD). She has a bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. Her role as PRD is to develop and maintain on-going professional relationships between our practice and referring doctors in addition to fostering the practice's growth through marketing and promotional activities. She is also the ambassador of special projects and events including managing social media. Her extensive marketing communications background along with her warm personality and enthusiasm makes her a valued member of our team.

Away from the office, Tami brings the same dedication to her role as wife and mother. She and her husband, Mike, have been Pearland residents since 2000 and have two children who keep them busy with their sports and extracurricular activities. Tami enjoys running, baking, trying out Pinterest ideas, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

All payment is due at the time that services are rendered. Forms of payment accepted by the office are check, cash, or any major credit card. If you choose to pay for your surgery in full by cash or check on the day of treatment , we will offer a 5% discount off of the total surgery fee. For patients who do not have dental insurance.

Please note that patients are responsible for any amount not covered by their insurance company or remaining balances 90 days following treatment. Our office is a provider for numerous insurance companies, although we are not a provder for HMO/DMO plans.
